The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Ordered a tv wall panel at 408.99. Two weeks later I noticed they had it on sale again with a lower price. Submitted a price match request and was denied with a generic respond. I could have just buy it again then issue a return on the higher price order. I didn't do it because I didnt want to go through the hassle. First and last time customer. Do not do business with this company ever!
The worst online buying experience I have had over 20+ years -- EVER. Echo many of the other negative reviews. The company plays games on its pricing then lies about it, over-promises but under-delivers on the quality, the shipping process, and resulting transit time of its merchandise. Took 8 weeks, and 4 shipments to receive a simple bath vanity that supposedly was in stock and available in 2 days, which is why I agreed to their high price.
Repeated damaged shipments and other SNAFUs. To add insult to injury, when item was finally installed, contractor spent 2 hours looking for the source of a water leak, only to find a manufacturer's defect in the sink causing it. Were we not behind schedule on the project because of Houzz's earlier delays, would have ripped out the item and canceled my order. When I explained the situation, Houzz offered a nominal discount - which made the net cost still greater than a previous sale price, which Houzz refused to honor. SMH.
Very sharp business practices in many other areas too, e.g. standard shipping terms call for their 3rp party shipper - who in turn uses other 3rd parties to drop freight (200+ lb item) on the street. Houzz expects customer to have a pallet jack or four strong men on-site to move purchased item(s) into the house or garage. None of their people use last names -- clearly hiding, and navigating through their customer service / call center in Irvine, CA is near impossible (surely by design.)
One might expect this type of operation were it operating in a third-world country whose consumers have lower customer service expectations. However, Houzz is based in Silicon Valley, charges Silicon Valley prices, and is backed by top-tier venture capital and professional investment firms, see: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/houzz#/entity. Wonder if these investors realize what a terrible company they own...?
Ordered a ceiling light May 22,2017. Arrived with some crucial parts missing. Have called customer service numerous times and sent many e-mails. Have been getting ignored and lied to. Now I can't even talk to them about returning this useless light! Will NEVER use Houzz again and will recommend my friends and family never order from here. Going on social media with this!
Absolutely terrible customer service. It has taken me over a month to get instructions as to how to proceed with damaged and unsatisfactory craftsmanship items. I bought $2,000 worth of umbrellas for my business, all of which arrived either broken or cannot stand up to even the slightest of breezes. Since I reported the damage outside of their "5 day window"... they cannot help me. Absolutely incredible. They just keep pushing me off. Emails go unanswered. Every time I call, they just tell me "we're working on it". They have my money, I have their terrible products... and now I'm stuck because they won't communicate with me.
I'm never ordering from them again! Customer service is not helpful and didn't even try to resolve the issue.
I have ordered from Houzz twice. The first time the order was cancelled because apparently the item I bought wasn't actually in stock. I just ordered again and I'm trying to get ahold of their customer service and the line ends up taking me to voicemail and then hanging up on me. I tried to "Submit a Request" yesterday and haven't heard back. They should be able to answer the phone at least!
We ordered a futon several weeks ago. First, we received the futon with no legs. After contacting Houzz support, they promised us the correct parts would be sent instantly. After waiting several days and having to recontact them again, someone finally got back to us and said the parts had been shipped. Yet when we opened the box, none of the legs or bolts fit into the futon! We immediately called Houzz and were told that it was too late in the day to send out any new parts, but that the company would send parts first thing that Monday morning. We agreed to wait and requested expedited shipping since it had now been over 2-3 weeks since we first ordered the futon. The representative we spoke to on the phone assured us the parts would be sent immediately and that she would put in a request for expedited shipping. We then waited for several days with no word from Houzz. When Monday came with no update, we sent two emails requesting a response - no replies at all! We tried calling the support line 3 times and the call was disconnected each time. Finally, on Wednesday we got in touch with someone on the phone who said there was absolutely no record of any parts being shipped and requested we return the couch ourselves rather than providing a full refund. We later called to confirm that we do not want to return the parts, we just want the correct parts sent to us in expedited shipping. Of course, now Houzz claims they cannot get in touch with the vendor who originally sold the futon. 4+ weeks and still no futon or refund. If I could give them a rating of 0 stars I would. Stay away!
I have ordered a couple of things from Houzz that were great; two beautiful Tiffany lamps which were perfect. Then I ordered two night tables that specifically said "no assembly required". I'm an older woman with some nerve damage in one hand that makes it difficult to assemble anything, that was the purpose of ordering something already put together! They came in two huge boxes, nothing but pieces of (cheap) wood and a bunch of bolts. The wood pieces had some labels, most of it did not. Now what. The seller did not respond to my complaint and, after contacting Houzz, they did not respond after "we'll look into it". Silence since then. Luckily I paid with my AMEX, the one company you can count on if someone screws you over. Be careful with this site, you can't trust what they tell you.
I am getting nervous - no response for days - I just want to return a light/fan that is too big for space! I have emailed my request with order number as per instructions several times and heard nothing!
I've had the worst customer service experiences with this company. Have tried ordering 2 different times in 2 years and both times have been horrible. I've waited on hold for 20 minutes and then the actual company intentionally kicks you off and says to email. It doesn't allow you to keep waiting! Absurd.
If you give Houzz a bad review on their site they move it to the shipper. Houzz takes no responsibility. For sub par merchandise sold on their site. Their Customer Service people are nice, But can't or won't do anything to fix the problem. The company only responded after I contacted the BBB in California. That's why their rating on their site very good(they move bad reviews). On sitejabber.com their rating is the worst I have ever seen.
We ordered two Eucalyptus chairs from Houzz, they were shipped on 5/23/2017. The purchase price based on the ad on the Houzz website said the pair of two chairs were $126 no tax and free shipping. The chairs arrived and were as advertised. I checked my credit card and was charged $245 for the two chairs. I contacted Houzz customer service and they said the chairs were $126 each that's how they charged $245? Where I went to school 2x126 equals $252. The website is now selling the chairs at $166 for two, that ad is running today. The agent told me they use many suppliers and the one that sent us the chairs was Frontera and they charge $245. Just a second Houzz, I fortunately found the carton the chairs came in, they were shipped from J C Penny not Frontera and J C Penny now has the same chair two pack on sale for $70! I don't mind paying the $126 that my original order was based on but I'm not going to pay double for what I consider a Bait and Switch, DO NOT USE THIS OUTFIT, I now can see why Amazon is so successful.
I wish I would've looked at reviews sooner! I got a coupon for Houzz and thought it was similar to wayfair. Well, it kinda is, except it sucks. I purchased a shower curtain and rod. The next day I had only been charged for the curtain and after scouring my houzz profile I saw no inclination that my rod was ordered. So I went out and purchased from a different site and had no issues. 2 weeks later, I see a charge for the rod. Look at my Houzz account, there it is! Out of nowhere! I immediately email and call trying to stop the order. It came the next day and their explanation is "I'm sure you just didn't know we are a 3rd party seller so we have no control over the orders." Oh really? Well you have control of your web profiles and interface, why wasn't my order on there? Excuse after excuse after excuse. "Sorry, we can't offer free returns. You should've called us when it wasn't on your profile." Or how about you fix your website. Never ordering from here again and you, whoever is reading this, shouldn't either.
Received the couch with missing legs, a tear in the right side, decorative nails are all crooked and a snickers bar under the pillow. And the color isnt even what is described online... Now having extreme issues with trying to return a $500 couch..
Don't know why this company is still surviving. Just waste your time and money.
After checking their very bad reviews, I hesitated to place my order. Then I called their customer service to make sure they can ship the item I need immediately. The rep called manufacture and ensure me that the item can be shipped out at the same day. BUT about 30 minutes later after I placed my order, another customer service rep called me said the item has a missing part, have to delay the shipment in two weeks. I cancelled my order on the phone immediately, dont want to deal with such unreliable company. I SHOULD ask they to reimburse me for the time I spent on their website. Worst company ever!
Fichtner Services did a quality job in replacing shingles on a town house roof that I own. The crew was professional in every detail. This is the second time we have used Fichtner. The first job involved a total roof replacement on another property with the same excellent results.
Fred K.
They shipped us the wrong $98.00 rug. It took 19 emails and texts and 5 phone calls trying to get a replacement rug! 19 emails, texts and 5 phone calls! This is probably the Worst fulfillment site on the Internet. We never did get the rug but while we were trying to get our order they were texting; 'How was our service' and 'Purchase more 'stuff' from us'. The absolute worst. Purchase anything from them at your own risk. The same items were found on Amazon with 2 day shipping. Pathetic. Read the other reviews before deciding to buy thru Houzz.
I purchased 6 bar stools through Houzz manufactured by a company called Bisonoffice.
The stools arrived in short order but after assembling two of the six, it was clear the the quality of the stool was not as expected. Both stools appeared to have 1 of the 4 legs shorter than the other three causing the stool to rock when sat on. I also noticed that one of the stools was cracked during manufacturing and simply repaired by screwing the cracked piece to the chair. Totally unacceptable. (See Photos) I requested to return the 6 chairs and was told by Bisonoffice that I needed to inspect the remaining 4 stools or that the return would be at my recourse. I was not going to unpack and assemble 4 additional stools to do the manufacturers quality control for them so I refused and agreed to return 4 of the six chairs. Houzz customer services stepped in and resolved the problem reminding the manufacturer about their policy on defective merchandise. A prompt refund was received and Bison Office products sent a call tag to retrieve the defective merchandise. I would highly recommend House but not BisonOffice Products.
This is honestly the worst experience we have ever had. I don't know if all the "pros" listed here are bad, but the one we chose doesn't even rate a one star.
I have ordered a number of items over time from Houzz. Every time there were issues - No delivery, damaged goods, product that cannot be assembled.
The idea of this site is great. Execution fails completely.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
