I received this from HelloFresh. The meat had a "gash" in the packaging and was tainted. The potatoes were blackened. I cancelled immediately.
First off, their customer service & offers on those survey sites are worse than terrible. I tried the "special offers" (get 14 days for FREE! Deal) & then I saw the menu when I selected "pescatarian" - only one meal had fish and everything was ALL VEGETARIAN - I AM NOT VEGAN! Okay…so I called to cancel and that lady COULD NOT find my account even though I had email confirmation! Apparently, if ur Apple ID was used it disguises ur actual apple email account name. Nevertheless, and even tho I received a cancellation notice, Hello Fresh continued billing my account TWICE! Then I called 3x before getting a really nice, knowledgeable customer service rep who cancelled it AGAIN but she said since to late to stop the scheduled box I received the box and inside, every since recipe was vegetarian, only one had any fish in it! I AM BEYOND PISSED! I do not like all this vegan stuff and it takes up space in my fridge. I HATE to throw out food but I don't eat 90% of these! I will NEVER use or try HELLO FRESH EVER again! Their tropes are horrible too!
I have tried 3 different meal delivery programs and Hello Fresh is by far the best one I have tried! What I really liked the most is that it really only took about 30 minutes to make the meals! If I ever do use one of these programs again I will be going back to Hello Fresh!
My husband and I enjoyed Hello Fresh our first few meals. After this, my husband asked me to cancel our food delivery. I found it totally difficult to figure out how to do this. Another batch of food arrived, although I thought I had said to stop delivery, my bank account was charged, etc. I have requested at least 4-5 times for Hello Food to stop this charge on my bank account and delivery. Is this some SCAM? Anyone else have similar experiences? I will NEVER suggest Hello Fresh to anyone.
I have been ordering from Hello Fresh for years. The quality of their products and the quantity of their products was great. Recently I have noticed poor quality ingredients, ingredients missing from the boxes, boxes arriving on completely different days to when they are due. When you contact customer service they say they will do something when they are online, but they never do that thing. They advertise $25 off a box if you buy x boxes in a period of time. You do that, but the $25 is never applied to your next box.
On August 12,2021 I noticed a pending charge on my credit card for this company. I called to see why and was told that a box would ship out on August 16th. I requested to cancel any and all items because I did not want anything and wanted to cancel before anything was shipped. I was told nothing would ship and they would credit it back to my credit card. I never received a credit, so I called back today to just have someone tell me that it was credited back on August 12th, which I assured them it was not. I feel like this company gets your information, charges you and you never receive any food or a credit for what they charge!
I have no idea nor want to on the food but Hello Fresh for some months send me unwanted promotional
Propaganda. I have written them 5 times requesting cessation of this but to no avail. I suspect it would be difficult to say Goodbye Fresh should you wish to do so...
Customer service is the only good thing about this company. Otherwise good is decent, not great. Oh. And my last box came with a GERMAN COCKROACH IN IT. I thought this food delivery service was supposed to convenience my life, but now I'm inconvenienced with having to hire an exterminator to come spray my house.
I live in an hot climate and they deliver this stuff by UPS. Yes, it's packed in ice and packed pretty decently but they don't take into account delivery routes. My UPS guy brings mine at the end of the day meaning the ice had melted. I tried several times and had this happen. Giving 3 stars because the batches that showed up still frozen were really good. They need to find better ways to keep cold for the hotter climates.
I like this service, but could not continue because it's very frustrating when trying to cook with mushy, watery vegetables. And I had to think, "how is this FRESH, if it's FROZEN?". Hello?
AVOID THESE SCAMMERS. SIGNED UP TO TRY THROUGH A FRIEND. WASNT FOR ME, CANCELLED THE AUTO SUBSCRIPTION. NEXT THING I FIND IS I GOT CHARGED, CALLED THEM UP TO CANCEL BUT THEY REFUSED. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AS THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT APPROVAL. GOING THROUGH MY CREDIT CARD TO GET REFUND.
Shipping on time. Produce fresh. Recipes are great. Very flavorful. So far we love them. Easy to follow directions but only complaint the order you cook items in are sometimes odd to me.
I got my first HF box and I can send my friends "free boxes". So I sent one to my flatmate. As far as I recall, Hello Fresh did not specifically wrote on its advertisement that a free box cannot be deliver to the same address (just confirmed with a Hello Fresh staff on the phone yesterday. He told me they will NEVER write such thing on the poster. So isn't it a scam then?). I called yesterday after reading the HCM international email (third party HF use to chase after payments) and that same Hello Fresh staff told me I did not get the "free box" discount, therefore I need to pay 41.99 for that box. However I do have bank records showing I got a box for free but later Hello Fresh returned the shipping fee and demanded me to pay 41.99. Just we thought Hello Fresh will never deliver the box because the transaction failed, it did (this box is not a subscription, the box should never be sent to the address). Now the company asked HCM as a third party to get involved on this issue (they send multiple emails and because I don't check this inbox frequently, HCM raised the price to 47.99, they simply added 6 pounds on top of the original price), I could not agree with such forceful action. Therefore, called wanting to speak to a manager at Hello Fresh. It's been 2 days and I haven't received the manager's call. Apparently the manager needs to investigate the issue before giving a call back...
It started off great - fresh, easy to cook food sent to your doorstep. What's not to love? Apparently, a lot can go wrong. A few weeks in I receive a box with improperly sealed meat and vinegars, with juices soaking through multiple meals. Ew. They gave me $35 in credit for the trouble. It sounds ok but remember this for later. The very next week, I find a delivery slip saying I was missed. I work from home all day and no one rang. When I contacted customer service they first said I didn't have my callbox information but when I questioned how delivery were able to ring me on previous weeks they said "Yes, I see." but wouldn't do anything to help. They wanted me to go on my own time, 50-min and 50-min back to get the box from the Purolator office. Unbelievable. I know Purolator sucks but you chose them as your carrier - take responsibility. Now remember the $35 credit? I can't use it until I use up all of my discounted boxes first. So I'm really out ~2 boxes at the end of the day. "Smart" business plan but angry and insulted customers!
On 2 separate occasions the mince I have received was off. When I cancelled my order it was recommenced after a few months without my permission. Boxes of food left at door to go bad whilst we were on holidays they still expect me to pay for it. Be very careful very bad customer service
Initially, I liked the service however I found that as time went on I was receiving more and more bad produce (tomatoes smashed or rotting, wilted scallions) in each shipment. I contacted customer service as got some credit. I decided to pause (which you can only do by skipping weeks up to 6 weeks). Then when reviewing my credit card I saw a charge for another box. I contacted customer service immediately to cancel the box and was told they couldn't cancel as it was in "pre-shipment" Today is Wednesday the box won't ship til Saturday and they can't cancel it? Seriously. I got no notification. Some other pet peeves: The front page of their website is so full of offers for new customers its hard to log in for current customers.
Bottom line: The recipes were the best thing about this service, but the food quality leaves a lot to be desired.
I received my first order very poor products and seriously under sized portion. I want cancel my account and I'm being stopped at ever attempt. It's a trap you can come in but never leave!
Please be aware this is fake company, charging you without consent and not refunding my balance
Highly disappointed
Good experience but not perfect. The ingredients have not the best quality. It took a long time to prepare and clean the kitchen!
First shipment has rotten produce, second box just never showed up. They refunded the money for the second box but really didn't care that the meals I was expecting to use all week just never showed up. Box was said to be "returned for inspection" to fedex. That's just a little weird, in my opinion. So, out of the two weeks I ordered, one box had rotten potatoes, and the second box just never showed up. Don't bother with this company.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
