The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

As I was looking forward in the auction the catalog would keep refreshing. It also did it a couple of times when I was trying to bid. All in all, a very good experience
Hi Joe,
Thank you for the 4-star review! We’re glad to hear you had a good overall experience, though we understand how the catalog refreshing can be a little disruptive while browsing or bidding.
If you’d like to prevent that from happening, you can turn off auto-refresh in the catalog settings during the auction—this helps keep the screen steady while you’re scrolling or placing bids.
We appreciate your feedback and are happy to have you as part of the HiBid community—happy bidding!

The one bid I was watching in Calgary had a start time, and I bid on items, but never knew when it would end. I kept bidding until I couldn't watch anymore. How long do these online open bids go for? Cant see any closing information. Also search is not very user friendly.
Hi Brandi, thank you for your review. Most auctions on HiBid use a soft close, each lot has a countdown timer showing how much time is left for bidding. If a bid is placed within the final seconds, extra time is added to give all interested bidders a fair chance to respond. You can view the countdown for each lot directly in the catalog to know when bidding will end. We’re also working on improving search functionality to make finding items easier.
We appreciate your feedback and for being part of the HiBid community.

Regarding Lot #546 - Pallet Bulk Sale – Indoor Furniture 8 Boxes XX11:
Despite the auction house's claims that items are "untested and unchecked," this lot appeared to have been thoroughly inspected and handled prior to sale. Upon receipt, I discovered that almost all furniture pieces were damaged and missing essential components, rendering them completely unusable and worthless.
The discrepancy between the stated retail value of over $3,000 and the actual condition of these items raises serious concerns about the accuracy of lot descriptions. The furniture was in such poor condition that it appears this sale was simply a method to dispose of damaged inventory rather than offer genuine value to buyers.
The contradiction between the "untested/unchecked" disclaimer and the obvious prior handling of these items, combined with the complete lack of usable merchandise, suggests misleading practices in the description and valuation of this lot.
We are now getting items disposed of
Hi Alina, thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with this lot. Each auction on HiBid is run by an independent seller, and they are responsible for writing their lot descriptions and handling any post-sale concerns.
Have you had a chance to reach out directly to the seller, Chill Mart, regarding the condition of these items? If not, we recommend contacting them first, as they can best address your concerns. If you need assistance getting in touch or believe the issue has not been resolved, please email us at [email protected] with the auction and lot details so we can review further.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

I participated in two auctions over the weekend. One auction had 2000 items in it. I would go into the live auction catalogue and x out all the items I was not interested in so I can better monitor the ones that I was. This was fine until I switched to another window tab at which point I the live auction would no longer update and I would be booted from the auction resulting in my have to refresh the page which would bring back all the 1900 items I had previously x'd and would have to do this all over. I did this three times until I realized I was a prisoner to the auction and could not do anything else on my laptop (including check price comps)
Hi Joey,
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience—and for being a longtime HiBid user! We know how frustrating it can be to lose your filtered view during a live auction, especially with so many items to sort through.
You’re right—when the page refreshes, it resets the lots you’ve “X’d” out, which can definitely slow things down. We’re working on ways to improve that part of the experience so it’s easier to stay focused without feeling stuck on the page.
And while the survey’s actually been around for a while, we always appreciate when bidders take a moment to share feedback—it really helps us understand what’s working and what could be better.
Thanks again,
—The HiBid Team
The bidding was easy and the description was great. The descriptions in most auctions are poor at best. If the average auction descriptions were better, it would have been a 5 rating.
Hi Neal,
We’re glad to hear the bidding process went smoothly and that you found the item descriptions in that auction helpful. We also appreciate your honest feedback about consistency — since each auction company manages its own listings, detailed descriptions can vary, but insights like yours help us emphasize the value of clear, accurate listings.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, and happy bidding!
— The HiBid Team
Finding specific items to bid on is not a problem and the actual bidding process works smoothly. The one area of the bidding process that does need improvements is the descriptions provided for the item. Most only give the very minimum such as one word. It would be very helpful to describe the actual item bidding on.
Going through several pages is a pain see Hines site auction house in Ellsworth wi
Hi Gloria,
Thanks for your feedback! We hear you—navigating through multiple pages can definitely feel a bit tedious, especially during large auctions.
Some sellers, like the one you mentioned, may format their auctions differently depending on how they manage their catalog. That said, we’re always looking for ways to improve the browsing experience across the platform, and your input helps.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!

Good service close to my home

The door is hard closes when pulling cart out be nice if it was an auto door
Was better when it was at the bottom of the hill
Bidding through HiBid has been a very pain-free experience, each and every time I use the site. I have been using HiBid for a few years now and have found each and every transaction to be a very positive experience.
Hi Jason,

$#*!ty, they were trying to ask me for feed back while I was in the middle of bidding. And they charged me 3 percent those dirty dogs. I won't be using hibid again!
Hi Jack,
Thanks for your feedback—and we totally get how frustrating that must’ve felt. Being asked for input mid-bid is definitely not ideal, and we're actively working on improvements to avoid disrupting the bidding experience like that in the future.
As for the 3% charge, that was likely a buyer’s premium set by the auction company itself, not HiBid. Each seller can set their own terms, so the fees may vary depending on the auction. We always recommend reviewing the auction’s terms and conditions beforehand so there are no surprises at checkout.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope we’ll have the chance to earn back your trust down the road.

The auction profiles may not be up-to-date. I recently won an item but cannot seem to locate a settlement email from the bid site. Their hibid page says pickup is Tuesday -Thursday but no hours are posted. The phone number on the page is wrong and I've not had any luck getting a hold of them via that or also the hibid auction "contact l" section. This will negatively impact my profile as a "no pickup".
Hi Courtney,
Thank you for your review, and we're sorry to hear about the trouble you're having.
Settlement emails aren’t located on the HiBid site itself—they’re typically emailed directly to you by the auction company. If you haven’t seen one, we recommend checking your spam or junk folder just in case it landed there by mistake.
We also understand how frustrating it is not to be able to reach the seller, especially with pickup deadlines. If you're still unable to get in touch with them, feel free to reach out to our support team at 844-775-4774. We're happy to step in and help get you connected so you’re not penalized unfairly.
Thanks again for bringing this to our attention,

I dedicated time to bid on each item I won, fully aware that final tax sales would amount to 23.5%. Yet, the sellers rejected my bids simply because they didn't meet their price expectations. This is frustrating and unacceptable. There wasn't any stipulation labeled stating the reason they refused my purchased.
Hi Gabriel,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how disappointing it is to win items only to have your bids declined afterward—especially after planning around the full cost, including taxes.
In some cases, sellers may have reserve prices or are working with consignors who set specific expectations. If a bid doesn’t meet those thresholds, they may choose not to complete the sale. That said, if it wasn’t clearly communicated, we agree you deserve an explanation.
We recommend reaching out directly to the seller for clarification—they should be able to explain why the items weren’t awarded. If you have trouble getting a response, feel free to contact HiBid Support at 844-775-4774 and we’ll do our best to help.
Thanks again,
—The HiBid Team
Overall good experience. I would like for there to be a little bigger banner or alert for the items that won't be shipped.
Hi Phil,
Thank you for the 4-star review! We’re glad to hear you had a good overall experience and appreciate your suggestion about making non-shippable items more noticeable. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving visibility and clarity for bidders.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and for being part of the HiBid community—happy bidding!

I am new to on line bidding. It is interesting on following and bidding. I bid on allot of small items, won some lost some. Getting a good experience. (Not like the old days when you could go get a hot dog at the concession stand)
Hi Allen,
Thank you for the 5-star review! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying your introduction to online bidding—it’s a great way to stay involved in auctions and experience the thrill of winning, even without the concession stand hot dogs!

Positive experience as both buyer and seller. 2nd Cents makes selling your stuff and buying new things easy.
Hi Craig,
Thank you for the 5-star review! We’re glad to hear you’ve had great experiences with 2nd Cents both as a buyer and a seller—it’s great to know the process has been smooth on both sides.
We appreciate you being part of the HiBid community—happy bidding (and selling)!

I really disliked the fact that I held my phone in my hand and watched the entire auction. Then tried to beat the bidder ( you know that's the thrill of the auction)just for it to give more time for another bid.! That's unfair! The last bid before the timer runs out should stand.
Hi Jacqueline,
Thank you for the 5-star review and for sharing your thoughts! We understand how it can feel when extra time is added just as you’re about to win—that’s part of HiBid’s soft-close feature, which gives everyone a fair chance to place their final bid if one comes in right before time runs out.
It helps make the process feel more like a live auction and ensures no one loses out just because of a last-second click or internet delay.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are glad to hear you’re enjoying the excitement of bidding—happy bidding!

TOOK THEM FROM 11AM TO 1215 PM TO PICK MY ORDERS. THE FRONT IS A DISASTER ZONE AND DOES NOT DO HI BID ANY FAVORS IN REPRESENTING YOU. STUFF EVERYWHERE WERE THESE PEOPLE TRAINED? MY 3 ORDER WERE $500 WERE THEY NOT CONCERNED ABOUT NOT BEING PAID?
YOU REALLY NEED TO DRIVE THERE TO SEE IT, AND HOW ITS SETUP, THE BACK AREA IS EVEN WORSE. ON A POSITIVE NOTE THE YOUNG MEN ARE VERY NICE.
Hi Wanda,
Thanks so much for your feedback—we’re sorry the experience felt chaotic. That definitely sounds frustrating, especially after multiple attempts to get your invoice and a long wait during pickup.
Each seller does manage their own invoicing and pickup process, so we always recommend reaching out to them directly if something doesn’t seem right. We’re glad to hear the staff was kind and helpful—that’s always a bright spot! Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

The web page died on me many times the final day of the auction. It was frustrating and I might have missed rebidding on items I wanted.
Thank you for the 4-star review—we’re sorry to hear you experienced issues with the webpage during the final day of the auction. We understand how frustrating that can be, especially when trying to rebid on items you’re interested in.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and your feedback helps us continue improving reliability and the overall bidder experience.

Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
