The Duluth Georgia office closed without any notifications to it's clients. When asked for details related to hearing aid warranties, medical records, and potential reopening dates, I was met with rude, non-helpful responses. I should add, the staff before this closing was very professional and helpful and I'm sorry to hear they left but there is no way I'll go back to HearUSA after this experience.
I bought my hearing aids at HearUSA a few months ago. From the beginning the left hearing aid kept falling off. I've had hearing aids for many years, and this never happened before. Went back twice about the problem. Now the hearing aid is lost. I was told that all I can do is spend another $400 for another pair. This is a total scam for sure.
I had a 2:30 appointment on 11-03-205. I am 86 years old, retired, and wasn't thinking about the govt. Time change. So I arrived an hour early for my appointment. The door was locked. Frustrated, I banged on the door to let someone know I was there. Finally, the door opened and I was greeted with great hostility by a blond woman, who said to stop banging on the door or she would "call the cops." I said that I had a 1:30 appointment. She said I was too early. They are closed now. "Do you want me to go home?' " I replied. She said that I should "go shopping". I said at 86 years. I was not up to shopping. She let me in to sit down saying "Don't be banging on our door like that "and then said that they were having lunch and it was company policy to lock the door during lunch. I said that if they locked the door at a certain time, they should tell people. She said there was a sign on the door (which there wasn't) and told me to calm down. Later, three other people, who were correct with the time change, came a bit early and were also locked out. I tried to let them in but couldn't unlock the door. The blonde woman came in and unlocked the door and let them in. Later, another woman, the receptionist, came in, also hostile, and said it was company policy that they should get their lunch break with the door locked. The other who came after me were dealt with first. I guess that was okay with company policy and all. I am not used to being treated so badly by a business, especially since I have spent several thousand dollars on their services. I had the time wrong, I came early, my spouse brought me too early, we both had the time wrong. For that I was treated as the enemy. There were no kind or polite words. Only hostility. It used to be that the customer is always right. I guess those days are gone. My pricy hearing aids need repair. I left and don't want to deal with those women again. I wish there were somewhere else I go to get it done.
2nd set, never could get them adjusted to work properly for me. I actually could hear better without them. Would advise go to another company. I wasted a large amount of money twice at this company in St. Augustine, Fl.
I had a problem with the hearing aids, he explained what I needed to do, to improve the performance, and how to help prevent the issue from happening again. He took the time to show and explain the problem and how to take steps to help prevent it from happening again. I was very satisfied with how he handled my situation. Joe Bellavance
Everyone is very nice when you are buying their product but the real test comes when that product doesn't work reliably or won't work at all… I've having the same issue for the second time with 5 month old hearing aids. They just stop working and you have to sent them off for repair… what do you do while your "new" hearing aids are under repair? You have to go back to not hearing at all… No urgency or concern faulty products. Sorry you're SOL and be sure to make an appointment to tell us about the issues… To bad if your hearing aids are out all weekend so you walked in on a Monday. Tough luck being em back tomorrow or the next day when we have an appointment…. Worst service imaginable
Unfortunately most of the audiologists are trained mainly in Hear USA hearing aids. If you require another brand you
May be sent miles away to find a knowledgeable audiologist. My life style requires hearing aids that use disposable batter. The audiologists near me could only offer a hearing aid that would not cover my hearing loss. I finally found an audiologist who could order me another brand that is not pushed by Hear USA. I ordered the hearing aid in June, it is now November. I have left messages many times and when I do get a person l, I am told the audiologist will return my call. As of today, this has not occurred. I believe sadly Hear USA has become Hear USSR.
My husband and I were both tested today. We found them to be professional, efficient and congenial.
I would give this place a 5, Yeah right, a minus 5. I sent a hearing aid in for repair over a month ago and to date I still don't have it back. Every time I call to check on status, it's a different story. Always someone else's fault.
People never call back to give you information. Their little automated jingle is hilarious, "hearing care beyond compare". They even suggested I call my adjuster when it's their job to do that not mine. In order to get "anything" accomplished, that's exactly what I had to do. It was 2 weeks before the hearing aid was ever sent in because "someone forgot to send it". Every time I've had to deal with these people it's been a nightmare. Needless to say, once if ever, I get my hearing aid back, my next set of hearing aids will not be purchased from them, Don't go here for anything.
I am still struggling with it/ I've been back so many times I've been told to call opr
It seems we are not on the same page-
Sitting next to someone on a bus I did not understand a word said
Never answer phone takes weeks to service and not repaired correctly. Bronx ny location/ hearing aids ring sounds and tinny
I wish that I could use more than 100 characters! Wesley and Aspen treated me with respect and thorough examination and report of findings even though they knew I would not be purchasing as mine are supplied by the VA. I found no short cuts in my exam or treatment. Service Driven Professionals!
Purchased hearing aids at HEAR USA in Ocala RT 200 for over $3000 plus insurance, WORST condescending hearing aid ( specialist?) I have ever had to tolerate. When I told her there is a chirping noise when I chew, she says "then don't chew"! In the beginning of 3rd visit I asked if she could give me the circular inserts because they fit very comfortable vs the rectangular ones. She told me they don't have them. The 5th and final visit on Monday I will be returning them for a refund which my insurance company has agreed to. All of a sudden they have circular ear piece?
The receptionist was not friendly at all and could not tell me if there was a deductible due when in fact the website offers a free hearing checkup. The doctor was also not friendly and not very informative other than showing me the test results that I was not able to have a copy of when i asked. I felt that I was imposing on her day and that she would rather be doing something else. The website said that I would be fitted with a set of hearing aids in the office to see what a difference they would make for me but when Dr Jamie asked if I wanted to buy hearing aids that day, I said no. At that point I felt that I was being dismissed and pretty much all conversation was over. I asked for a brochure on the aids and the appointment was over. I have an appointment with a different doctor's office tomorrow.
The audiologist, Rebeca Kennedy, in Winter Haven, FL location was rude and had no desire to help me. From the very first moment she acted like I was bothering her. Brought me in the back, told me she hadn't had time to look at my chart, without offering to test my hearing stated that the hearing aids would be too expensive and did I really want to pay that. Said she had no time to look up an insurance code. She was mean, obnoxious, angry, and insulting. I will never recommend HearUSA to anyone, especially my community of 937 retired homeowners.
I sent in one of my hearing aids for A replacement in February, and of yet to have my hearing aid, I've made more than multiple calls to different offices here in Los Angeles, and have called Florida. My wife and my stepdaughter have also called. When you speak to someone they're very nice but in the meantime, since February, I have no hearing aid. I missed my son's vows at his wedding. I'm a physician and have a hard time hearing my patients and I've basically have been suffering and beyond frustrated with Hearing USA. All they have to do is send the hearing aid back to me and they just don't. They even make appointments for me to go to an office in Santa Monica California, there is no one there. I will now have to go to court to sue to get to be able to hear.Don't trust their Niceties on the phone. They are completely disorganized.
I've been around high volume things my whole life. At the strong urging of family members, I decided to get my hearing checked. I went to Kaiser. They said I need hearing aids and recommended Hear USA. Once there, Im handed a box with "programable" hearing aids. Here, put these in your ears to try them. I asked about how long it takes to get used to them. The tech said a couple weeks to a month. $4400 later, I come home with a pair of Signia hearing aids. I'm told to download an app from the web that will work with them. A month layer I go back because I'm having an issue. That tech dosent work there anymore. Now these are out of warranty, and real pieces of CRAP! If I call you they work. If you call me they don't work. I'm telling you all who read this.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Sadly hear USA has deteriorated. Now the company in Southern California only sells its own hearing aid brand. That is Signia. Signia only offers rechargeable hearing aids which I am uncomfortable with. Also Signia has not worked for me in the past. In addition, they have changed their communication system and centralized it. Making it less user friendly. I can't call the office directly or even leave a message. Instead, I have to be on hold for over an hour in order to talk to someone. No one called me to make an appointment to pick up hearing aids. Instead they assign an appointment. I received a text 2 days before the appointment to confirm. I couldn't go to the appointment, so my opinion was to call to reschedule. Which brings me back to an hour or more wait. I need choices and a real person to talk to. Hear USA in Southern California does not seem to offer that.
Sadly HearUSA does not offer Phonic or Oticon hearing aids anymore. I was only offered Signia. I would rather have a hearing aid with disposable batteries, because I am active and travel. I don't want to worry about having to pack and care for a charger. I also don't want to worry about power supplies in other countries or if there are enough outlets available. Because I have a moderately to severe hearing loss, I am terrified that the charger, like many chargers, will fail and I will not be able to hear and participate in social experiences. Luckily I can bring an old pair of hearing aids for backup, but that's another thing to carry. The rechargeable hearing aids last 3 to 4 maybe 5 years. Disposable battery hearing aids last 5 to 7 years. I can use disposable battery hearing aids as backup or donate them. Rechargeable hearing aids just become disposable.
My last experience with Signa was not good. I had a continuous wave sound in my hearing aids that could not be fixed. So with special permission, I was able to get Oticon, which have been awesome! Unfortunately today, I am only given the choice of Signia's motion change and go.
Sadly, Kaiser only has a contract with hear USA, therefore limiting me to a company that offers no choice. So a 5 company has now become a 1 company. My needs are not being met by the new Hear USSR.
Ive not had any problems with my hearing aids I only lose one In winter because they get caught in my hat...
