I liked that the Information was given when asked, but I don't liked that the issue took longer than the expected, and by the social media announcements it was a shorter time than the real time that it needed to be solved, since our site needs to be live at least at 2 important times in the 7 days of the week

Four of my websites FINALLY got live after two weeks of my time and untold hours of my time begging to get them working again. While I am grateful for you finally get them working, someone should have checked the new server long before now and seen they needed to be upgraded to work on the new server.
Took too long to resolve issue... very poor communication. Almost left HostGator

I have used hostgator for many years without major issues until the last 2 years I have had 2 major downtime due to SSL certificate not being installed properly or misconfigured. In both cases it took more than 4 days with constant follow ups until the issues were resolved.
They can definitely improve their first line customer service to resolve the issue the first time the issue is reported instead of "escalation" which essentially postpones your request another 24-48 hours.

I'm sure it's as good or better than any other host site. But, it's not like someone with no computer or online training and experience can just step in a create a site. In fairness, someone who can't read can't sit down and write a book either. In the end, I hired my Son to set up the page. Easy way out.

The techs do not listen. Kept sending confirmation emails to a mail box that was not accessible. This caused our site and email to be down for 9 days.
It was pleasant. I was attended to well and my questions were answered.
