The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Garrett does good work in a timely fashion and leaves the job site clean.
Scheduled move out cleaning 3 weeks prior to move out date. Home advisor called and cancelled appointment an hour prior to arrival. Wanted to reschedule it for the day after I moved out. Find a local person to do whatever job you need done and do not use this middle man who will not guarantee anything.
After paying the 25 dollars to get a quote the advisor called me and I explained my project which was to complete the siding on a modular home that was set 2 weeks ago I was told that they would be happy to refund my 25 dollars and they were not interested becuase I already have some of the siding up.
So when i see another one of there commercials I will know they are lying to the public.
I got 3 contractors quickly and was able to get estimates in a timely manner.
It was very easy and the response was quick. I used my phone to place an order for lawn services yesterday and here they are today. It puts my mind at ease to know my lawn is under control. Lawn Gurus are very professional and I would recommend them to others.
I received two estimates, one showing understanding of the project (Sparrow) and another just interested primarily in painting.
Home Advisor recommended three companies. The first company, Aegis Surveillance & Security, came out for the appointment, took the information, and never contacted me again. The second company, Texas Surveillance & Networking, did a fine job. The third company did not return my call for about four days (6 days including the weekend) and I told them to forget it. I am thinking there were some problems in information transfer between the person who took my call and the salesman who finally returned my call.
Website was a little clunky, but I was able to get a couple of referrals, both of whom responded by phone within 6 hours. I chose one and he did the job the next day, so the job was completed 24 hours after I visited the website. This was much faster than I had expected. Very satisfied with the experience.
Home advisor follow up every so often checking to see if my project has progressed and offered help if I needed
Price was a bit higher than HomeAdvisor Fixed Cost estimate but the job was done professionally, timely, and fully satisfied.
I booked a service and no-one showed up. When your trying to figure out which company you ordered to come to your house on a saturday to clean your yard, you cannot locate any company names or phone numbers so you have to call homeadvisor directly who claims they do not see any bookings. And then I get an email later saying sorry about the bad service. So confusing? Homeadvisor rescheduled the yard service and charged me all this morney and no-one showed up again. This happed three times now, so I asked for my money back. Still waiting for money back for a service I never received. NEVER AGAIN
The handyman was straight forward and understood my need. He arrived promptly on the date of service. He worked continuously and was professional.
With the contractor, great. Home advisor don't bother with them. Have tried to use them before, was a failure, was this time also.
Easy to find matched companies to do the roof repair. After the first one, Bulldog roofing disappeared after inspection. Home advisor reached out to me and helped to find another company, Roof Tech Advisor, which is awesome! They came and fix the leaking in the same day. So overall good experience with HomeAdvisor. Will use it to find services I need in the future.
No info to start with the company. They lai about everything and to expensive fees, I dot recommend it to no ones...
I received several replies from contractors so I wasn't limited by choices. Most of the contractors got back with me within a couple of days, also.
The girls worked very hard to get my place clean. They paid attention to little details and did a wonderful job.
This was the third time I looked to Home Adviser for professional help and the third time I have been completely satisfied. I had a need that was met quickly by qualified professionals. The jobs have been done well and the people involved have always been communicative, friendly and hard working.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
