I am a light user. I have a blog where I post two or three times a week. It is not a blog that I advertise. Half a dozen (or less) friends know that it exists. For my uses, I have only one complaint: supposedly my blog should be accessed by my_blog.com (fictitious name), but it only works with my_blog.com/home. I tried all the tricks in the book to remove /home, that I could find, without success.
It would be better without the frequently pointless emails
My experience with HostGator in technical issue is good, but in payment issue not good, many time I receive wrong invoices.
