The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

We purchased a $1700. 00 fountain and after 1 and half years the fountain has an even crack all around the statue. Obviously a workmanship issue. Houzz or their vendor did not stand by their product or do anything to resolve the problem. We will never order through this company again and we strongly suggest that you avoid them at all costs.
We received a queen over queen bunk bed with multiple pieces broken!
That was about a month ago. We were told I would not come back and pick it up that we would have to dispose of broken pieces ourselves and we still haven't received the replacement items. Not only did we have to bring the entire bed upstairs only to find his is broken we then had to box it back up and bring it back downstairs to the garage which we were told is where they pick it up. Not only did we have to bring the entire bed upstairs only to find his is broken we then had to box it back up and bring it back downstairs to the garage which we were told is where they would pick it up... now we are being told that we have to dispose of the broken items ourselves and they will not come pick it up and they will send reacement items!

I finally have a new bathroom. Took some time to get to me because they are pretty booked but i can say it waa worth the wait. The worker was quick, friendly and professional. He had the job done in 2 days. He made sure we were satisfied with the work before he left. Love, love, love my bathroom now.
Hi Casey,

Called the main number on the website and spoke with a representative. I told them I needed to cancel our service. They said that it was taken care of and that service would end at the next billing cycle. I was given a case number and documented everything.
Fast forward to a week later, we get billed again. So I call up again to see what the issue is. This time I'm told that I needed to contact our "account manager" to cancel. I was given a name of an account manager that I don't have documentation for because it wasn't given to us. This leads me to believe the company has a high turnover which isn't surprising given the way they conduct business and their lack of communication skills.
So I call our new person and supposedly we needed to call 30 days prior to the contract extending which happen to fall a week after my first call. The "account manager" informs me of this and says he'll see what he can do since we did call before the contract renewed. Guess what? I never heard from him again.
Ultimately they give you the run around when trying to cancel. I do not recommend their "service" which is a stretch, they don't really do anything. Hundreds of dollars each month for no return. How they are an actual business is pretty mind boggling. Thankfully I have a lawyer friend with the state who will be looking into the validity of this company and it's practices.

So Houzz is not reliable to order from. I ordered something and was sent the wrong size. I sent MULTIPLE emails asking to be sent the right thing. NO RESPONSE AT ALL. They are not reliable. I will not order from them in the future

I posted a 1 star review of a kitchen designer in Bozeman, MT, Sage Kitchens, that was up for awhile. The owner of the company asked me to remove the post, and I was actually going to try, but discovered that Houzz had already done so! That ticked me off, so I edited the review, after reading Review and Acceptable Use policies (to make sure my review was compliant, which it was), and even added a star b/c the "designer" took money off the final order, but Houzz would still not post. I think they do some back channel siding with these companies, and if so, believe this is really improper, especially when some of these pros can cost people a lot of $. If Houzz is going to manipulate like this they might as well not have reviews at all. I'm thinking about some type of consumer complaint...

I should have read all these terrible reviews on Houzz nightmare stories before.
My company decided to advertise with Houzz for a year. We didn't land any projects from those leads, some of which never returned our calls to even make an appointment.
I called to cancel and was told that my account automatically renewed for a year and we would have to pay a penalty if we wanted out. Customer service is horrible and this is a complete and utter waste of money.

I would not even give it a one star. It's a cheap product for what you pay. Don't get value for money. Never again will I shop with this company.
It also came boxed with a damaged piece. Stupidly I signed it was in good condition when I hadn't seen it as boxed up with screws! I thought I was just signing that I had received it. Lesson learnt.

Delivery crew damaged our front steps while delivering this heavy desk and chipped the desk during the delivery process. The delivery company Schneider is denying the repair. Houzz has had almost two months to resolve this and still hasn't. I can't recommend a company with such poor customer service or that works with vendors that cause damage and then deny damage when my husband saw them with his own eyes. I've wasted hours on the phone and have gotten the run around. Extremely dissatisfied with this entire purchase process.

Placed a large order April 20,2019. Houzz got my money, processed the order and said it was out for delivery April 22. Today is May 9, no sight of furniture order and the Houzz representatives, the Lodeso (trucking agent) representatives, and even supervisory personnel seem unimpacted by the apparent fact that they work for stunningly incompetent, disinterested, disconnected fools who could care less about providing service or products.
They should all be embarrassed but apparently they would have to care to do that.

After making a couple of purchases through Houzz that were unpleasant, Houzz sent me a couple more discounts. There was request for a product review, where I'd receive $30 off my next purchase once completed. There was also a 15% discount on a separate purchase.
With the $30 coupon, I purchased two sets of shades. It turned out to be a pretty good deal. You will be lucky to find extra large blinds under $100 each that are custom-made. The communication with Houzz's vendor First Rate Blinds also was expedient.
With the 15% discount, I found a nice chandelier that was already discounted. Only three were left, so I quickly snatched it up.
I'm only waiting for the delivery of these products. I will add an update of their quality once received and installed.
Thanks Houzz. You truly are taking the steps to correct the past mistakes.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. First purchase: three pendant lights. Only one light was delivered, and I received an email that the order was complete thru one tracking number. I phone and told them this was WRONG. I was then told that the two others would be delivered in separate tracking numbers. In the meantime, because of the "inconvenience" I was given a 10% off coupon toward my next purchase. Eventually, I was relieved that my two other lights arrived (see photo), so I pulled the trigger and ordered a chandelier, using the 10% coupon. The very next day, Houzz contacted me saying THEY had cancelled the order. I called back and sent an email asking what happened to my product. Nobody has contacted me since. SCREW THEM.
Terrible company to do business with.
Avoid doing business not to lose time.
Lack of communication.
Terrible vendor support service.
Very outdated mechanics.
Approached our company with the wish to do business promising great traffic and quit in the middle of uploading products to the site. The only generic reason provided - products no longer fit the need of community.
Time and energy wasted on a very unprofessional business.
Unsatisfied Vendor.

I registered with Houzz Pro ONLY after being assured by their representative, *, that if I wasn't satisfied I could end my contract after 4 months. When I requested a cancellation of my contract due to a complete lack of follow through on their part as well as no leads, I was told that there is a 4 month fee to cancel services. This was my second attempt to work with Houzz with ZERO return on my investment.

After months of trying to get a hold of our account manager, and then anyone from Houzz through their 800 number and website, we finally got a response from a new account manager after we asked our credit card company to stop payments. The same thing is happening on this website - they obviously have someone from Houzz trying to do damage control - maybe if they put their money into customer service up front instead of hiring people to respond to every negative review on this site they could turn the company around. It would also help if their account executives were truthful about the terms of the contracts. Before you sign up for a Pro account, make sure to read 15. General Provisions f. Modifications. They hide this way down in the contract on purpose. As professionals we would NEVER treat our clients like Houzz treats us!

I wanted to take time to send a big thank you to Jason and his team for doing an outstanding job on our new bathroom. This was a challenging job as our house was built back in 1930, so as you can imagine there isn't a straight angle to be found. Jason and his team totally gutted our bathroom and took my wife's design to completion. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was something special. With all jobs there are challenges that inevitably come up, but Jason along with Joffery, one of his main guys, were there every time to address them and make them right.
The outcome of the job was that it exceeded our expectations. From the real barnboard walls, gorgeous cabinets, and the most beautiful walk in shower you can imagine, we couldn't be happier.
We are now looking forward to working with Han-Cor on our next project this coming fall, when we will be asking Jason and his team execute on my wife's new design or our bedroom which is attached to this new beautiful bathroom. We can't wait.
So, from the two us we want to thank Jason and Joffery for delivering on this beautiful project.

Paid Houzz for one year pro package. Recieved no leads. Did not renew contract for 2019. Out of the blue my credit card had 3 charges of 225 in the month of march. They said I was still under contract. No invoice no authorization on my part to pay monthly. I cant be the only one who has experienced this business pra times. Is there any class action suits in the works?

I'm a Design Build contractor, and Houzz offered me a "pro" marketing package, $500 a month for a year. I got about 2-3 leads on projects after the first two months, and then I got nothing from them for 9 straight months. I got fake addresses, and calls from states I don't work in, and one project where the lead had already been sent to several companies months before mine when I expressed my dissatisfaction with their service. I told them I wanted out halfway through, and they said I couldn't because I was on an annual contract. I told them that once the contract is up, I want out of the service. When that month came, I wrote to them and called them to make sure I was out, and they ignored my emails and calls. One helpful rep finally emailed me, much later,... to tell me that I was auto-renewed, and I had to pay $2,000, or 4 months worth of the program first before I left. I explained the situation to her on the phone, and she was relentless, and said that I needed to send an official written notice of cancellation, which I had done (not in the way their policy accepts). Another rep lied to the rep I spoke to, telling her that I had been notified that I needed to send written cancellation, and documented it falsely.
I had to tell my credit card company and bank to reject their charges, I'm not even sure how it will pan out, but I'm guessing the scam doesn't stop when you stop giving them your bank account after the experience I had. It is an absolute scam, immoral policies and practices. Don't use this even if you are a design oriented contractor, it will hurt your business deeply. It cost me over $6,000 and potentially dealing with more of them after.

I wanted to order some counter stools from Houzz. They had to contact the vendor and create a post for me to purchase the items as the vendor had to send them to Houzz.
At the time of my initial contact they quoted me a price.
I was told to wait a few days so they could create the order.
A few days later the woman from Houzz called and I gave her my credit card info and it was only when I asked her to verify the total, that she admitted the price had increased by $119 x 2 for a total of $238 more. So, when was she going to tell me this? I was shocked and questioned why the increase.
She blamed the vendor and when I asked if I could at least apply the Groupon code of $100 for new Houzz customers, she said she didn't think it would be a valid code. I told her that, according to the Groupon site, 39 people had successfully used it that day. So, she reluctantly said she'd try. Mind you I had added additional items to my cart so I was spending well over $1,000.
She then reported that the code had expired in Nov. 2018. Not true, if you believe Groupon (which I use a lot and have no reason to doubt).
The best she could do was to use a $50 code.
I didn't believe her. So, I asked to speak w/ a supervisor but she said she would. She returned to the call to report that the supervisor (whom I never got to speak with... a bad sign when the supervisor won't speak with a customer) said there was nothing that could be done.
So I told the sales rep.not to put the order through and I would take my business elsewhere.
All I can say is that if a company does this sort of thing, even before a sale, I shudder to think what their after sales support is like.
Oh, think I know... there would be none.
Needless to say, I will not be purchasing a single thing from them... ever.

Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
