Ordered a custom suit for an event and was delivered the cheapest quality items I've ever seen (velcro attachments and measurements 6+ inches off to the point I was wondering if I was delivered someone else's suit) and when going through the adjustment process was not given a solution to have it altered adequately or returned. All sales are final according to hockerty and their products are absolute trash. Save yourself some money and either go in person to a shop or order from Proper Cloth which has been the complete opposite experience. I'll never buy a thing on hockerty again.
Hockerty are a little hit and miss, it has to be said. Their customer service can be good but the tailoring has become somewhat random. I took up the offer of a store credit (they don't give refunds) after a suit arrived that was far too small. It was adjusted and came back pretty much unchanged - made for a large child. So, I had another go with a pair of chino trousers for my son (costing £100). They arrived and were way too small - 5 cms below the measurements in my son's profile. Sergio declined to take the garment back without photographs of the trousers being worn. What additional evidence this would provide he was unable to explain. For reasons we needn't go into, posting the trousers to my son isn't an option, so I've given them to a charity shop and written off the (not inconsiderable) cost. Charles Tyrwhitt in Jermyn St has very nice Moleskin trousers going for considerably less than the Hockerty chinos and they fit very nicely I must have spent a couple of thousand pounds with Hockerty but I'm afraid it's farewell.
PS: beware the £17 belt - it's very poor quality plastic.
Service:
The website was easy to navigate.
The website had the videos showing how to measure the body. That was helpful.
Delivery process was pretty much smooth. It was delivered in 3 weeks after the order was confirmed.
The tracking site was a bit weird because it provided the original expected date and changed the date to three days later and got delayed again to another three days later but came in the second suggested date yet the website still think that it hasn't been delivered.
The packing was alright. It came in a black bag in the picture and that was wrapped in a plastic bag.
Quality:
I've made custom made suit by a similar online service in Japan, so I knew my size. However, I put a little bigger numbers because I thought I could alter if it was a little bigger but it's impossible otherwise. Thus, it needs to be altered.
The fabric and and style were quite accurate as the image displays in the website.
As you can see in the picture, it's got wrinkles when it arrived from being packaged up for a long time.
Overall, it was pretty good experience with them. To be honest, it's not the finest suit I've ever seen but it's what you can get for the price.
The price was £210.
The color is burgundy.
The fabric is polyester.
I customised the inner lining.
I ordered 5 shirts. I got my measurements and added a half inch to each measurement to ensure a slightly bigger shirt in case I need to have adjustments made. When I received my shirts, every single shirt was wrong. The shoulders were all too small and every sleeve was too short. There is no phone number to call to talk with someone and their email communication is atrocious. No refunds and when they ask you to send back the shirts, THE CUSTOMER has to pay for shipping. They messed up my order but I have to pay to fix it? This company is a joke.
Terrible suit unfit to wear from the moment it was received (which they shipped a 3 piece suit similarly to how you would ship a bath towel folded). There were numerous wrinkles that a dry cleaner and steamer couldn't get out. The material was scratched from the get go and looked like a cat was let loose on it. I would warn everyone to stay away from Hockerty and use a brand like Indochino or others with physical locations. I am considering donating it to charity before wearing it out a single time but hesitate because If I wouldn't wear it why should I force someone less fortunate to.
Terrible company - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FOLKS - my order was incorrect - had to provide documentation and photo to them - they agreed - sent me a list of alteration contacts - most not in business - many hours of my time wasted - went to alteration specialist who stated that it could not be corrected. They refused to refund or accept return. Wasted hours of my time and $ down the drain.
Excellent! Excellent!
After giving up on buying an off-the-shelf suit, I saw the Hockerty website. I must say that I was highly impressed with the website and their instruction on how to take measures and customize the suit. It really looks like they know the business, and doing the utmost for the customer to customize his suits.
I ordered a suit and started counting the days to get it. During that time I read several negative reviews about the company, which I must say, made me feel worried.
However, after 2 weeks, the suit was shipped, and I tracked its way to me. It took another week for the suit to arrive, and it was GREAT!
The suit was perfect, exactly as I ordered, and it felt so good to wear it. The fabric is of good quality, and the workmanship is perfect.
I'm on my way now to order two more suits.
I have ordered from Hockerty since they were Tailor4Less (10+ years). On my last order of 13 dress shirts, 5 were sent without the collar interliner or sewn in collar stays. I reached out to customer service about the manufacturing issue.
Customer service proceeded to tell me I choose "soft collars" in the customization. I explained I did not and that "soft collars" was not even an option to choose. I was then told on the advanced version of their website it was an option. I emailed back that I was not even aware there was an advanced version of their website and would be happy to show them via Zoom what my configuration options are. They responded back, sorry I choose the option and they made the shirts as I requested therefore they would do nothing.
So I am now stuck with 5 of 13 dress shirts that are made incorrectly. After 10+ years, I will never order from Hockerty again and I suggest you save yourself the same frustration and lost money.
Very rarely do I leave negative reviews but felt compelled to do so in this instance. I purchased a custom tuxedo shirt for the first time for my daughter's wedding. Normally, I buy off the rack because we can't afford to buy custom shirts so this was a special occasion. The shirt showed up without the proper button holes. When I contacted customer service, they refused to make things right or even consider that a mistake had been made. Very unethical.
As soon as walked into tent that they tried to pass off as pants I had a sudden urge to sing hammer time. This wouldn't have been to bad had the jacket been long enough to reach my bellybutton.
Beware of their replacement policy. They will try to fleece you of more money if you ask for any changes.
Shady practices, do not use them. Ordered a coat, but cancelled it 3h later after seeing negative reviews. They gave me the cancellation and started the refund. 2 days later, they withdrew the refund from the bank and put the order back as active without any notification. Now they refuse to respond to my messages and I can't cancel a 2nd time because more than 24h passed.
Actually, I would like to write a very positive review about well-fitting suits. Unfortunately I feel cheated by the Hockerty company. I had already ordered my first suit with the paid extra "suspender buttons". When these weren't available and I couldn't find anything about them later on the internet when overviewing my order, I still thought I had made a mistake myself. When I ordered three suits and one pair of pants, after all, in the order of more than 1700 €, I of course checked 10 times whether I really ordered this extra. And it could also be read everywhere, even after the order had been placed.
Today the suits are coming - without suspender buttons! They are suddenly no longer visible in the order overview (but the price has not been reduced), except for the individual pants.
I then spent hours trying to call up a contact form, there is no "Open Support Ticket" button, nor is there an email address or a telephone number. So there is no way to complain.
And if paid extras disappear from the order but are not deducted from the price, then money is obviously being asked for a service that is not provided.
In any case, I won't be ordering from Hockerty again. The suits are good in themselves, but if I feel betrayed I can't enjoy them. I'll take the suit pants to the tailor now. If I add up these costs plus the paid extras without service, the price has easily increased by more than 100 €.
The site asks you to give them measurements for the article of clothing you desire, then they change them without alerting you to this. My husband also asked for a long coat, and their definition is nothing more than a picture of the item, not saying this is their version of long. If you want it longer you have to tell them within 24 hrs which it doesn't mention. This is confusing as several years ago, my husband ordered a long winter coat in long and received different results. They need to have very specific instructions on what you need to do and how to do it. Now he's stuck with a less than product. Never ordering from them again.
I did all of the measurements but the metric can't adjust for a large American body. If you are skinny small person maybe try. I also think they misrepresent the fabric quality.
Another perfection of this mother f**ker company,
PANTS BARELY LASTED 2 MONTHS, CAN'T REPAIR CAN'T DO ANYTHING, GOOD FOR THE GARBAGE.
PANTS RIPPED AT THE BOTTOM
CHEAP MATERIAL
CHEAP WORKMANSHIP
CHEAP QUALITY
Atrocious company. They sent a defective garment (the defect rendered the garment useless for the required purpose). They they refused to either rectify the defect or issue a refund and let me return the garment.
Despite what the the misleading website implies, they are are apparently registered in Zurich, with the garments made in Shanghai. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with this company and find a reputable tailor.
Quality is poor, customer service is unprofessional.
There are no telephone contacts in case you want to call for support. I was not able to return an item with manufacturing defects
I which I had read the numerous bad review.
Not recommend
I paid approximately $150 per shirt. I bought 4 shirts. One in particular - the white shirt - I was extremely disappointed with the material and the fit. I tried to return it for a different material and reaffirm the measurements (the 4 shirts all fit a bit differently - some better than others). Instead, I received a long explanation as to why they could not do anything about the material. They expected the pictures to accurately depict the material which is not the case. The value of the shirts is poor. Considerably overpriced. The shirts are made in China and I suspect the cost of the shirts - even given they are made to measure is considerably less than what they charge and that is reflected in the look of the shirts.
If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. My suit came 4 weeks late and was not sized correctly at all. That in and of itself is bad, but the experience since then has been even worse. Can't talk to a human, can't navigate the website to file a "support ticket", only am being redirected in loops by bots with smiley faces.
Answer: Don't order from this company if you are looking for a quality product. If, on the other hand, you are looking for poor quality fabric, shoddy tailoring, poor customer service and a high price, by all means, order from this company.
Answer: Our delivery time is currently 2 weeks from the moment of online payment to home delivery. We need at least 15 days to tailor and deliver an order matching our standards. It is thus unfortunately impossible to reduce the delivery delay, even against compensation, we already are the fastest in market.
Answer: Because hockerty are thieves selling crap and if i am lying let them take me to court along with the thousands of other people that are being ripped off they use to be called Tailor4Less decided to change their name when complaints became to much spread the word they are crap
