Stay far away

I received a box; however: I did not pick any meals and after I had opened an account and I cancelled it 15 minutes afterwards. How is it possible to capture my credit card information, billed me for an order and sent me a box of lord knows what?

Crooked Company

First box arrived with meat leaking all over the rest of the food items in the box. Called Hello Fresh and reported it, they said they would credit the account. After a few more deliveries, things got a little better, but still no credit. Called and asked when this would be applied and I was told when you have an order that does not have any discounts on it. So they continued to add tiny discounts on every overpriced order to avoid having to provide the credit. Lied to us every time we talked to them. I canceled the service and they sent another box anyway and charged my card. The last delivery had leaks and the food was covered in some kind of slime. Hello Fresh is a rip off and customer service is a joke. Don't waste your time and money with these people.

I am not welcome on HF site but that is not important. I love their recipes and how easy is to make them. I made Cheesy Smothered Mushroom Chicken today. It was so delicious and easy to make! I love to cook and make different things. I am so thrilled to share it tomorrow with my coworkers, just to watch their faces when they will taste it. Next are Dijon Pork Chops
With Crispy Potato Cakes and Asparagus. But that's next review.

I will not be a future customer. The food is good don't get me wrong, but all the issues and problems I've had don't make the good food worth it to me.

First of all you can only do a gift card up to $140 so I received 5 different codes to use as gift card. Once you create a account you can only apply ONE gift card code at a time. So if you have a small balance left from prior gift card to use on your next box your payment method on file will be charged no matter what. I call to try and get refunded the amount my card was charged and use my next gift card but they are unable to do that due to "their system and was told that's not how hello fresh works".

If you forget to choose what meals you want for a week they will choose for you which I'm ok with but... they choose the meals with a up charge which will then be charged directly to your credit card on file not your gift card. Balance.

YOU ARE UNABLE TO USE GIFT CARDS OR CREDITS ON ANY DESSERTS, ADD ONS OR MEAL UPCHARGES.

They deliver your boxes at 8:00 in the evening, so don't plan on making one of your meals that night. They also have a expiration date of usually a few days. (One of my boxes meals expired 3 days after receiving the box which came with 6 meals)

I received several meals with missing ingredients as well as some veggies bad.
Doesn't normally come with free delivery like most delivery services.

One week I never received my box although marked delivered by delivery service used.

I'm seriously not one to complain but each order I've gotten there has been a issue and my card has been charged several times (over $100 maybe even $150). I'm a stay at home mom so these gift cards were given to me for that reason, save money on groceries and to help save time making dinner. I WILL BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER DELIVERY SERVICE NOW. ILL NEVER RECOMMEND HELLO FRESH OR USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN.

Gimmick

Don't order! My wife ordered the trial it is not worth it. She took forever trying to find where to cancel it. She has canceled it twice and they still continue to send it. Today she is having to cancel her credit card to stop the charges.
You can purchase better quality for 1/3 of the price. DON'T ORDER!

Gift Card Fraud

Bought a gift card for elderly parents. HelloFresh requires a credit card number with the gift card. HelloFresh fraudulently signed them up for a subscription and charge their credit card $70 for food they DID NOT ORDER and DID NOT WANT.
HelloFresh will NOT refund money. Run a round with customer service - long wait times. ELDER FRAUD
BEWARE - DO NOT BUY OR USE GIFT CARD WITH HELLO FRESH as they will automatically sign you up for a subscription.

I have had 2 deliveries so far. In both, key items were missing. In the first, all the meat was short dated & had to be used within 2 or 3 days of receipt and some vegetables were limp. In week 2 a recipe was missing. In week 2, I was charged £5.98 extra for a venison recipe; I did not receive venison, I believe contrary to trade description. I was sent sirloin steak. Why?! It's not the same as venison, I don't like steak and would never have ordered it. Despite going online, after receiving the second box and being disappointed again & clicking on, first of all 'Skip a week' & then when I found it 'Stop deliveries,' thinking that would cancel my subscription, a payment has again been taken from me and another box is being sent. As I didn't want it, I didn't make choices, so have to accept what I'm sent. I have now managed to cancel my subscription. Not an experience I want to repeat. If you want the convenience, aren't bothered about low quality meat, eg if you want chicken breast rather than chicken thigh, which is what is sent for chicken, you have to pay extra & if you're a fan of tacos & naan type bread & black beans, you'll be ok. Remember, you can buy chicken thigh meat & very fatty pork very cheaply in supermarket. With Hello fresh, you're paying at least £10 a meal for 2 people. You can get a really good quality, prepared meal for less in supermarkets, if you're short of time for preparing meals. I have tried attaching images, but they aren't being accepted.

I found Hello Fresh to be the worst of the meal kit options available. Do you really need a meal service to make chili or chicken and rice? Portions are small for the price... and the environmental impact of shipping and all of the packaging and plastic... makes this a definite NO

Be careful with the auto-renewal feature. I went into my account settings and cancelled every week that was listed as a weekly delivery. I didn't receive an email notification, an email asking if I wanted to change my menu preferences, a text or any other communication that would trigger the fact that I had a new order coming. What I did get is a text letting me know to expect a new delivery. Nice of them!

Of course, it was an auto-payment as well and you don't have the option to cancel the order once the order has been "placed", whether you know it's been placed or not!

Poor website poor customer service

Poor onbaording process, made to add payment method and charged before choosing boxes. Then not charged correct amount joining as a new customer. Customer service not interested in rectifying the issue. Unsubscribed immediately.

My first box still has not arrived. It's days late, no courier update. But a credit towards my next box was offered. Think not! Had to fight for a refund that will take 5 to 10 business days. Amazing they take our $$ immediately, but to return takes week. Save yourself hassle. Go to the grocery store! What a disappointment & aggravating first & last experience! You can see my empty plate picture! No box, no food, no $$

They are not transparent with the costs. I ordered 2 meals and only paid $28 at checkout. After changing a meal it had charged me $57. For 2 meals and the meal did NOT state it was a special meal! I called customer service since I couldn't change the order and they were not helpful. This app is horrible and I could have gone out to eat for the price of the 2 meals to a very place. This is the LAST time I order hello fresh. Also very hard to see images (they are so tiny on the directions) and not entirely clear for beginner cooks.

I have had 17 boxes delivered to a family member attending law school, very few problems, on time. Suddenly week 18 and 19 the payment not going through. I called three times, verified with bank funds available, at Hello Fresh's insistence. Hello Fresh flips me off saying it's on my end. Asked for a supervisor to correct situation, supervisor refuses to speak with me. Customer Service reps have no information to give out and no one able to resolve issue. Very dissatisfied with company at this point.

THE WORST!

Never had such an awful experience after cancelling my account they continued to send me packages so I went as far as cancelling / putting a hold on my card! All of the sudden they show up at my door after being out of town for vacation to rotted food that they charged me for! I called again to tell them to stop and they said I had never cancelled it... It's a nightmare dealing with them! I am a single mom who works 60 hours a week this was suppose to make my life easier I assure you that isn't the case.

I have been with hello fresh for almost a year. After receiving 32 boxes of meals with recipes, I can provide feedback with my experience.At the beginning hello fresh was great. I liked not having to thing about what meals I would make for the week. Meals well balanced an no food waste. However, over the past three months I have to call at least twice a month due to mistakes, not receiving meals as they were not shipped, or wrong meals sent.

Was automatically enrolled and charged for a first delivery in order to redeem gift cards given to me for Christmas. Under no circumstances should I have to be charged a penny in order to redeem gift cards. The whole thing reeked. I had to call and have them reverse the charges and I threw out the gift cards.

Gets expensive

Food is good. Price is great when you start up. Just paid $64 for 2 meals. Nothing special, pictures attached. I could have gotten at local grocer way cheaper. Tried to cancel. Followed instructions. The link to cancel never comes up. They ask you use an actual computer. I did. Still no button to cancel.
