The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

When I bid and am outbid immediately that tells me a person is not bidding on the item. I think it's cheating. It makes it unfair. People don't stand a chance. I think bots should not be allowed.
I always love participating in your auctions. Auction was 10/2/25 and pick up day was 10/4/25. Grey Dog Auctions had my lots boxed well and ready to go when I got there.
Hi Linda,
Thank you for the 5-star review! We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed the auction and that Grey Dog Auctions made pickup easy with everything boxed and ready to go.
We appreciate you being part of the HiBid community—happy bidding!

Most items are "as described". Very seldom, but does occur, item descriptions are inaccurate or omit information which would cause one to not bid. This usually occurs with items listed as NIB... new in box... my experience has been many items are used and repackaged in the original packaging... working or not.
Hi Eric,
Thank you for the 4-star review and for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We’re glad to hear most of your experiences have been positive, though we understand how frustrating it can be when an item isn’t accurately described.
Each auction company on HiBid manages its own listings and descriptions, including item condition and packaging details. We always encourage bidders to contact the seller directly before bidding if anything seems unclear—they can often provide more information or additional photos.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, as feedback like yours helps promote transparency and trust across the platform.

Your platform was fine... wasted 4 hours bidding on a site... won 30-40 items all with reserves but no information on what the reserves were... If I had know I would not have sat at a computer for 4 hours bidding for NOTHING... and I cannot get back the time wasted. Will never bid on an auction ever again without reserve amounts listed... should be required entry on your platform... I am spending $10,000-$15,000 a month on inventory and will never waste this type of time again.
Hi Brent,
Thank you for the 4-star review—we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We understand how frustrating it must have been to spend time bidding on items only to find out they had unmet reserves.
Each auction company manages its own listings, including whether reserve prices are displayed. Your feedback highlights how important transparency is for bidders, and we’ll be sure to share your comments with our team.
We appreciate your insight and the time you dedicate to using HiBid—thank you for being part of the community.

Went to bid on a hand crank radio. Bid 3 times increasing my bid each time only to find each bid pending.auction given to lower bidder. You guys have no clue what your doing so you?
Hi Angel,
Thank you for sharing your feedback—we understand how frustrating that felt. On HiBid, pending bids are controlled by the auction’s settings. If a bid goes into pending, the auctioneer must approve it before it’s accepted.
Please contact the auction company listed on the auction page for approval—they can review and clear your bid directly.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we hope your next auction goes more smoothly.

Would be better if so many lots were not closing all at once. You miss items you want to bid on cause multiple lots are closing at once.
Hi Tonya,
Thank you for the 4-star review and for sharing your feedback. We understand how it can be disappointing when multiple lots close at the same time—it can definitely make it tough to keep up with everything you want to bid on.
Each auction company sets its own closing pace and lot intervals, so some sales move faster than others.
We appreciate your feedback and hope your next bidding experience is even smoother!

Horrible. I was bidding on a set of chairs was dropped off and would not take my sign in would not take it until I was locked out. Had to make new password. Would not accept. Until I lost the bid for 5.00 more.
Hi Sue,
We’re sorry to hear about your experience—losing out on an item due to a sign-in issue is understandably frustrating.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re continually working to improve the overall bidder experience. We hope your next auction goes much more smoothly.

Hibid is the go to site for me. Mostly, I buy for me and my family. It's exciting because you never know what you'll find. Hibid makes it easy to register and bid. It's a great platform!
Hi Sherry,
Thank you for the wonderful 5-star review! We’re so glad to hear HiBid is your go-to site and that you enjoy the excitement of discovering new finds for you and your family. It’s great to know the platform makes bidding and registration easy.
We appreciate you being part of the HiBid community—happy bidding!

I have been using Hibid for over two years and I love it! Registration is simple and overall the site is easy to use. By far much more accommodating than an in-person auction.
My first 2 bids didn't go through. They sat there pending then got rejected. It upset me because it was the 2 items I wanted the most out of the nearly 1k items in the auction.
Hi Destiny,
Thank you for the 4-star review—we’re glad to hear you had a good experience overall, though we understand how disappointing it must have been to have your first two bids go into pending and then be rejected.
On HiBid, pending bids are controlled by the auction’s settings, and the auctioneer must approve them before they’re accepted. If a bid isn’t approved, it won’t register in the system. We recommend contacting the auction company listed on the auction page—they can confirm what happened and help clarify their approval process.
We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope your next auction goes much more smoothly.

I have used HiBid for over a year now and I'm very pleased with the bidding platform. I have had great success with the search engine and most of the auction companies that I have purchased items from. I do believe the buyers premium is a little high on some items though. I can easily see 15% on a $50 item but not on a $1000 item. That is the main reason I stay away from more expensive items,
Hi Andy,
Thank you for the 5-star review and for being a longtime HiBid user! We’re glad to hear you’ve had great success with the platform, search features, and the auction companies you’ve worked with.
We understand your point about buyer’s premiums—those fees are set by each auction company individually, and they can vary depending on the type of auction and items sold. Your feedback is appreciated and helps reinforce the importance of transparency across all listings.
We’re happy to have you as part of the HiBid community and wish you continued success in your future auctions!

Everything went well on the first item I was bidding on however the second item I could not look live. It continued to show "error".
Hi David,
Thank you for the 4-star review! We’re glad to hear most of your auction experience went smoothly, though we understand how frustrating it must have been to see an error while trying to view the second item live.
Rarely, connection or browser refresh issues can interrupt the live feed, but your feedback helps us continue improving reliability for bidders. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope your next auction goes smoothly from start to finish.
—The HiBid Team
Overall, the bidding process was fine and worked well. I liked that when someone outbid me, I had a full minute to react — that feature was really helpful. However, I experienced several issues: I won 4 lots, but when I arrived to pick them up, only 3 were available. The staff apologized, but it was still disappointing. One of the lots was not as described. The listing said it was undamaged and complete, but in reality, the compressor was broken: the part with the gauges had been snapped off, and both the gauge and the connector for the hose were missing. Because of these problems, my overall experience was not very positive.
Hi Artur,
We’re glad you found the bidding process smooth, and we appreciate you noting the helpful features. We’re sorry the pickup and item description didn’t meet expectations, even with the seller’s apology. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll share it to help improve the experience moving forward.

The Edmonton crew responds quickly and efficiently when I have questions and go the extra mile to make sure everything is packed in the parcels before sent out for delivery.
Hi Pat,
Thank you for the 5-star review! We’re glad to hear you’ve had such positive experiences with the Edmonton auction team. It’s great to know they’ve been responsive and take extra care in packing and shipping your items.
We appreciate you sharing your feedback and being part of the HiBid community—happy bidding!

Helpful honest and dependable. I have nothing but good things to say about both of the Edmonton locations...
The systems were down during my pick up. They were more attentive than usual because of this. They were so fast. It was almost like they knew I was coming. Whole experience from park to leave lasted 15 minutes. For the systems being down, this was more than amazing. Great work from the whole team.
Hi Jordan,
Thank you for the 5-star review! We’re happy to hear your pickup experience went so smoothly, even with the systems being down. It’s great to know the team was attentive and efficient throughout the process.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and are glad to have you as part of the HiBid community—happy bidding!

Using the software was straight forward and pretty easy to navigate. I would like to see a way to identify an auctioneer as a favorite so it would be easier to find an auction being held by a specific auctioneer. In using the software during the live part of the auction, I experienced a lock up of the site when changing view from my bids to the live auction. It did it several times and was a bit frustrating when it happened near the close of an item. I may not of found out how to do this yet, but would like to have just your watch or bid items showing in the live auction portion.
Hi James,
Thank you for the 4-star review and for sharing such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you found HiBid easy to navigate and appreciate your suggestions about favoriting auctioneers and improving the live auction view.
We understand how frustrating it can be to experience a brief site lockup during bidding—your note helps us identify where we can make performance improvements. For now, keeping your Watch List open in a separate tab can make it easier to focus on your active bids during live auctions.
We appreciate your insight and are happy to have you as part of the HiBid community—happy bidding!

It is very easy to register and bid on items. People cannot outbid you at the last second as bidding is extended a certain amount of time. I like I don't have to go to an auction and sit for hours waiting for an item to come up, most hibid auctions are done within an hour of starting.
Hi Daniel,
Thank you for the 4-star review! We’re glad to hear you find HiBid easy to use and appreciate features like the timed extensions that make bidding fair for everyone. It’s great to know you enjoy the convenience of online auctions without having to wait hours for items to come up.

Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.

Hi Deloris,
Thank you for sharing your feedback—we understand how it can feel frustrating to be instantly outbid. What you’re seeing is actually HiBid’s max bid feature, not bots or unfair activity. It allows bidders to set their maximum bid in advance, and the system automatically increases their bid only as needed to stay in the lead—similar to how proxy bidding works at traditional auctions.
This feature helps keep bidding fair and efficient, ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to win within their chosen limit.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective, and we hope your next auction experience feels more enjoyable and transparent.
