I got through once when setting up an order with the gift card I was given. The guy charged my credit card $62.00 but only gave a credit of $61.00. My credit card was not supposed to have been charged because I had a $65.00 gift card.
I have tried several times to talk with someone about my order.
1st, on hold for over an hour before hanging up. 2nd on hold for 25 minutes before hanging up.
The website to order requires payment first before you check out your choices. That was the reason I called in the beginning to find out how it worked. This process is backwards. You look to see what you want and then you pay for it not the other way around.

I will never recommend this company to anyone.

The food is good and is fresh- only one box so far... BUT nothing but trouble. I was given a gift by a friend and was unable to use it on their website. I called and agreed to be charged full price (immediately), promised refund (5 - 10 business days), and now can't cancel an order three days before it leaves. On the last point, when I asked why, I was told it takes five days to "get all the ingredients to get your delivery." This is just to pack a box and put it in outgoing mail- try to visualize that with fresh ingredients. Hoping my cancellation prevents them from sending more and that I actually get my promised credit- I'm cautiously optimistic.
Update- finally got my initial credit 23 days later AFTER calling customer service and demanding it. Seeing mixed reviews here? Search HelloFresh, NY, BBB (Better Business Burea). "F"

Pathetic

A gift from our son. Food is a joke. Vegetables rubbery, limp on the way out, small portions, meat nothing on where it is from or what it is, give beef names never heard of to divert from it being anything decent or heard of. Portions small, main ingredients in small fast food fee packs like from taco bell. You have to peel everything, chop everything, and barely have enough for one person let alone two. Cheap ingredients the sour cream they give with eveything my cats would not even eat and they love sour cream. Threw meat away it was slimmy, package said may contain bacteria, grain strange on beef and taste weird. What a rip off this is. Threw most of it out.

Gave 2 stars because it allowed to work on my cooking skills but it came with allergens that I was told would not come with the boxes, the refuse to give me refunds for accidental charges, and it will not let me change my plan in order to use a gift card balance.

I'm done with them!

Activated my subscription last week and surprise, I got an extra fees 3.98$ (plus the 1$ fees for re-subscription) on my PayPal account!
I called them to understand what's going on and they pretty much told me that it is what it is...
Apparently I got a premium meal, which has premium quality ingredients the "helper" said "that's why we charged the extra, because of the premium quality of the ingredients for that premium meal"... but... HelloFresh is not suppose to be all about freshness and premium ingredients in EVERY MEALS?
So, I pay for my boxes to get fresh ingredients to make good meals but apparently, just like that, they can decide which ones are better than others so they can charge whatever extra fees they want, whenever they want... well, I call that stealing!
Plus the supposedly premium meal I selected without even knowing, had no indication whatsoever saying that it might have extra charge for it, either in the page of the meal itself or the total of the receipt... you just have the "nice" surprise when you receive your invoice from PayPal.
So... 4.98$ (It doesn't take many customers to make 100$) in extra that I had to pay because, like the help center guy said, "it is what it is, it's the system"
I'm going with Goodfood now and will not recommend HelloFresh again.

Received a box for 4 meals from them for 2 people. The ingredients were fresh and well preserved and portioned. A little on the expensive side but then you are saving time and traveling to the grocery market and wasting the extras you end up getting. Had everything required for the meal prep, even the oil. Would recommend if you work full time and find yourself struggling going to shop for food.

Overpriced

The recipes from my order were delicious. I was gifted a great discount from a relative who subscribed to HelloFresh, which is why I decided to try it. For the price I paid it was great! Very convenient, the ingredients were delivered fresh, the instructions were very easy to follow, truly thrilled from the experience. But when looking to maybe subscribe for myself the prices just aren't worth it for the quantity of food you get (there will not be leftovers, which is also unfortunate when we get busy). So yes, delicious, and I've kept the recipe cards for the future, but not worth the cost for me.

Food is good but cost is one of the highest for a meal delivery service and they do not notify you of a delivery coming (if you forget to skip a week) before charging you. Once you are charged, they will not allow any cancelation or recipe changes. They preselected beef and pork recipes, which I don't eat, for a delivery I forgot to skip and would not change a thing and only offered me credit for half a box next time! So I canceled my plan and lost $78 on food I won't eat. They do not care about their customers!

Hello Fresh?. More like Hell No!. Worst food delivery company. No wonder it ddidn't even make the top 5.
This was over priced food and all I got for it was about a week curled up in a fetal position, sick to my stomach and needing to throw up as well as other, even more disgusting things. This company has a repitation of over charging your credit card, charging for 3 people instead of 2... little "mistakes" lime that... not to be trusted, not one bit so check your credit/bank statements. Quick.

Scam beware( no stars)

Just realized hello fresh has charged me for 4 meals for 2 ppl /week. I may have looked at their web site but I never picked a plan or food. I have a family of 4 so it doesn't even make sense that I would pick meals for 2 ppl. Also I have super picky eaters so not picking the meals is not a option. Then I call customer service and of course they can't cancel or refund. I have to wait 24-48 hrs to have a manager call me back. Stay away it's a scam they are vultures.

Sent to wrong address

The police just showed up accusing my son of mail theft after the delivery truck sent the package to not only the wrong address but the wrong city. My so called the company that said they could do nothing. With no way to fix the problem they put the food in their freezer. The guy that ordered it from out of town showed up with police. Talk about crappy customer service. Do NOT buy from this company. They willingly gave out private information that could have led to an altercation. My son and DIL are new parents stressed out. She's a first responder nurse and he's an elementary teacher/coach. They are in a state of panic.

Great food

It is fresh and timely. It's a little pricey but I like the instructions and cooking tips that come with each meal. My sister sent me a free week. I ordered one more week by "accident". It wasn't exactly what I would have chosen but was still pleasantly surprised.

Poor customer service

Guys from the customer service cannot change your delivery adress
You need to call by yourself to reschedule the thing if you are not home
They are very non professional and not pleasant to speak with

Hello Fresh has been great until the last month. Went to cook enchilladas tonight and found the Mexican spices and sour cream missing from the delivery. For the last two weeks we have only received from 420-460 gms of meat for each meal for 4 people and there have been missing spices twice. The basil, coriander and spinach has been wet and brownish when opened. We have had 3 chicken meals that I had to replace the chicken for as it smelt when opened. Lift your game please as I love having H. F. food delivered so I can cook without thinking. 0413 995 663

Does not worth it

We've tried Hello fresh twice and I'd say that $115 I could buy more food for these money, in a supermarket for instance. The price doen't match to the amount of food provided. The fridge still looks empty if you'll try to unpack a box. Not suitable for people who have a very good appetite, because amount of food per meal is just limited. If you want an extra food plate, I'm afraid, you'll not be able to grab one. Tht's why we unsubscribed from Hello Fresh.

Excellent recipes and thoughtful flavors. Food is mostly of good quality, although vegetables (sometimes) but sometimes have not been totally fresh, or ingredients have been missing from kits. Otherwise delicious and nutritious!

There's a varied choice of meals catering for different diets. Recipes are always tasty and enjoyed by all the family. All ingredients are provided. This gives me a break from shopping and deciding what to cook, which is an enormous breath of fresh air as I'm starting to feel like all I do is slave away in the kitchen!

I was very satisfied in the beginning with Hello Fresh. Now, 6 months later it is the same old, same old. Fattening, butter, cream cheese, cheese, sour cream all in one plate. Also the spices are redundant. Cumin lace spices. Argh. The pasta recipes are mostly fat based ingredients. Where are the healthy, veggies and tomato based sauces? Also, the veggie meals are redundant. If I see one more chick pea I am going to puke. We haven't had any issues with delivery other than a couple of times we had a missing ingredient. The food is really good I must say but redundant, at least for the vegetarian options. Not to mention fattening.

Hello, not Fresh!

I really liked the food until we got the last box and got horrible food poisoning from the shepherd's pie meal. My husband, son, and I were in horrible shape for two days (and I still am). My daughter didn't eat the food, fortunately, and didn't get sick. I received a lousy refund of $19.77 after missing work and not being able to eat anything but applesauce for two days.

Very sad!

We've had some decent meals from Hello Fresh. Several times they forgot ingredients and had the wrong recipe to match or had wilted produce, but overall it was nice to try new recipes and have it delivered. We took two months off while we remodeled our kitchen. We ordered again once it was about finished and our craftsman is staying with us while we finish this project. I, thankfully had some left-overs that we are eating tonight. I had planned to made a Hello Fresh meal - which was PROMISED to be delivered by 8pm. I waited until then - late dinner with no delivery. I heated leftovers and THEN the delivery arrived. I believe this will be our last order. :(
