Ordered a figurine from their website and received the completely wrong item. Asked if I could get it replaced or refunded but nothing was done about it, so now I'm stuck with an item I didn't want.
I paid 17.99 EXPEDITED shipping when I WAS GETTING EARRINGS and the Harry Potter PILLOW CASES TOO... NOW OF COURSE JUST EARRINGS AND PAID OUT THE $#*! FOR SHIPPING AND THEY ARE JUST NOW IN TENNESSEE? I WANT A REFUND IMMEDIATELY.
I EMAILED YOU WELL IN TIME TO CANCEL THE ENTIRE ORDER ONCE YOU TOLD ME YOU HAD NO PILLOWCASES... AND THEN PROCEED TO TELL ME I HAVE A SHORT WINDOW OF TIME TO DO IT? IT WAS WITHIN MINUTES. This is for my granddaughters birthday and they best MAKE IT.
YOU MESSED OVER THE WRONG ONE
I LOVE the HotTopic in the mall. The staff there are usually helpful and the store is relatively clean (a bit crowded though).
Their online store... what a joke. I tried to order two watched on December 26th which I only did because the shipping was free over $30 (the shipping to Alberta is $31.00 which is double what the watch alone would have cost so I ended up finding another watch as well to make the order up to 30) I had to call in to make sure the shipping was going to come off and the guy helping said it would. He said the order went through but then I immediatley received an email saying it was cancelled (I was not charged) and both items were out of stock but was assured a note was on my account so I could get the shipping free in the future. I saw the watches again online today and called to order them. After the exchange rate I should have been charged $47 and some change. I was charged double that. When I called back (2 hours later) they said there is nothing they can do at this point and I either have to call back after I receive another email confirming that they have been sent OR I can refuse the package when it eventually comes. Total bull$#*!.
Never purchase anything from them online. I recently purchased items online. AFTER the order they starting emailing me that things were out of stock. I called to cancel but they refused and LIED to me saying they eventually cancelled it. They never did. There is no manager or loyalty department to help you. NEVER AGAIN!
Got a slipknot shirt & I love it.
Love hot topic never had any problems!
I bought three tee shirts and a vest the other day from Hot Topic. A few hours later I ran back to exchange the tees for smaller sizes (vest was unchanged). The cashier asked if I wanted the original receipt back and, like a dummy, I said no.
Later on I started worrying about whether the vest would need to be returned... and the fact I'd have to take a store credit since I no longer had the original receipt. I went to the store, explained my situation, and the two girls were very helpful. They went into the back room and found my original receipt, and also printed out a duplicate receipt for me. They were extremely polite, didn't get annoyed at having to do a few minutes of looking around, etc.
Figured I'd write something positive on their behalf.
I bought Potter Hufflepuff Girls Cardigan as a birthday gift and believe the receiver will be thrilled, I will find out this Sunday, I have not given it yet I can say the quality is excellent and arrived very fast, I will be buying more from them for Christmas gifts
Hot Topic store, Ridgedale Shopping centre, Minneapolis.
Purchased a Tee for my daughter, size Small, for cash.
Did not keep receipt. The size turned out to be wrong, not surprising as the size means nothing in those tees. Went back to the shop on October 23rd, 2016 to ask if they can swap Small size for Medium size. The tee mind you is still unworn, with original tag on it, with Hot Topic written on it. The shop girl refused on the ground that computer will take it.
Avoid this shop with low quality merchandise and idiotic staff.
I really love Hot Topic. After what I had experienced through their online service, I am disappointed. I am a big fan of the anime Sword Art Online, so I ordered a shirt off of there. It said it was in stock so I ordered it. I then got an email saying it was out of stock. I called them, and the guy had told me that their site does not update and it can sometimes say in stock when it's not or out of stock when it's not. The it took them 1-2 weeks for my refund but at least I got it. I also tried sending them Facebook messages and all they did was send me my tracking number or tell me to wait or to call them. Every single time after that has been okay.
I purchased several items online. The receipt that came with the items specifically stated there is a 60 day return policy. The items met every one of the stipulations required for a money back return. When the items were taken to the store for return They were rejected and said to be "clearance". The items are in fact still listed on the website at regular price and are not clearance. The store used to be customer friendly but with the change of the store manager has become not only hostile but dishonest.
Hot topic seems like the type of place where I would be able to purchase superman items, however, they are so biased on Batman and that bothers me. I understand that maybe batman merchandise may sell faster, but there are still people who don't like batman and have a different preference. Just saying. This is probably my most immature sounding review, but it is the truth.
I have terrible social anxiety, and the Hot Topic I went to is fairly small and cramped, which caused my anxiety to start up. I had an anxiety attack and was shaking, I couldn't stand or walk, my vision was blurry and I couldn't breathe. My friend hugged me to help me calm down, and just held me. Nothing inappropriate. A worker walks up and starts yelling at us that we have to leave because it's PDA and unacceptable. My friend calmly tried to explain that I was having an anxiety attack and needed to calm down. The worker continued to yell at me, and made it much worse. My friend wound up having to carry me outside, and I still had a lot of trouble calming down. I'm terrified of going back just because of that one worker.
I have 4 kids and Hottopic seems to always have something everyone in my family loves. We have ordered online multiple times and we love everything we have bought from them! The quality is really good as well!
The whole situation was bad. Like wow. So I ordered the Pikachu cardigan online. It is ABSOLUTELY not like the picture the black of the cardigan shows through pikachus yellow body. It makes pikachu look infected. In the picture online it looks PERFECT. I tried 3 times to post a review saying how unhappy I was with the (expensive) product. I haven't even worn it. It's an ugly cardigan and a total waste, I'd post a picture if I could. I made a side by side of what they show on the website and what I got. It's HORRIBLE. None of my reviews were posted because they didn't follow the rules. I had family read the reviews. Only thing we can think of is they wouldn't post it because I was honest about the product or because I said I'd never shop with hottopic again. But now here's the real issue. I don't live super close to a hottopic. That's why I ordered online. But to return we made the drive to North bend outlet mall where there's a hottopic I've been to once before. The first time I was there the guy was nice. Second time when I tried returning the cardigan? Nope. He said it was wet and that it smelled modly? After I received it and saw how UGLY it was i put it back in the bag until we could drive to the store and return it. It had no smell besides factory smell like all clothes have and it definitely wasn't wet. I've sent two emails to the hottopic website and haven't gotten a thing back (it's been a week). Do not shop with hottopic topic. Expensive, horrible customer, bad products and just a bad experience. I now have an expensive cardigan that's absolutely worthless. Again, I will N. E. V. E. R. Shop with hottopic again. Unprofessional.
The fabric of the dress I got is great, and this site has lots of items for fandom. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my dress has pockets.
I like this store a lot. I've had one bad customer service experience with them, though Still Hot Topic has my favorite things. Love all the band shirts. Great shot glass collection too.
Several weeks ago I ordered a dress from hottopic.com for my daughter to wear two days from now to her graduation. I was charged $34! Shipping for one dress, but we live in the Virgin Islands, shopping is limited for what she likes to wear, and hottopic.com didn't give me any shipping options, so I bit the bullet and bought it. When it hadn't arrived by last week, and I re-checked FedEx and saw it wouldn't arrive until June 9, six days after graduation, I called customer service. The young woman was very nice and said she would send out the dress overnight. (No longer had my daughter's size in that dress, so she had to pick out another.) Great, I thought, overnight. Not great. It didn't arrive overnight but it was Memorial Day weekend so we were sure it would arrive Tues. Nope. FedEx website said by Wednesday. Nope. Now FedEx website says June freaking 23rd. Back on the phone with hottopic.com and after at least 30 mins, Emele tells me they don't ship FedEx overnight to the VI. (I told the first cust svc agent that, because it's too expensive and she said, "well that's how we ship.") I thought perhaps it would go USPS - why not use USPS hottopic.com?? It was at this point in the conversation with Emele, when I asked couldn't they ship it Express Mail, that she hung up on me, xferring back to the initial call-in recording. Graduation is in two days and no dress. Thanks for, literally, nothing hottopic.
I like the chain a lot but I was very uncomfortable at this location and won't be going back. Good customer service is one thing but the Assistant Manager takes it to a whole new, creepy level. He is married and so am I but he really laid it on thick, constantly flirted with me, and somehow always found reasons to be near me (looking through items at the same places I was looking through them, rearranging stock at another location where I was, etc.) and talk to me. A friend was with me and she can corroborate this.
He used a ladder near my dressing room while I was trying on bathing suits, so he could easily have seen over the door. He also invited me into the back room, which he calls the "inner sanctum". The icing on the cake, though (yes, I'm being sarcastic) was when he sent me selfies that were taken in the Hot Topic bathroom. In the pictures he was wearing underwear and a smile, if you catch my drift.
I went to another store to have my personal information taken out of the computer system so he had no way to contact me. That store's Manager had his District Manager get in touch with me. I told her what happened, but when she spoke to him he lied and denied everything.
I also blocked him on all social media (or so I thought). On 5/26/16 I got a threatening message on Yelp from the person I mentioned in this review, and his wife made a new Facebook profile just to harass and threaten me (I have blocked those profiles and reported him to Yelp). He's trying to shut me up because he doesn't want people (especially his wife) to hear the truth about him.
I have gone to the police and filed a harassment report. I also had my lawyer send them a cease-and-desist letter, demanding that they leave me alone. If either of them gets in touch with me again, I will be pressing formal harassment charges.
I'm a grown woman who can easily handle unwanted attention, but I can't help but worry about the underage female workers and customers who may easily be intimidated by him, especially if he is their superior.
Horrible customer service. Would not allow my return of a defective product within a two week time period.
Good products, customer service is alright, the shipping has been known to be unpredictable. Sometimes super fast, others a little slow.
If buying Christmas presents from here, make sure to order months earlier.
Answer: It takes 1-2 days to process your order. Once they ship it, it takes 2-7 days to arrive if you live in the lower 48 states. I don't know about elsewere.
Answer: Nope most definitely a ripoff version. They alot of ripoff stuff on the site. The pictures are many times the product your not getting
Answer: The high wasted jeans are some of the best, they have some really comfortable jeans. They fit very well. :)
