The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Purchased a $24 item from the vendor the HomeCentric. Item not as pictured so returned. After 48 days and no reply from vendor I emailed as to the status of return. Vendor refused to exchange stating that the returned item was never received while the USPS tracking did confirm. Vendor then Houzz refused to honor the return with a credit or exchange merchandise. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Please do yourself a favor, do not buy anything from HOUZZ, worst experience ever!. It is a nightmare to return something that in the first place when I received it was totally different than what I saw in the picture. DO NOT FALL OR THIS SCAM!
I have never purchased anything from the Houzz site until recently. I purchased a round barrel mirror. It did ship promptly, and I did receive it, BUT, the mirror was not even attached to the frame at all. It was completely loose and would need to be glued into the frame. In addition the quality of the mirror I received was nothing like the mirror pictured on their site. I sent in a return request, and Houzz doesn't have anything to do with it. They make it between you and the seller. Haven't heard a word from the seller about the return request. Houzz simply says to follow up with the seller. Why is it on their site then if they don't have any accountability?
Amazing interaction with their customer service. Professional and responsive. I bought a sectional with them and had to cancel the order due to some wrong measurements on our side. Houzz staff -I spoke with several of them- was super helpful and courteous all through the process.
No matter how pretty their stuff looks do yourself a favor and do NOT and I repeat do NOT order from them! We took white glove delivery of an upholstered headboard which got soiled by the person who assembled it. There were also bleach like discolorations on the headboard as well. I sent pictures of the headboard and was told a new one would be delivered. Weeks went by and I never heard anything. When I called to check on the status they told me that the order was cancelled. I was never notified of this. They told me it was due to the fact that the headboard was now out of stock. Many follow up phone calls after that, I come to find that Houzz has no idea of when the headboard will be back in stock as their manufacturer has not answered their phone calls or inquiries. Why would they cancel an order and not let me know and why not put the headboard on back order if it is out of stock? Bottom line is that there is no new headboard to be had, so now I am stuck with a soiled discolored item. To top it off, I also ordered from Houzz a kitchen table. They delivered it with only one delivery person. He could not get the table to my kitchen by himself and had to have my husband help him. Why would you send one person to deliver an extremely heavy item? Oh and the table had a chip underneath to boot! We aren't even bothering to get a replacement as I want to be done with this nightmare of a company. I wouldn't so much as order a throw pillow from Houzz!
I purchased a headboard from Houzz in June 2018. It arrived damaged. They told me it would be replaced very soon, and to keep the damaged piece until the new one arrived and could be installed. 3 months later I was still dealing with the issue. I was shuffled from person to person at Houzz (at least 10 different customer service reps). Nobody ever knew what had been promised (several people told me the 200 lb headboard would just have to be dropped off on my porch and not assembled because it was a "replacement" item). It was literally the worst customer service I have ever had. They need to assign ONE person to deal with orders that need special attention, and they need to keep their word. They had no issues with having me own their problem. I will never shop there again. EVER.
I am so disappointed in my interaction and purchase through Houzz. Purchased a king size comforter, it's way too small for our king bed and the return is costing us 1/4 of the purchase. I will never again purchase through houzz. This is a disgrace. I found the same comforter (larger extra large king) o at bed bath and beyond for 40.00 less, free shipping and free return if it doesn't fit. Great site for ideas. Horrible site for purchasing.
Not good. They will charge you for return shipping and it is expensive! Just wasted $200 on something that didn't work. Didn't want to help me at all. And if the product arrives damaged after you return it they still charge you for the product! DO NOT order from this site unless you have seen the product in real life and just happen to find it cheaper here which is probably still not the cheapest. Continue shopping other places. Their stuff really is not good deals.
I recently purchased a Carmel Nickel/Lucite Shelf Product from Houzz; the item was beautiful, exceeding my expectations. Within two weeks of ordering, Houzz dropped the price from $407 to $220. I contacted customer service to ask about a credit for the price difference. They responded promptly, but denied my request even though I was still within the 30 day return period. My advice... shop elsewhere. This was my first order, and last, from Houzz.
PROS BEWARE!
HOUZZ is a total scam.
They offer Professional Designers Marketing Services. They convince the "PRO" to sign up for a year for thousands of dollars. The calls that are received are mostly for tiny jobs that are not enough to offset they thousands invested in their Marketing Services. A year after signing up over the phone, HOUZZ starts automatically charging the PRO a monthly fee ($250 per month) in my case. I never authorized it. I have called HOUZZ every few days for a month and the rep on the phone knows nothing and cannot help and offers to have someone call back. THEY NEVER DO. I FINALLY got a hold of my account rep via email who said she cannot even talk to me for 2 weeks, and said if I cancel, I will be assessed a Termination Fee. I already paid for the year, and never continued beyond that. There is no one to talk to AND THERE IS NO CANCELATION OPTION in the Advanced Settings of the PRO Account (if you search how to cancel, it gives instructions, but the instructions are false, there is no "deactivate account" setting. I had to dispute with my credit card company. I have wasted so much time on this. I will never work with HOUZZ as a PRO again, nor will I ever purchase from them. Once you give them your credit card details, they hold on to it and charge you without permission. I spoke to someone in the Philippines just now, and she said (like all the other reps) there is no one available to assist me, she will forward my message. ENDLESS CYCLE of getting NO WHERE.
There is a reason Amazon is King of online buying and that is because they make the customer experience easy. If a wrong item is sent by mistake or if an item arrives damaged, you simply press a couple of buttons and set up a UPS pickup. No printer needed. Simple. No hassle. HOUZZ on the other hand? OMG. NEVER again will I shop on this site! It's really too bad because they have great variety and excellent prices but it's simply not worth the struggle to get things returned... things that are THEIR mistake or because of damages! I have waited two weeks and barely a response... and the one response I did receive asked me for the same thing I'd already submitted. Three items ordered... two damaged (and not because of shipping, but because of quality) and one incorrect item not even close to what I ordered. They make is SO difficult. Do NOT waste your time unless you are comfortable keeping any item that arrives damaged or unless you're willing to keep an item that is totally different from what you ordered. I'm sure things go smoothly sometimes, but I am not willing to take another chance with HOUZZ. Like I said, there's a reason Amazon is King.
First of all people who need to return items because they simply changed their minds or didn't like the color absolutely should pay for return shipping. It states it on your Order people! You all need to read everything. Also, maybe onceyou receive your packages you should look at them right away and not a month later. Like who does that? I always look at my orders received right away to prevent such issues. This is online ordering these things are expected. Any damage I receive they always take care of me. You can't blame the middle man as Houzz is a marketplace for sellers and vendors that Im told so they have to wait on those vendors while they are trying to work on customers behalf. Cut them some slack, I've called and got great service. Maybe go to a store if it suits you better.
Be aware that you will be charged for any returns. The items are not inexpensive, and if they don't work once you receive them, you have to pay to return them. Not worth buying from this company.
I've never had such a difficult time returning something. They do not honor their return policy. I ordered a gray upholstered bed and it's not gray it's blue. Another reviewer had also said its blue. They have drug their feet for more than two weeks now, originally not responding at all and then making excuses saying the vendor says it's gray, with email responses days apart. I will not shop here again.
Bought appliance. Got call saying it was out of stock and if I wanted a different brand. I said no and canceled. Suddenly what I had originally ordered was being d
Delivered. Too much confusion. No delivery but somehow I was responsible for a $500 return fee. Bad business.
I purchased several items for a kitchen remodel in March anticipating starting the kitchen immediately. Well, the contractor ran into significant delays and started the remodel in June/July. When they finally opened the items I purchased from Houzz, the range hood was damaged (dented, yet box was in good shape, so it was PACKED and SENT damaged), and the faucet leaked. Of course I was outside of their one month to return an item. I went through months of contesting directly with Houzz and through my credit card company, to no avail. If you even think for a minute you may have any problems with installation causing delays, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. Awful to work with. Avoid at all costs.
I thought this was a decent site until I had the wrong item sent to me. It was a rug mispackaged. I made them aware of it and it has been back and forth for weeks. It takes them two days to respond to emails and the return time is past 30 days and they said the vendor wont do anything about it. Seriously? Will not be using thwm evwr again.
Hate this place, will never buy from them again. They have no control over the service or length of time of their deliveries nor products coming damaged or missing. Giving all my business to Wayfair who handles it better and delivers quick!
This is the worst online order site. I created a login and cannot even change it. It needs phone calls and you cannot find the number when they answer they do nothing. They say they will follow up and never do. Some pricing is good but I'm guessing once I get my first order which was already lost it will not be great. Aweful place. Spend more elsewhere. I was just on hold for 30 min than disconnected. Idiots. Use amazon.
Ordered a chair to replace one that broke. It wasn't the exact design but close enough. The price was good. The only complaint I have is that it arrived 2 days late. Not sure why. But satisfied with overall experience of ordering.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
