Charged $67 no refund

I was looking through the menu for hello-fresh because of a promotion for a free meal. When I was done I was told that I didn't have enough money for the order, so I went on with my life until I was paid more than 2x the price of the order for work. I found out this morning that I had ordered a box with 3 meals for $67. And I was mad because I didn't want it. So I called customer support to cancel the order but they tried to get me to change my schedule from every week to every month. But I eventually cancelled the extra 3 boxes because I didn't even want the first one.

Beware

My girlfriend was given a gift certificate and went on the site to look at meals. I then separately went on the site to look at meals. We were going to confer and decide which ones to go with, but hello fresh submitted both our orders without our consent. We never reached the end screen or submitted anything. Beware you have to put your credit card in first and then look at meals! Very shady I called and spoke with a representative who talked in circles and would not help me cancel my order. Once I saw my credit card had been charged my girlfriend also called and got a different representative who had the same talk track of going in circles and not actually helping us.

SCAMMERS

Do not start an order with these people. You will be charged no matter what you do. Customer Service is a joke. Disconnected my call when I told them I never saw the meals I was getting because app stated meals not saved. Then a debit was submitted on my checking account. I didn't even receive a receipt! SCAMMERS!

Awful Experience

My Family wanted to try out HelloFresh and had high hopes. We are so disappointed. Since we signed up later at night the system said we had to decide before midnight of the same day you sign up. We weren't prepared to make selections in under 30 minuets so we tried to cancel. So they charged us anyway and are sending something we did not pick. When we tried to change or cancel the order they told us no and said "we should have read the terms & conditions"
Absolutely terrible system and customer service! We can't even give the food a fair evaluation because we are so turned off by how terrible the system and people were!
We will absolutely not actually sign up for this nor recommend it to anyone!

Bait and switch

I was on the web site and saw the promo for 16 free meals for signing up. I filled out the application and got to the point of entering the code for the 16 free meals. After entering the code it said that promotion was no longer available. I felt this was a bait and switch so I did not complete the sign up. Several days later I received a box from HelloFresh. I called to find out why I was sent the meals. Customer support told me that when I entered my credit card information I was set up even though I did not complete the order. What I received was not what I would have ordered. I canceled and was told I would receive no future shipments, but I would not receive a refund.

Horrible Company

Saw an ad where Hell Fresh offered a fifty percent off for delivered meals. We thought we would give it a try and I log onto the official site. I proceed to fill out the pertinent information including credit card info which is charged immediately. I attempt to pick my meal plan which is automatically set at 4 days a week. I pick my meal plan and then at check out I notice that there are meals that I didn't select. I make the changes and try to confirm my order and it reverts back to my original order? After trying this three times I decided that this isn't worth my time. I get an agent on live help and attempt to cancel my account. I get the standard shady company rhetoric like she doesn't hear what I am asking. Instead she's telling me I'm going to see if I can fix your order. I tell her no, I want to cancel my account and again she says I'll fix this. After eight minutes, I give her my formal request to cancel our meals. The agent tells me sorry she is not allowed to cancel memberships. So I end with so I'm paying for food that I won't eat and she tells me "sorry." This is a low end company beware of giving them your credit card info!

I used them before years ago and decided to see if i wanted to use it again so I deactivated my email in order to see the coupons they've sent out only to find out a month later that food was being shipped to my old address and my card was being charged weekly called to get my money back and I was hung up on called back and was told a supervisor would call me back. I wish this place all the bad it's truly a scam don't open any emails from them I will be taking it to small claims for scamming me

I have used Hello Fresh on and off for over a year. I have had the issue in the past that I missed to skip a meal and in the past as long as I called the next day they could cancel my order and refund me. THIS HAS CHANGED! They will no longer cancel and refund your order if you miss the cut off. This week I will be receiving an order from Hello Fresh and an order from Everyplate (sister company). Neither of them would let me cancel my order. I will now have too much food and not enough money to pay bills. Because of this they lost a customer to both companies. The kicker is that they can not cancel your order the day after but they can change the meals in the order. This does not make sense. My box is not coming until next week. With technology these days, cancelling the day after should not be a problem. Let me say this was never a problem in the past but all of a sudden it is policy. Goodbye Hello Fresh.

Watch out

I visited their website out of curiosity to see what their menu options were! I have had an account in the past, 5 or 6 years ago. I DID NOT order anything and yet was charged $70 in less than 24 hrs on my Paypal account for food I never would have picked and didn't want…. They refused to refund my money, sent unwanted dinners, which I gave away, they said by visiting their website I had opened an old account. I WILL NEVER EVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN! Visitor beware! Same thing happened to my neighbor!

I called the company three times, to find out I had 2 accounts. One of them was auto created when I used PayPal instead of a credit card.
I was assured by customer service that the two accounts were combined on my third call. The representative assured me that my new address was saved.
I received notification that I received a box. Upon investigation I found that the delivery was to my old address. I called the company to ask for a credit for the box, since it was delivered to the wrong address.
I was told no. In addition the customer service rep hung up on me. I was not screaming or cursing. Just frustrated.
I called back. Explained to the new rep what the issue was. After being told they had no record of me calling before, it was my problem and there would be no credit given. When I asked if the rep was in the US, he hung up on me!
During 2020 I did use hello fresh. The ingredients started becoming sub par, sometimes one day from being rotten. Other times the veggie of the recipe was substitute for a cheaper veggie that did not even go in the recipe. For example, instead of asparagus for chicken with mushrooms and asparagus sauce, the box would take out asparagus and put in sweet potato.
When I called I was told it was because of the supply issues caused by the pandemic.
I thought I would try them again and can say NEVER EVER use this service!

Hello Fresh getting sloppy with orders

I've been doing Hello Fresh for just over a year. Yes it's a tad expensive, but I like the convienence and for the most part I really enjoy the meals. Customer service is always friendly and has usually been able to resolve any issues I have. Initially everything arrived on time and all the ingredients were there. Not so much the past month+ I'm beginning to receive orders that are missing ingredients and in one case the cooking card was missing and in another case the wrong cooking card was sent. Now you can go to the website and get the instructions if you need, but I prefer to look at the card while I'm preparing. The order this week was missing carrots. I got a $6 credit and I can pop down to the grocery store and buy some, but the point is that they were missing from my order. Hello Fresh is already a bit expensive, you should receive everything you paid for. I was missing the "Tex/Mex" paste in another order and that wasn't so easy to replicate. I tried, but it wasn't as good as the paste that should've been in the bag. Additionally I've noticed that they've been paring down the recipes. The same dinners I got months ago, now have been reformulated without certain ingredients and/or the amount you get (say cheese) has been reduced. I have to say I really like the concept, but I'm thinking about canceling Hello Fresh and trying out another company

I would rate this a zero star if I could. They refused my coupon code on the first order. I cancelled with 5 minutes since they wouldn't accept the discount offer. They refused and charged me full price. The customer service is terrible. I would avoid this company. There is plenty of other choices

I selected a delivery date for two weeks out and they are delivering a box this week. One hour and 13 minutes later for them to tell me they can not cancel it. Th order was placed hours ago and I chose the right date. The rep said that the first delivery often takes the first coming date, as if it overrides you- but they made no concession. They say a "label" was made and even though the box has not shipped, they can not/will not cancel it. It was being shipped to a place I am staying for a week in another state- no one is there and it will go to waste. They won't refund the money even after insisting it happens because of their system. What a bunch of morons. They paid a rep to spend that much time on the phone, and I am waiting for a supervisor to call- I am sure they won't. This is principal for me because my hour is worth more than the damn box- but I will waste their time to more than the tune of the money. I told them to pull the box and donate it to a shelter or someone- shame on them. Dishonest- Dumb and NO BUSINESS SENSE!

Mediocre at best

Long story short.
Don't try and refer anyone. You'll just make things super hard for whoever you refer and they will end up being charged for a "free" gift.
The food is pretty much same meals each week so if your looking for variety. Look elsewhere.
If you do have any issues trying to get someone in customer service to do their job is genuinely just a tall ask from this company and pretty much impossible. Everyone just points a finger at someone else. Accountability isn't something they know or understand.
After 2 years of service I gave it a valiant effort. I've tried to cancel a few times but they make it almost impossible since they continue to send boxes and charge you even when they say it's canceled.
Shame on such a big company to take advantage of our cards being locked into the website.

I received my very first box, and not a single meal that was chosen by me (including two PREMIUM meals that I paid extra for) were in my box... to top this off, my delivery date was updated at 4:30 PM from being "Out for delivery" to a rescheduled delivery for the following day and no delivery attempt had even been made. After going out grocery shopping for the original delivery night already, I come home to find that my HelloFresh box, was in fact delivered and the box was completely busted open and so every single thing had been completely thawed out, including the cheap ice packs. I was only offered a $40 refund of $90 because I refused to ever have another box delivered by HelloFresh again and did not want a credit that couldn't be used until the end of my promotion on week 12. Save your time and money because this is a complete SCAM. You cannot get ahold of anyone at UPS which is the only delivery service that they use and HelloFresh customer service is a TOTAL joke. I wish that I would have seen these reviews before I wasted $50...… I have also been fighting with them for the $40 refund that was offered to me weeks ago. BEWARE and steer clear

Take Complaints to the BBB

Hello Fresh does not care about customer satisfaction, as they say they do. I experienced the same signup problem that at least a dozen others experienced so far this year. When signing-up it suggests a date that then cannot be edited and the food cannot be, either, even though it says on every page that you'll have a chance to customize. Two customer service rep's hung-up on me. Had to use technical support to find a helpful person who seemed like he cared. Was refused a refund, even though everything wrong was their website's fault. Filed a complaint at the NY Better Business Bureau, and I received a refund within 24hrs. They don't care about you when you're a customer, but they care if you broadcast your issues, I guess.

Fraudulent business

I subscribed to their service for a few months for my son to help when his family moved. They kept my credit care in que and when my daughter in law OPENED an email, it instantly signed me up again - even though I DID NOT want to. I received an email from my credit card company saying I had renewed the subscription. NO I DID NOT! I called Hello Fresh within hours of receiving the email only to be told sorry you must cancel 5 days before shipment. But they had sent the email 4 days before shipment. So sorry, you're screwed, you MUST be charged for the renewal, no they could not cancel the order, even tho I didn't know anything about the order until 4 days before shipment! Fraudulent to the max! SO BEWARE! They will keep your credit card and charge it when they want to, without your consent and then blame you for you lack of timing of 5 days when you only received it 4 days ago! What a hideous company - there are many others out there which I will look into when I need this type of service again. STAY AWAY! I filed with the BBB which has several other complaints against this company!

Hello fresh is a SCAM

I did not even ask for a box and they did not notify they were sending one…. They charged me 51 dollars for it. And when I asked to cancel the box and get me refund. They said nothing can be done about it. I am never recommending this to anyone and telling people not to subscribe to Hellofresh. I was actually thinking of continuing the meal later on. But looking at their customer service I am not doing that. What a scam! Bull$#*! service and Bull$#*! customer care. I would give them negative stars if that were an option.

Soooo, my friends order HelloFresh and I'll give it to you, HELLOOO FRESH! The meals are great, the veggies are always fresh and delicious, the meats, eh coulda used a bigger portion.
All the meals say 15-30 min prep and cook time, BUT they never once stated that it would cover the kitchen in prep utensils, (knives, bowls, pots and pans, cutting board, etc) and honestly, they should tell me it would take 2 hours to clean up the plethora of mess that is hello fresh.
I think you should send disposable dishes, Clorox wipes AND Dawn dish soap. I put that $&?T on everything. Do you realize how much soap i actually use? And my water bill, what are you guys gonna do about it.

On another note, why does all the food taste like Dawn dish soap?
Coming from a happy but irritated customer.
3/5 stars, might recommend if you wanna do dishes, this is great for housekeepers.

I used HelloFresh last year and had to stop because of delivery issues and missing ingredients. They emailed me and asked me to come back guaranteeing they had resolved their issues. So I tried. My first box came 8 days late. There was no insulation in the box and the one ice pack was busted and goo was everywhere. All the food was spoiled and soiled. I tried for seven weeks to get a refund but was abused and lied to by their support team and never received a refund.
