WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ARE COUNTRY! You idiots that voted for Barack Obama, Thank you, you $#*!ing idiots! Now I'm going to get penalized for something I can't afford right now but people that don't work get hand out for everything what's wrong with this picture?

Flawed system
July 11, 2017

My wife had healthcare through healthcare.gov and I lost my insurance through my job. So, obviously I applied for insurance through healthcare.gov through special enrollment. I selected only myself in this application since my wife already had insurance. Low and behold... my wife is sent a letter saying that they received her request to terminate insurance. Never in the application did it state that my application would terminate my wife's insurance. Nor does it make sense to add my wife to my application when she already has insurance! We contacted the marketplace several times over the course of two weeks and many of the people seemed to be at a loss of what we should do, other than have me redo my application and add my wife since she cannot apply since she does not qualify for special enrollment. Sound complicated? It is, and quite honestly I sympathize with many of the workers who have to deal with this system. Our solution was to redo my application, add my wife, and of course our available healthcare options were not the previous plans that we had. This means that we are paying a higher premium for health insurance that we do not use (except peace of mind) and my wife is still without insurance until next month.

Have had to contact hc.gov at least 10 times to make a change in my coverage. EVERY SINGLE PERSON (MANAGERS INCLUDED) ARE TOTALLY INEPT. Everything takes "2 weeks" finally got so frustrated I requested my entire policy be terminated which they said would take... 2 weeks. I will not be paying for any "coverage" from this point on since they can't verify that I have coverage for the next 2 weeks. I've never seen anything like it.

DO NOT WORK WITH MARKETPLACE! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE I KNOW TO USE MARKETPLACE. NO ONE IS EVER HELPFUL. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE THAT CANNOT DO THE BASIC ESSENTIALS THEIR JOB. I NEEDED HEALTH INSURANCE FOR 1 MONTH BETWEEN JOBS... 1 MONTH... SHAME ON ME FOR THINKING A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM WOULD HAVE ANYTHING LESS THAN HALF WITS. I PLACED A CALL A MONTH INTO THE PROGRAM REMINDING THEM THAT IT NEEDED TO BE CANCELED AT MONTH END BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE IT THROUGH MY JOB. I CONFIRMED 7 DAYS AFTER MONTH THAT IT WAS CANCELLED AND THEY STATED IT HAD NOT BEEN, THAT IS WAS NEVER CANCELLED. So 15 DAYS FROM THERE IS WHERE MY COVERAGE WOULD STOP! NEEDLESS TO SAY I NOW HAVE A 580 BILL FOR INSURANCE I NEVER WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE! THEY OPEN AN ESCALATION ON THE BACK DATING AND I GET AN ANSWER OF "NO" IT CAN'T BE COMPLETED. THY WOULD NOT PROVIDE REASONING, JUST THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP. THANKS MARKETPLACE. I HOPE THEY GET SHUT DOWN.

Tried to sign up due to losing my job which was downsized. It is so expensive that I can't afford it and the medicine I am on will only be covered for 50% which is leaving a hefty bill I can't afford. I wanted something to help people not hurt so bad. Can someone who doesn't make over 6 figures please review these amounts so people making normal wages can afford this.

Liars!
June 10, 2017

Called because I lost my job 2 Mos ago. Rep said policy was cancelled as of the day of my call. Hot a bill 1 week later. Called and was informed that policy was not cancelled and would take 14 days from today to cancel. Asked the rep to read the notes from my initial call 10 days earlier. Notes clearly stated I was calling to cancel due to loss of income. Asked for a supervisor. Supervisor said he would TRY to retro act the cancellation. Asked if he was able to review the recorded call. Supervisor said 'maybe'. Also imfomed me that if i cancelled, i could not enroll again until Nov and would get a fine for no ins. This place is ridiculous. Every person gives different info. Probably will still get billed for this policy. And good luck with the website. I found it easier to wait on hold for 30 min and talk to idiots and liars.

Applied for coverage back in January 2017 and guess what? Still don't have coverage! They don't communicate with other health care insurance companies get nasty give you the run around! Unbelievable! Then the rep I was talking too had the balls to say to me 'oh my god'! Seriously? Good customer service! Not... And now they are trying to say that I have to retro pay $900 when I haven't gone to doctors bc of the lack of insurance! I still have no health insurance even though I qualify for it. This company is disgusting.

SCENARIO: WIDOWER AS OF mid march...

Marketplace/healthcaregov complete idiots trying to remove dead spouse off healthplan. They messed up the date of death so had to expedite a ticket to backtrack. Then they messed up the SSN, DOB, Sex etc on my application itself. 1295 mins and 87 calls later back and forth from marketplace/healthcare and Anthem... as of today it's still not resolved. FYI anthem reps were kind enough to give up 1 hour and 50 mins on each call to do a 3 way call with marketplace. You know the marketplace is incompetent when they have to be on the call to help sort it out.
Market place escalated 2 tickets on 3/27 and 5/3 and still no luck as of today. COMPLETE MESS- YOU GUYS NEED TO GET FUNDING TO WIPEOUT UR WHOLE PROCESS AND REDO IT FROM SCRATCH. ITS GOD AWFUL. UR REPS DON'T CARE, THE SYSTEM IS TOO ARCHAIC. YOU NEED TO IMPLEMENT SOME MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS OR CREATE A NEW SERVER/SYSTEM. THIS DAY AND AGE, U NEED TO DO BETTER ESPECIALLY SINCE EVERYONE ELSE IS ON THAT TRACK. YALL ARE $#*!ING IDIOTS.

How does a supervisor by the name of Mike Young still have a job with a government agency after so many complaints have been issued on him? He is the rudest, most unhelpful and unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with at any sort of organization. He needs to be fired and so does every other person that cannot fulfill any requests or take any responsibility for what is going wrong with that organization.

My premium jumped from 17.11$ to $432 like wtf?! I get $9 per hour, I send them all the damn proofs! I called them they said I lost my tax credit because my informations didn't match while nobody can find my application. I felt so bad... I was so pissed off. I just cancelled it and they it's going to be cancelled in two weeks so I'm responsible for the $432. I don't have that amount. NOBODY CAN FIND MY APPLICATION but they said my information didn't match wow! NEVER AGAIN!

I called to cancel since I got a job and they can't cancel until the middle of next month. I don't need another 14 days of insurance. The government is quite literally making me burn $300 of my hard earned money. Thanks for "help"? What a joke.

Incompetent reps,
April 25, 2017

I purchased a policy and was very happy with it. 2017 rolled around and for no reason whatsoever i lost my subsidy. No big deal i'll just cancel. Well i was told i could not cancel intul the middle of the next month. So the next month rolled around and i was billed for another premium but this time with the subsidy. Which is it? Do i get it or not. Well i still want the policy cancelled but now i can't cancel it because i had insurance. Wtf. I had insurance that i didn; t want nor did i pay for?!?! Seriously thats what theyre telling me. I don't make enough money to get the subsidy but i make too much for medicaid. Every single time i call the 1800# i am told something different by a rep and no one can ever get on the same page. I can't wait to see the healthcare marketplace fail. I thought the purpose of the ACA was universal coverage 45% of americans are still without coverage. Nice work

NO. WAY.
April 13, 2017

I applied for a special enrollment period, and it took them over a month to tell me I do not qualify since my current job offers insurance. The reason I didn't take my job's insurance is because it's $400/month which I cannot afford. Since it took them so long to tell me I don't qualify, I missed the open enrollment period for my job. So now I have no choice but to NOT have coverage for the entire year. Not only that, but it is very confusing to try and send all the additional paperwork that they needed!

Incompentent system
April 6, 2017

InconvenienceThis is ridiculous. I have now called 3 times in the last month for my 1095 form because I have not received it by mail still, only to find out the last two staff I spoke with did not do their job and had not sent out my form. The first time was because it was the wrong address, not my current, which I had already informed the marketplace that my address was changed. The second time was the same response and the 3rd said what I experienced. Now they told me the option of getting it online. Well every single time I have tried to log into this site, it is unable to verify my account where I click the link to verify and don't see ANYTHING in my email or spam, as they told me to check. And with no verification I am an unable to log in to receive said form. This whole process has been a huge inconvenience and I'm left with no other options other than to wait for the forms to come in a month and now file an extension for my taxes to get done. I pay my health insurance monthly so why am I being punished for doing everything right, due to lack of competence?!?

I have always had helpful reps when talking to the healthcare.gov people. The website is pretty straightforward and transparent. Now, dealing with the health insurance companies, that's a whole other situation.
I read some of the reviews, mostly extremely negative. But I can't help but think that they have been paid by a third party. The comments are very negative but vague in details, so I won't be trusting those reviews, specially because of my own experience.
I live in New Jersey, married and a freelancer artist, couldn't survive without the healthcare exchange. In all fairness, New Jersey had a healthcare exchange before Obamacare, so maybe that's why it works smoothly over here.
Healthcare.gov has made it possible to set up my own successful business because I don't have to depend on being employed by someone else. How is that a bad thing? This is where freedom begins, doesn't matter what party you follow.

I have never encountered such rude liars in all of my life. Are we really paying for this?. I called the IRS and she was shocked that this is going on. They fixed the problem as soon as I told them, that they would not send me a 1095 A health. If I hear one more clipped accent trying to be superior I will go to Washington to appeal.
Sick sick people are working there.

Horrible
March 6, 2017

The most horrible customer service that I have had of all times. I had insurance for 1 month and they still have not sent the proper tax information; which is holding my claim. There website is crap and they don't link your account properly to get your tax information or account revsion. Do NOT USE this service. They have no answers or solutions. They SUCK! The supervisors have low level education skills and do not know how to treat others properly and don't care, because they only get paid minimum wage but think they deserve more... Please tell your friends!
