It took nine months to get a problem that was preventing any editing or development of the website fixed. The problem was eventually corrected by customer service, but I paid for nine months that I could not use. They refused a credit or refund for those unusable months even though the problem had to be fixed on their end. I will be transferring my hosting elsewhere.
I am unhappy with new format. No way to easily see billing history, future billing. AND, I paid $143 for hosting last year and now you want a 42% increase to $203. Are you serious?
Hostgator turned off "catchall" on my windows shared account, which immediately caused me to stop receiving ALL of my emails! I have been with Hostgator for over 6 years - so even if you changed the policy to not support catchall feature, you should have informed all users that you will turn it off so that won't suddenly loose their emails!
Your customer service reps are NOT knowledgeable and each one provided conflicting information. Your support articles are outdated according to your reps, yet you still have them on your website and some reps still give them to customers as an answer for support
I wrongly assumed that choosing one of the big names in web hosting would offer me peace of mind. It did not.
Every month, I had to get in touch with customer support because our website was down and the issue was resolved for the most part but only for a day or two only.
Our website is very simple, it has no log-in, no comment boxes and no payments can be made through it either. It is text-based, read-only for the most part and I was "pushed" (out of ignorance and fear) into purchasing a Sitelock and codeguard subscription.
Very disappointed with this service.

Your new portal is less customer friendly; it is too much pushing to sell something new and it is not smooth, means it looks like not finished constructions... Some messages do not disappear, even when I click X, and disturbing the whole work..

I have a domain registered on this account. Previously it was pointed and connected to a website I have on another platform. My registration with HostGator had expired and I was not using the website. I renewed the registration in August of 2023. Since that time I have made several attempts to reconnect the domain to the website. One of the first agents at your company was extremely rude and refused to assist me. I was told to contact the company that hosts my website and get help from them, this was usually done by agents at HostGator. I did contact the hosting organization and they input the information to point the DNS to my website. After waiting an extremely long time, I contacted HostGator again and was told by an agent to give it time to propagate. That should have taken place by then. I have made several attempts to resolve this issue and at this point I am truly frustrated. Today I had someone from my hosting organization attempt to connect it again and was told several of your servers are down. I took a screenshot to email to someone in management. Again I am contacting your company to fix this matter.

Working with your tech support team is painful. I have issues with my DNS that I want help or guidance to get it cleaned up and I never get it. They are always trying to get me to turn my CPanel hosting back on to manage DNS - It took me a MONTH and multiple contacts to get my Cpanel canceled - and it only did because it expired - I had one person telling me I'd get a refund of unused time on the hosting package - then I didn't - and when I switched to a monthly package with in 2 months the monthly hosting rate went up by $10/month -... and the list goes on... AND none of your tech support seems to know that you can manage DNS through the Customer portal. Hmmm I'm done here and as soon as I can, I'm removing the remainder of my domains to NameCheap - I've been here for over 14yrs, You use to be the best, and now you rank with the worst.
We have used Host Gator for 5 years now to host our Business Website. Very few problems and their support group is great!
I chose it because my dad uses it and I like Weebly. I would leave if there was no Weebly, I am not a fan of Wordpress.

Reseller hosting is not secure at all my all data deleted my accounts are not secure
Simply difficult to find what need at any given time. Ex: cant go directly to the managers of domains - gotta go thru email the look for it - can set ftp's - just difficult
The updated interfaces are cumbersome and not very user friendly. Sometimes the nest updates are smaller, more meaningful. If it ain't broke, don't fix it
It was a nice deal! However they cut my storage from unlimited to 10GB breaking my site as I used 21 GB! I consider them thieves as my time has not yet expired!
