The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

This was probably the best run auction that I have done. I was doing these is NC and just moved to NJ. The online aspect ran smoothly but the difference came at pick up. The people were very friendly and had everything done in such an organized process and that made my experience really good.
Thank you to a great staff from signing in to loading up everything.
Extra thanks to the woman who ran everything at pick up.
I would like response from la item won to ship. However it is a good place to find stuff looking for and bid on
Thanks for your review! We're glad to hear that you’ve found HiBid to be a good place to find and bid on items. We understand your desire for quicker communication regarding shipping, and while HiBid facilitates the bidding process, each seller is responsible for handling shipments. We recommend reaching out directly to the seller for updates on the shipping of your item.
Thanks again for sharing your experience, and happy bidding!
I had bid on a few lots that had coins they were auctioning off. It showed 100 available in the lot and I had thought I was bidding on 1 out of the 100. Turns out I had bid $6 a piece for all 100 coins owing $600. Another lot was 200 coins and I had bid $10.50 again thinking it was for 1 out of the 200. I ended up "winning" and owed $6000. I reached out to the auctioneer company, they did give me a break and as a courtesy charged me $150 to cancel the order. I will be super careful on what I am bidding on next. All the other things I have bid on I have had great experiences.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad to hear you’ve had great experiences with other items on HiBid, but we understand how important it is to fully understand what you're bidding on, especially with lots that have multiple items.
This is why it’s always a good idea to carefully read all the details in each lot listing and, when in doubt, reach out to the seller before placing a bid. Each auctioneer may have different processes, and contacting them directly can help ensure you’re bidding on exactly what you expect.
We appreciate your feedback and hope you continue to find unique items on HiBid!
I bought 28 items for over $1000. Most of the items were ok. Sone were completely destroyed inside the box. I suppose this is what the inspection period is for but, like most, I traveled quite a distance to pick these items up. Had to assume that they were ok.
Thanks for your feedback! We’re glad Anthony was able to assist with your payment issue. We understand how frustrating it can be to receive damaged items, especially after traveling a long distance. We recommend reviewing the inspection period and contacting the seller when possible to ensure everything is as expected.
We appreciate your comments and hope your future purchases go more smoothly!
Site froze up a number of times while I was bidding. Some sort of error message came up. Missed out on a handful of lots that I really wanted. Had to change strategy in regards to lots that I would pursue mid way through the auction. It has happened before.
We’re really sorry to hear about your experience with site freezes and missed opportunities. We understand how frustrating that can be, especially when you’re actively bidding on lots you’re interested in.
While we strive to provide a seamless experience, technical issues can occasionally occur. If you encounter this again, we recommend refreshing your browser or using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue. If the problem persists, please feel free to reach out to our support team, and we can investigate further.
We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve the platform’s reliability to ensure a smoother experience in the future.
I really enjoy the process of bidding and the excitement of a win/good deal. The loss of a star comes from the lack of ability (from what I can see) to find auctions by postal code. EIt would also be nice to see a subtotal for each page of bids at the top of the page.
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you enjoy the bidding process and the excitement of winning a great deal.
In response to your suggestion, there is actually a zip code search feature located at the top of the HiBid site that allows you to find auctions in your area. We hope this helps improve your experience!
We also appreciate your idea about adding a subtotal to each page of bids. It’s something we’ll consider as we continue to improve the platform.
Thanks again for your thoughts, and we hope you keep enjoying your HiBid experience!
I was one of the winning bidders on a firearm auction. I paid immediately for the item and sent all appropriate paperwork and FFL for the auctioneer to ship the firearm. They confirmed they received payment and FFL to ship. I reached out a few days later to get tracking from them. Said they had received all the information and it was ready to go but the sellers were behind and sorry for the inconvenience. That made me start thinking so I looked back through the emails with them and the 2nd to last said the the item would ship in 8 weeks! Well that didn't sit well with me as they have my payment and I won't receive my item for more than 2 months! What the hell. I then went back through all the auction notes, details, payments and everything that was posted in the aucrion. Not once did it say the item would be shipped 8 weeks from end of auction. I reached out to Hibid and have heard nothing! This is really pretty crappy of a business both the Auctioneer bismanbids and Hibid. I will not be bidding here ever again. Proxibid.com is always upfront and on time shipping without delay and especially NOT 8 weeks from win. Hibid check your email and please respond to my questions and concerns!
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We sincerely apologize for the delays you’ve experienced in receiving your firearm and for any frustration caused. We understand your disappointment regarding the shipping timeline, as well as your desire for clearer communication.
We are actively working with the auctioneer, BisManBids, to resolve this issue and will ensure your feedback is promptly addressed by them. We value your feedback and will use it to improve the bidding experience for all of our users.
I won auction southern treasures in alabama. Got 2 of 4 items and 35 emails. Owner is a lies and is a theft.
They currently have a auction going don't bid on southern treasures in alabama.
The owner gives you fake tracking number and you will not receive your items..
Thanks for letting us know about this. We’re already looking into the issue and the seller. If you can, please share more details (lot numbers, tracking info, etc.) with our support team at 844-775-4774 to help with the investigation.
We’re committed to keeping the platform trustworthy and appreciate your patience while we sort this out.
I won 4 items on HiBids and forwarded $450 via Venmo. I have gotten a complete runaround for 6 weeks now. Buyers beware! Still no product after over 20 emails back and forth. This company does not stand behind the buyers and has no recourse with their auctioneers. Don't Bid!
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re truly sorry to hear about the issues you’ve encountered. We understand how frustrating this must be, and we want to help resolve it as quickly as possible.
We’ve sent you a private message requesting more details so we can look into this further and address your concerns. Your feedback is important to us, and we’ll do everything we can to assist you.
Please check your messages, and we’ll work together to find a solution.
Auctioneer Hopkinsauction.hibid.com sold me, and I'm assuming many others, items that were labeled by the Auctioneer as "New, Unopened", when in fact ALL of the 10 items I received had been previously opened and the contents replaced with fake re-sealed goods.
All of the cards were either printed on cheap fake paper, or a plastic sticker was used, see photos.
Real cards have a black line in the middle of the card when ripped, fake ones have no black.
You can also see the variety of light and dark printing on the backside of the fake cards.
The printed text on the cards is all wrong as well.
I once recommended people to use HiBid.com, but if they allow fraudulent Auctioneers like the one I just dealt with then I'll be telling people to steer well-clear of HiBid's services.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and take concerns like this very seriously. HiBid connects bidders with independent auctioneers, and we expect all auctioneers to operate ethically. We’ve already reached out to the auctioneer in question and are working to resolve this issue. If you can, please share more details (lot numbers, photos, etc.) with our support team at 844-775-4774 to help with our investigation.
If the auctioneer is found to have violated our policies, we’ll take appropriate action. Thank you for bringing this to our attention—we’re here to help.
I have purchased a Rolex watch and a diamond ring. After the purchase I took them to an authorized Rolex dealer. First of all the watch didn't even work but that's just the beginning. They tell me that all the mechanics of the watch are extremely worn and would need to be replaced. I decided to replace all of that and get the watch working again. Needless to say I would have been better to purchase from a Rolex dealer and get exactly what I want with box and paperwork.
The diamond ring says the value is over 40k. I gave that to a respected jewelry company and they tell me it's worth maybe $1000.
So I am now stuck with 2 pieces of jewelry that I have overpaid for. At the end of the day it's my fault for believing the appraised value. Just be extremely cautious.
Thanks and good luck
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re really sorry to hear about the issues you’ve encountered with your Rolex and diamond ring purchases. We completely understand how frustrating this situation must be for you.
If the auction descriptions made specific claims about the authenticity or appraised value of the items, and they didn’t live up to those claims, we encourage you to reach out to the auction house directly. If you need any help with getting in touch, our support team is more than happy to assist.
Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’re committed to working with auction houses to ensure they provide accurate descriptions and transparent valuations for our bidders. If there's anything else we can do for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We're here to help!
Spent a month preparing for this land auction and then hours the day of. Bid $******* for 1 piece of a 5 piece auction. Mine was the highest bid piece. I won only to be told that the seller declined and counter offered over double. Assuming he declined all 5. Literally what was the point of this auction? Waste of time.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustration you experienced during the land auction. In some cases, land auctions include hidden reserves—minimum prices set by the seller that must be met before a sale can be finalized. While we encourage sellers to disclose these reserves whenever possible to ensure transparency, the ultimate decision to accept or decline a bid lies with the seller. We understand how this can feel like a waste of time and effort, especially after dedicating so much to preparing and participating in the auction.
If you’d like to discuss this further or have additional concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team. We’d like to help address this issue directly and explore ways to improve your experience with HiBid in the future.
I used this site the first time Sunday, budded on several things. I won one item 2.00 something like that. I couldn't make the pickup, 3-7 pm. They sent email (both went to my spam) Sunday night one at 930 and the other 1100ish. Telling me to pick up Monday if not I would be charged extra. I just now found them in my spam folder.
I called them to see if I could get my items but he said no. So I am out 13.00 plus a 1.00 hold that they charged. Never again

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re sorry to hear about the difficulties you encountered with the auction process. We understand how frustrating it must be to miss an email due to it going to your spam folder, and we recommend checking with your email provider to adjust spam settings to prevent this in the future. While we do encourage auction houses to communicate clearly and work with their bidders when issues arise, we cannot always intervene in their individual policies.
If you’d like, our support team can assist in reaching out to the auction house to see if there is a resolution. We value your participation in online auctions and hope you’ll consider giving other auctions on HiBid a chance. There are many great sellers on the platform with different policies that might better suit your needs.
I have been using Hibid for some time now, I never had any issues with any of the auctions I have purchased from. I was rudely hung up on by one of the Auction houses about my credit card being declined( I called back Right away to resolve this) I explained my bank card was fine but the owner of the auction house hung up on me after explaining he would ban me from their auction house and would ban me from hibid. I will be closing my account on hibid. I really did enjoy the fun of online auctions.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we deeply regret to hear about the way you were treated by one of the auction houses. We do not condone rude or unprofessional behavior from any of our affiliates, and your experience does not reflect the standard of service we strive to maintain on our platform. We encourage you to share more details with our support team so we can address this matter with the auction house directly.
Your enjoyment of online auctions is important to us, and we’d love the opportunity to help you find other auction houses on HiBid that align with your expectations. If there’s anything we can do to assist or improve your experience, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I won 1700 Mercury dimes at a cost of over $3,500 From Antique Finder Services Inc and they never sent them. Numerous calls, Msg's assured me they would be arriving soon. That Auction was in APRIL of 2024.
Seller has done nothing. Hi-Bid has done nothing! Piss pour Business ethics!
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you’ve experienced. We understand how important this matter is and are sorry to hear about the issues with your purchase.

If the auctioneer doesn't send you your winning bids they have no way of helping you get your items or money or recommence. Only they will contact them if they get nothing so do you. They say they will contact you back and they never do. I lost $227 dollars. I'm a single dad with two special needs children and bought the items for them and now I have gotten nothing
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we sincerely regret the challenges you’ve faced. Your situation is deeply concerning, and we understand how important these items were to you and your children.
We encourage you to reach out to our support team directly at 844-775-4774 so we can investigate this matter further. Please provide the auction details and any relevant information, and we will work to contact the auctioneer on your behalf to facilitate a resolution.
Your trust in our platform matters to us, and we want to do everything we can to help. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address this issue, and we hope to make things right for you.
Why does this site allow retail stores to pose as "Auction Houses"? Absolute BS. I was just recently the high bidder on an item that had no minimual bid, which many of their items did, and I just checked and it stated that the bid was "declined". Yes, it was for something that my winning bid would have been less than 50% of retail. WTF. So, now the sellers can just "decline" bids if the high bid didn't meet what they were hoping to get? It's called a freaking auction. Many of these folks are asking way more than retail just as an opening bid, FFS. If you ever see any items from Trigger Shack LLC out of Bucks County, PA, STAY THE F AWAY. What a freaking scam. I used to enjoy this site but for FS, it has turned into just another site for retail stores to try to sell their stuff. I have bought a ton of stuff off this site and been happy with it but there are some that have turned it to crap. BAN opening bids over $5, let the buyers and the market tell them what it's worth.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns. We understand that an enjoyable auction experience relies on transparency and fairness, and we're sorry to hear that your recent experience did not meet those expectations.
At HiBid, we serve as a marketplace connecting independent auction houses, estate sellers, and yes, some retail sellers, each with their own policies and pricing strategies. While we encourage all sellers to uphold traditional auction practices, including fair bidding practices and reasonable starting bids, ultimately, each seller determines their bidding and pricing approach.
Regarding "declined" bids, some sellers reserve the right to set starting bids or have reserve prices. We know this can sometimes feel contrary to the auction experience, especially when the bidding process seems unclear. We’re actively working to improve communication about these practices to ensure bidders know what to expect before placing bids.
We’ll also pass along your feedback about pricing and starting bids so we can continue refining the HiBid experience. Meanwhile, we encourage you to explore other sellers and listings, as many strive to offer genuine auction experiences with fair, market-driven pricing.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in HiBid.
I bought and paid for a rifle at $1235.73; I also paid insurance and shipping of $53.59. The rifle was received from UPS in a damaged box with bolt broken. I have provided pictures, retained shipping container, got a quote to repair from factory and no resolution of communication from Hibid or Mensendiek's Auction Service, please be aware it appears Hibid will not support the consumer nor will some of their Auction Services including Mensendiek';s Auction Service. This is frustrating and defeating.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We’re very sorry to hear about the damage to your purchase and the lack of response from the seller. We understand that after paying for shipping and insurance, you should expect not only secure delivery but also prompt support if issues arise.
HiBid acts as a platform for independent auction houses like Mensendiek's Auction Service, and while we expect sellers to provide excellent service, we do not handle shipping or insurance claims directly. That said, we’re committed to ensuring our users have a fair experience, and we will investigate this seller’s practices to address any concerns.
For further assistance, we recommend reaching out to UPS directly about the shipping damage, as insurance claims often need to be processed through the shipping provider. If you continue experiencing difficulties, please contact HiBid’s support team so we can provide guidance on next steps and help address your concerns.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to work with you to resolve this matter as smoothly as possible.
I had to do a chargeback was because I was sent the wrong item and not the one I paid for. After calling several times with no answer and no way to leave a message, and after sending emails about the issue I contacted my credit card company for the chargeback. They don't seem to have a care in the world about it. Been doing this for 20+ years and this was a terrible experience all around. Buyer beware!
We’re sorry to hear about the issues you faced with your recent purchase. At HiBid, we strive to provide a reliable marketplace and recognize that receiving the correct item is fundamental to a positive auction experience. We apologize that your attempts to reach the seller went unanswered and that this situation required a chargeback.
Each seller on HiBid operates independently, handling their own customer service, shipping, and item management, and we understand how frustrating it can be when communication is lacking. Please know we take reports like yours seriously and will review this seller’s practices to help prevent similar issues in the future.
If you continue to experience issues or need help navigating similar situations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer support team. Thank you for sharing your feedback, as it helps us work toward a better experience for all our users.
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
