Headlight Experts has garnered mixed feedback regarding its reputation and customer service. On the positive side, many customers praise the quality and brightness of the LED headlights, as well as the effectiveness of the lifetime warranty, which is often highlighted as a significant benefit. However, there are notable concerns regarding customer service, particularly issues with return policies, perceived hostility from support staff, and difficulties in resolving product-related problems. Overall, while the product quality appears to be a strength, the company's customer service approach may require significant improvement to enhance customer satisfaction and trust.

Don't waist your money buying from Headlight Experts. I purchased a set of LED headlights with the Warning Cancellers / Capacitors+$10.00 I put the LED headlights in my truck and they didn't work correctly. One plug was broken so I contacted them. They informed me that I needed to purchase a set of resistors/decoders. Had I known that I would have bought all together. They also wanted pictures like I was lying or something. I email them the photos I was emailed and told me to send them in. I received the headlight and All they did was repaired the plug and sent them back. (Repaired not replaced!)After all that I hooked them up AGAIN and it still didn't work. I got looking at them and the wires were so loose they were separating from the plug as I was driving down the driveway. Contacted them to get a refund and was informed that I wouldn't get my money back because they don't do returns on used items. I never drove on the road I only made it to the end of my driveway and they weren't working correctly. Once u plug them into your vehicle and they don't work. Headlight Expires considers them used and will not give you a refund. You're stuck with light you can't rely on at night. Then I was told they had a lifetime warranty and they would repair them. Who wants a new product that has to be repaired before u can ever use them? The lifetime warranty is a joke all they do is replace the components and send them back to you. That's all they did with the plug because I marked the LED in a spot know one would see and sure enough I got the same light back. So I called them an that was a joke. Rude from the start and the Headlight "expert" rep threatened me and hung up. I was hung up on several time right from the start. I would strongly suggest no one buy anything from this company. They are so bad they have****** review's disabled. Please check every review site, you will see the nightmare other have experienced dealing with them. I only wish I would have checked before my purchased because I wouldn't have these junk LED Headlights I can't use.
These guys are not honest either on their website or in person. They claimed to have a set of headlights to me in 2 business days using their free shipping. Instead it took them 8 business days just to ship them and another 5 days to arrive. I cancelled the order after 5 business days before they shipped but they shipped the lamps late anyways even though I talked with them (Paul) on the phone telling him to cancel the order as well as in an email (which I still have). Then, the lights did not fit my vehicle as they said they would so I sent them back after getting the RMA authorization and them assuring me they fit. They did not! Then, after receiving the pieces back, they charged me 30% adjustment fee which includes (according to Paul) the 20% restocking fee plus a 10% free shipping charge. I paid for the return shipping myself so it was a total of the 30% charge plus what I paid for return shipping. Buyer beware, there are other places to buy headlights that care about customer service and are not crooks like these people.
I ordered LED s for 3 different trucks; they recommended and sent me the same H4 to all of my needs. Non of them matched. Cheap China LED s. Bre aware.
I ordered a headlight kit for a Peterbilt and was told it would ship and be received in a couple of days. I've waited over a week and it has not been shipped yet. After reading other reviews and numerous attempts to reach customer service I canceled my order. Stay away from these guys.
The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service experience of my life. Not only was the (only) representative rude, condescending and dismissive...he then proceeds to send me personal and threatening emails to MY WORK EMAIL! Not only would he needed to cyberstalk me to find this information, he threatens to contact the SC Real Estate Commission to "let them know about the type of person" I am since dealing with Headlight Experts. This company is horrible. BUYER BEWARE. I have my attorney reviewing these emails to ensure nothing more vindictive and/or maniacal comes from this sick psycho! Want a demented person that should not be operating a business!
Read all of the Trustpilot and BBB Reviews before ordering. This company has a pretty awful reputation, with over 125 negative reviews in the last three years alone.
BUYER BEWARE!
I contacted them about a headlight I bought which worked intermittently and this was their actual response:
"You're trying to tell a company that does this for a living that we're wrong.
Sorry you're too thick headed to listen to an experts opinion.
Don't quit your day job.
- HE
"
When I ordered headlights from this company, (HID kit+relay harness) I never received the relay harness included. When I reached out to customer service they were ok, no apology or anything and were short in their response but I didn't care so long as they delivered the product I paid for. And they did. Fast forward to 6 months later and one of my headlights won't turn on. No problem, I see that they have a lifetime warranty. So I send the email explaining the situation. Day goes by, no response. So I reach out to their "live chat" and dealt with the most miserable human being I've ever encountered. Just asked a simple question of when they might respond to the email and remarked how I feel unsafe driving with one headlight, and I was met with a response of "LOL" and a sarcastic explanation of their operating hours. To be honest, I didn't look at that nor do I care what their hours are. I just know they sold me a defective product and they need to honor their warranty as soon as possible.
Absolutley hands down worst buying experience anyone can have.Product is not plug and play as advertised. Look at how they responded, adn decide for yourself:
HLE Secondary Response:
Claiming we are false advertising, when you have no knowledge about how automobiles work is laughable.
It is crystal clear you are trying to defraud our company using a corporate email, which will be reporting, to try to get a double refund is laughable.
You are filing a dispute, and demanding a refund without returning the item.
Fraud and shoplifting is wrong. We apologize you have no idea what you are talking about, and don't know how to install a headlight kit. Stick to "IT", you shouldn't be around cars.
Secondary Response from Customer:
Headlight Experts
1. Advertising the kit as Plug and play conveys that your product is plugged into existing connections and functions correctly. This is not the case, a violation of truth in advertising and a breach of policy.
2. It is clearly evident the H11 connector provided in your kit does not properly seat into OEM coupler.
3. Please provide RMA, I'm disputing the charge as well.
4. There will be no restocking fee due to breach of policy, and false advertising.
Thanks,
Initial Response from HLE:
1 - Yes, these are plug and play as advertised.
2 - We can fix this. Please send us a picture of everything received.
3 - Please send us pictures. An H11 connector, is an H11 connector. They fit.
Thank you!
Initial Email from Customer:
Headlight Experts,
I have three issues:
1. Headlights are not plug and play for my 2013 Lexus ES350 as advertised. I have even tried to reverse the ballast input polarity as described in your YouTube video, but still does not work.
2. Ordered a replacement bulb that was not sent.
3. Oval adapter does not seat and lock into my harness on my car.
Thanks,
Headlight Experts. Let me tell you about this pieces of sh*t. One it was Christmas present so keep that in mind, 1st issue never received the spare lights that got paid for. Won't send the lights cause we didn't report it within 10 days even tho it said online they were on back order at Christmas time! One has a short in the box, the light works! But flickers turns off BC OF A SHORT IN A WIRE and they said need relay box it's voltage issue. So I don't recommend their fancy led blue lights. Life time warranty they advertise. But won't fix the issue!
The first time I ordered lights one of them did not work. The second time the lights did not fit my vehicle even though their search said they would.
They have the rudest customer service ever. I got a 9005 HID kit form them a while back and they wouldn't work with my DRL's. They had me spend more money on a adapter and still wouldn't work! In the end when I asked for a refund because they didn't work they refused and said I didn't know what I was doing hooking them up and I was hooking them up correctly. Out $160 I learned the hard way because they have their reviews disabled on Google and social media. I guess they don't like owning up to being a rip-off company!
BOUGHT 4 LED LIGHTS THEY QUIT WORKING IN THE DARK OF NIGHT WHILE DRIVING,WHAT A THRILL.THE OLD HALOGENS STILL WORK.
Went thru their online ordering process for my specific make and model. Got everything they said I needed and items would not work. No instructions or troubleshooting material came with the product. After emailing them they said I 'm not eligible for refund because items had been installed. Good luck with this company.
I purchased a HID conversion kit for my cars headlights. Only the high beam bulb was HID not the low beams, which you use the low beams 95 percent of the time. So what I ended up with was basically a halogen bulb that was the same brightness of the original OEM bulbs. The whole reason I purchased this kit was because my lights were not bright enough. I spent a little over $100 for this kit and they are not willing to refund my money, very shady company not to mention the quality of the kit was not good, i.e. Loose connectors cheap wiring. Save your money and buy from someone else. The smaller bulb is the low beams.
Updated: Based on recent communication with Headlight Experts:
After I submitted the review below, within several hours I received an email from Headlight Experts. They offered me a "courteous exception" to trade out the HID lights that did not work for LEDs. I would have to ship them the HID lights that did not work, at a USPS cost of $10.20, remove the review below and then they would in turn ship me new LED headlights. I stand on my review. This is a terrible vendor. Why does it take a negative review for any meaningful solution to take place? Yes, I will not get back any part of the original $100 cost, but if other potential customers can avoid the hassel I went through then it's worth the cost.
I purchased some HID headlights for my 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Adrenelin. Out of the box, the lights did not work. Emailed and called customer service. Received some very short, scripted responses that did not solve my issues with the lights. Sent them back requesting a refund or LED replacements. They sent me back the same HID lights I sent them without any expanation of what went wrong. I installed again. Same issues. Contacted customer support and they asked me to call Paul, yet again. Basically, all I want is my money back and they keep stringing me along.
I would stay away from this company. I have had a terrible experience with their lights, both the product and the customer service. I should have researched before wasting $100 on these bulbs.
Purchased their H13 Hi/Lo Dual Beam LED headlights. First issue was trying to get the order shipped. After placing the order, I received an email 2 days later saying it had shipped. In reality, nothing shipped because it was not in stock even though the website continued to claim it was. I finally received the product 3 weeks later (not 2 business days as the website claims). The lights themselves actually work great, but after I dealt with the shipping fiasco, the "expert" on the other end of customer service insists that the LED panels must be oriented vertically (12-6) in the headlight housing. Doing so resulted in a horribly spread out, washed out dim light. Can't even call it a beam. As soon as I clocked them horizontally to 3-9, I got a bright, focused horizontal beam, just what I had hoped for. Tried to explain that to the "expert(s)" but they refused to believe or listen. Customer service needs a real expert. They don't know their own product.
Called the "experts" before ordering a bulb kit. Told they would work no guaranteed! Bulbs arrived, not even close to being the correct bulbs. Called to talk to "tech support" Rudly told me, "Tech support is only via email, your order says that" and then they hung up on me!
The order receipt says nothing about tech support, only if you have a problem with your order.
"Email tech support" was in a word, worthless. No help whatsoever
Other than to say "That uses an adapter. We may have this available." From there the only thing we got back was a picture of some kind of adapter that will not work and "tech support" cannot even send a link as to how to even get the adapters even if we did want them.
To further add insult the only way to return the nonfitting kit was to get a return number from the company AND THEN THEY DO NOT PAY FOR RETURN SHIPPING AND THEY CHARGE A 20% "RESTOCKING" FEE!
I suspect that this company is a one-person operation, running out of his mother's basement!
Buy from him at your own peril!
Finally, I got the reimbursement for the defective item. I spent much more time and effort than I would have. And it's not easy to imagine how "funny" it could be if my car had burned...
UPDATE:
This store sold me two ballasts (high voltage devices for xenon headlights), which I ordered. They shipped my parcel two weeks after my payment and showed a disrespectful attitude. All that time I couldn't use my car. One of the two ballasts appeared defective; after being installed and turned on, it started burning (producing smoke and a plastic part melted). My tech decided to use one new ballast, and he had only the choice to use the old one in the second highlight. I explained the situation to the business (via email) and asked them for reimbursement and to send me a label for return. They answered that I have to send the part back to them at my expense, then they will test and replace it. I explained that I didn't need the part anymore, couldn't afford to pay for the repair again, and demanded my money back. They declined my request. So, I demand a reimbursement, I'm ready to send the item to them, but I don't want to spend money on that. Personal addition: the amount of money isn't very big, but this business is exceptionally irresponsible and disrespectful. My experience with them is terrible, and I fill my responsibility to show it to them and their potential clients.
They got my order and money 13 days ago and still haven't sent the items. I already suppose this company is fraudulent, or it is just very poor service.
USPS tracking is saying, "parcel acceptance is pending." I've been waiting for the parts for two weeks already. Nobody from the company contacted me, trying to manage the problem. I can't use my car for two weeks and not going to be able to do it some more. Tomorrow I will order the same parts from another store, and I highly recommend never to have deals with Headlightexperts!
5 months into a new set and again bulb is out they want the customer to pay shipping for a replacement.
Thank you headlight experrsssThank you headlight experrsssThank you headlight experrsssThank you headlight experrssss.
Answer: I believe it is a scam. The sales department says there is no one there to take a call and customer service, you can only get a hold of them by email. And then no one ever returns the email
Answer: It is impossible to get a hold of customer service by phone. Email is the only way and they will not return emails.
