The companies that work with Home Advisor - great, no issues. I want to talk about Home Advisor itself. This company is an absolute scam. Do not give them any of your business, especially if you are a contractor looking to use their listing services.
When I worked with them, as a contractor, I was charged for every single thing, even if I couldn't contact a "lead". I spent more time disputing charges for fake, unresponsive, or unrelated leads than I did working due to Home Advisor's poor screening and poor customer service.
Additionally, they will not give you any type of support for client issues. For example, I lost over $800 because someone refused to pay me and Home Advisor did nothing. This person isn't even banned from using Home Advisor, which is the bare minimum.
Business owners: stay away. Far, far away from this scam.

Had tv taken down off the wall and remouted, had a company before Christmas mount my TV above my fireplace and they did a horrible job. They missed the studs on 2 of the 4 bolts and rounded off the screws on the mount that holds the tv to the mount

Home Advisor helped me get bids and find a company to build our fence. They recommended high quality companies that were available for the job and who came highly recommended by previous customers.
My first time to use this service so part of the problem may have been my lack of knowledge and with rainy weather figured in I felt a lot of pressure to get something done. One company had their estimator out to our house within an hour of my signing in, but they never provided a written bid or photos of the job... texted the rep a couple of times but he never followed up or came by again. Several other companies on the list never called or made contact so we ended up with one contact and one bid. The crew of two arrived at 9:30 and left at 3 minus a lunch break and it cost us $3600 which included about 12 tile replacements. Even with the estimators time and office staff's time it seems like a lot of money for the time involved... did a great job!

We highly recommend Garrett Pressure Washing. Arrived on time and are hard workers. They cleaned up when finished. Price was very reasonable. They went above and beyond what we expected. We hired them to clean our metal roof, the gutters and down spouts. They did a fantastic job on them and then they even did extra work and cleaned the front porch where the white paint had green growth on it. Now it is bright white and so clean. They also washed off the storm door and windows. Best workers we have ever hired. We will definitely be calling them again.
Home Advisor has been really good with their choices. They have saved me a couple thousand dollars and I found that I can trust in the people they have chosen to do the work I needed. Their recommendations were spot on and the workers were on time, neat and professional. I will continue to use Home Advisor for all my needs.
