The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Trimmed large limbs on three oak trees that were dead or hung over house.
When I asked, who could help me with a wood floor installation, I had received immediately call from Mr. Williams. We met next day and he soon started a job. I am very pleased whit the result.
I was poking around Home Advisor, and did not realize I set the ball in motion, and before I knew it, had several calls come in from folks offering their services. The first contractor was a no-show on appointed date, calling to announce they were going to arrive in 30 minutes, the day the 2nd contractor I hired was due. The 2nd contractor didn't finish the job and I was very unhappy, and so I hired a 3rd. While I did get a good crew on the 3rd try, and left what I think is a good review for them, I'm not sure how to leave terrible reviews for the first two.
Good recommendations of excellent contractors. They gave competitive pricing that was much better than guarantee pricing.
We were referred by your company to three different installers. We chose to go with Ahmed because he was very knowledgeable about the product he represented. He took his time in explaining exactly what he was going to do, approximately how long it would take and what we could expect. He also was very punctual, respectful and polite.
I received the new garage door in the time promised and it took his crew approximately 2 hrs to install. Everything was left clean. I will absolutely refer him to my friends.
We had three rather expensive ceiling fans sitting down in our basement and wanted to install them in rooms that had no fans. HomeAdvisor recommended Premier Alarms and Electric. Premier called me immediately, an appointment was set for an estimate, estimate was acceptable, date was set for installation of the fans, they showed up, did their work, and were cordial and respectful during the whole process. I have never regreted using HomeAdvisor and would use again for my next project.
I was contacted and hired Chris and his company with in two hours of my call.
Good, but would be better if I could review all contractors before they contact me and choose the one I want.
Valencia and her Team are excellent! They are fast, professional and efficient. As the General Manager of a large auto dealership in San Diego I know quality workmanship and appreciate great customer service. That is the way Valencia does it in our home-at very reasonable rates!
Went to website, answered some questions, matched up with a company, setup appointment, company called me back to confirm, had work done.
Very nice very fast response very professional and nice!
I needed a water heater repaired/replaced. I filled out the project inquiry and Josh responded. Less than 24 hours later he had me fixed and at a very reasonable cost. I would highly recommend
Easy to locate a business for the work I needed to have done.
Because the software finally gave me a blank page after I answered all the questions, I had to call customer service, and they gave me the recommendation. That isn't the first time I've had trouble with this site's software. But I'm very happy with the plumber that was recommended.
Had some pros that didn't show up or respond to calls. Overall, did find some good pros that did the job. Due wish that some would do a better job and go the extra mile. Had some drywall done for a portion of ceiling that was removed due to a leak. The pro did not touch any of the surrounding area that needed to be cut out and patched as well. I would have paid the extra cost if needed.
I went on line and contacted a specific contractor. I did not go on Home Advisor. Apparently Home Advisor saw my contact to this specific contractor and contacted Henry Arguetas and forwarded my information to him. He immediately contacted me. The contractor who I contacted directly did not get back to me. I met with Henry Arguetas and was very impressed. I have worked with contractors for 40 years and Henry Arguetas is by far the best. The work he did for me was excellent. I feel very lucky.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
