THERE WAS NO GRAVY WITH ANY MEALS! I WOULD HAVE NEVER SPENT A DIME ON THIS YUPPY FOOD! WHERES THE DAGGUMMMM GRAVY! TOOK 50 OF MY HARD ERANED MONEY! IM PISSEDDDD OFFF!
I used to love this service. They came every Monday, the meals were nutritious and filling, my whole family loved to eat them. I don't know what has gone wrong over the last 6 months. Instead of a full chicken breast you now get a smaller "cutlet" for the same price. Every meal used to have great fresh herbs- now they are often too old to use or replaced with dried ones. The worst is the quality and quantity of the vegetables- sometimes too nasty to use, often less than what I am supposed to get if I measure with my food scale. Top this off with deliveries that are coming 12-36 hours late... I think I'll just go back to the grocery store.
I'm done with these guys. They sent my meal box to an address 70 miles away. Nobody in their customer service could figure anything out... I had to call the delivery service myself. When I finally talked to someone who wasn't clueless, he told me he could refund the box (no additional credit for the trouble) and it would take 10 days to get my money. What a clown circus.
This company is a wreck. The only thing good about Hello Fresh is the delicious meals-but none of that matters if you don't get the food. It has been 4 times now that my weekly delivery hasn't come and we have been members for less than a year. When our latest box wasn't on time yesterday during the day I checked in and was then told it would be delivered at the latest by yesterday evening. It is now 2:30 pm on a new day and there have been no updates. The only info we found was by going to the delivery tracking site, which said that an attempt of delivery would be made and that the delay was due to inclement weather. If I can get my kids to school and head to work at 7 am in the morning during "inclement weather" they should be able to make deliveries on at least the same day. And with all this that is happening, Hello Fresh did not once attempt to contact us, as with the other 3 times. So I find myself during my lunch break checking in and following up. The company has no sense of responsibility for getting people the food they rely on because they can't get to the store or when they are disabled. There is no accountability when things go wrong. The only thing they will offer is a discount on the following meal. Of course, that isn't enough when your family doesn't have anything to eat. And even if the discounts are enough to satisfy you, you will find you cannot use that discount until your current promotion ends. There is always a promotion though, so you will never see that discount applied. At least in our case, it has not been. We have a permanent discount as healthcare workers so we will not be getting any further discounts we are owed.
*Presented below is an image of our purchase- you can see we have not received a refund
Be cautious! I received an email link form Hello Fresh for a trial or their product, but unbeknownst to me with this trial I also signed up to receive weekly shipments of their product. Yes, I imagine it was somewhere in small type that this would happen, BUT it was definitely not upfront and made clear that with my trial I was committing to weekly shipments! I thought I was just sampling it to see IF I would like to use their service! The sample box I ordered was not even food that I eat! I ordered food that I do not eat because I had guests staying with me that would eat this kind of food. Ie: pork, pasta, carbs. This is food I do not eat... now my guests are gone and I have a box of food arriving that I will not eat! In the trash it will go! I have now CANCELLED my stealth subscription!
BE CAUTIOUS OF THE SMALL PRINT.
Previously had good experience with HelloFresh in past. Purchased a $60 gift card for parents as a Christmas present. Ordered 3 individual meals and had to pay an extra $9.99 for shipping which was fine. Helped parents with order to their picking which was vegetarian options. Was charged an extra $35. Called customer service and apparently vegetarian is an upgraded "gourmet" option. Spent total of $105 for three dinners for two, won't ever do business with them again
This company is stupid. I could just find good recipes online go to the local store and make it. I get a box of ingredients to make myself. Defeats all purpose. I closed the account and ask for a refund after the first try and the good for nothing said that it can only be a credit to the account. Stupid useless pathetic company
I will admit that I thought every one of HelloFresh's meals I ordered tasted good, and is something I would make again. The pricing is more affordable with discount codes, but those are easy to find so I was happy with the cost. That being said, the shipping needs improvement. The ice keeps everything very cold, but they place the meat loosely in packaging at the bottom, which causes the packaging of it to open up very easily. One of my boxes had this happen, and I will say customer service was more than helpful and ended up sending me a whole new replacement order for free and let me keep both. It makes for a fun date night or an easy meal alternative to eating out, but it does create a lot of waste and I don't think it's sustainable enough to order on a consistent basis. Overall, I would recommend trying it even once!
I had received HelloFresh gift cards for Christmas to try the subscription service out. However, when I redeemed my gift cards they didn't show up on my account and I was forced to enter my credit card. When I called customer service about it they said they can't apply a gift card if you have a coupon code (which they give you with your first order) and that it would be applied to my next order. Well my next order got lost in the mail and said they would refund my card and get free shipping my next meal. When I went to see if I got refunded, I didn't. So I called customer service again and finally was able to get the gift card applied to next order but he said I would still have to pay for the shipping since the gift card was seen as a coupon. Applying gift cards is so difficult he said to call customer service each time to get it applied one by one. Never has it been so difficult to use a gift card and so frustrating. I will not be using this service after gift cards are used up which is a bummer because the meals have all been tasty.
I have only been using Hello Fresh for 3 weeks and have only been able to use them once. First week package was delivered so late the food was rancid, second week package showed up on time and recipes were just "meh". Week 3 package isn't delivered at all. Had to fight tooth and nail with customer service for refunds for the 2 boxes that were late/ didn't show up. So disappointed with this company and service - AVOID!
HelloFresh, in the beginning, was a perfect option for my family. The produce was fresh and yummy. By my second box, I noticed that some of my produce was not as fresh. I wrote it off to "one bad box" and tried another two weeks. Mold and rotten produce were in the 4/5 meals that I had ordered. With that said, I canceled. I am not paying $90 a week for recipes in addition to going to the grocery store to replace products. VERY disappointed. I recommend trying for the three-week promotion then CANCEL. Such a bummer.
I would like yo to know about my first and last experience with Hello Fresh. I bought a gift card for my father. It was to have been sent to his email address at Christmas. He never received it. I called customer support, who sent me an email with a pdf of the gift card attached. I forwarded the message to my father who followed the link and entered the code, only to get an error message. I called customer service two more times, eventually getting instructions with a different link to enter the code. When that didn't work, my father called customer service, speaking with three different agents. He was finally able to place one first order. He was told to give it a couple of days before trying to log back in to order a second meal. Terrible customer service!
I don't think I've ever wasted my time reviewing something like this, but this turned out to be a special occasion, added to the fact that I have to be on a site like this and not able to post it directly on HelloFresh's site. The meals are horrifically complicated considering it's supposed to be something to make dinner easier. I've yet to receive a meal that had all the correct ingredients, which makes me go to the store which is of course what I was trying to avoid in the first place. The company is called "Hello Fresh," yet I've had plenty of ingredients that are well past "fresh." They sent me an ad for a coupon to pass along to my friends. I have several people from my past that I would gladly watch get eaten by a shark, but no one that I would subject to this company. I can't imagine a scenario where someone would be desperate enough to use this service if they had any other options. I made a horrible mistake, and I've literally paid for it. I hate that I can't rate zero stars.
Always great food! I like how they separate the food into individual paper bags which makes cooking and figuring out portions a breeze. I also like the big card they use for each meal. My 10 year old and 14 year old's both can make a dinner from start to finish without help (although I do stay in the kitchen while the stove/oven is on;-).
I was supposed to receive my first box yesterday and nothing was delivered. I received no communication via phone or email. This morning I checked my account on the Hello Fresh platform and the status of the order was still "In transit", the tracking number that I found was to the FedEx website, that said that the shipment is delayed by 2 days so far, no reason, no ETA. I wonder how FedEx stores perishable food items while the shipments are "delayed".
I emailed Hello Fresh customer support, no response. I wrote to them in chat and waited 30 minutes or the reply. Left for 5 minutes to the washroom and returned to a message from agent who replied to my detailed complaint: "Sorry, I haven't heard from you and ended the chat!"
So the verdict is that Hello Fresh doesn't care about your time, money or food safety.
Worst experience ever! I don't recommend it.
Tried Hello Fresh, recieved 5 meals fast shipping, first meal Pork Taco's open bag to cook meal, NO PORK! Contact thru chat, offer me 20 dollars back, 2nd meal Lemon Italian chicken, Open bag NO CHICKEN! Contact again thru chat, I check remaining 3 meals, they forgot the meat in all 5 meals, gave me refund canceled contract!
I order hello fresh for my parents and normally the package shows up every Monday. This week it was delayed because of Christmas. Not a huge deal except for the message on the app. The message states that the package is delayed thank you for your understanding. First of all, I don't understand and second of all instead of a snarky message you should simply apologize for the delay and say that the package will be there on Wednesday. Customer awareness is apparently not a thing with this company. Learn how to talk to people respectfully and people like me will be less likely to stop using your service. Amazing how the littlest thing can be so enormously important. If this was my company the people that approved that message would be fired because it shows ignorance of basic customer communication. Without that you will be mediocre at best.
I absolutely love hello fresh! Their food is absolutely amazing. Have only had 1 meal that was "just ok". Even my daughters love it, age 3 and 7. I should mention we are vegetarian, that being said this review is based on vegetarian meals only.
First week was two days late but food was good. Second week I was depending on a meal and realized no meat was included!
Not to mention vegetables where withered.
Making a grilled cheese sandwich tonight.
Thanks Hello Fresh
So my brother gave me a coupon voucher to try this food service. The voucher was going to expire so i put in my order and specifically requested they ship me my box on a certain date because i would be traveling for a few weeks.
Not only did they ship me my first box the day i left so my neighbor got an early xmas present, they kept on sending me boxes and charging my card for it. So i came home from my trip to rotten food and over $100 less in my account.
Should probably let customers know that they will be sending unwanted food and charging you for it after you "try" your first order!
Thankfully customer service ppl were kind enough to refund me and let me keep the last unwanted tainted box.
Never again! No thank you Hello "Unfresh"!
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
Delicious, pre-measured ingredients and simple, chef-made recipes that we deliver to your doorstep every week. Extra flexible for your busy lifestyle.
