Historically I've been impressed with this platform and the support in particular, however in the last year I've notice with increasing consistency the support staff does NOT understand the platform or basic technical foundations. When I'm arguing "propagation" with settings that DO NOT go beyond the specific server settings and I have to point out the technical realities there is something very very wrong. This is but one such interaction where it is glaringly clear that tech just does not understand the question or the technology they support. This does not bode well... be thankful that I only docked one star.
I purchased UNLIMITED HOSTING and 24-7 technical assistance back in 2007 and host gator was AWESOME (BACK THEN). Lately, they outsourced all their customer support and tech support to a third world country and my technical issues were: 1) I have not had business emails resolved and no business emails in my back office for EIGHT MONTHS. I keep calling and asking them to fix it and NOT ONCE has my issue been resolved. 2). I called tech support and asked for my website to be cloned as I bought a second subdomain and wanted to make a backup website to make a few minor changes and the morons didn't know how to help me clone it. I hung up, called back several times and each technician said that I am not allowed to clone my own website with a domain I owned and purchased? WTF Hostgator! You use to be such an AWESOME company and went downhill- and got cheap help while firing your awesome highly skilled techs that were from the good old USA! Im after 16 years of being a loyal customer, I am LEAVING THIS COMPANY FOREVER. SO- SAD that you sold out!

The new interface is terrible. My Codeguard portal disappeared and now i cannot access it. The quality is not good, some lines are thicker than the other. I looks like an unfinish project that was pushed without proper testing completely disregarding the customers.

Hostgator scammed me of 35 pounds after i purchased a domain that was on error and your customer service told me that it has been cancelled. I was told to start expecting my refund in 24 hours after the 24 hours i didnt receive any thing and when i requested to know why after several attempts, several days, i was told that i cant get a refund for something i didnt buy? Till date after many chats with you guys you ended up taking the money. Hostgator are the worst. Even before the domain will work or propergate, you have to chat with them to activate ssl and others. Their service is a crap.
Many issues and alot of time and hard work to replace websites and the server always has issues when being indexed by google may indexing errors
Some history is missing to my account also why I must to have one payment left,why to left any payment I don't like my payment to be exposed so I don't like to be leaved here in the account but I can't remove it., that's not god so I'm disappointed after 15 years with your company :(
The recently updated user interface lacks user-friendliness, and despite having paid for the service, I am confronted with intrusive ads upon logging in. This is not the experience I anticipated from a paid version of the service.
