They use a cheap delivery service called Lasership who didn't even deliver the basket. Customer service at Hazelton's would not refund or resend or take responsibility for the awful shipping company they used. I submitted requests through the shipping company and Hazelton's and both blamed each other and told me to contact each other for assistance. They even blame porch pirates in their response. Very unhelpful and a waste of $100.
Everything in the box was expired or going to expire within a few days, minus a few exceptions. The Almond Roca was melted and stale. The red velvet cookies showed them dusted with powdered sugar and pretty, they were plain and broken and tasted like sawdust. And they were to expire in a week.
We had to hunt down a family member to see who sent the box, as it said it was to, and from the recipient. "say what?". One thing was correct in the custom basket, the sparkling wine. Obviously this is not a company run by legit business people. They are acting like they are, with the glorious photos, Reality bites! If you look at the website closely you will see bad grammar. A big clue!
Like many others, I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. I ordered champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries and cannot believe I paid $120 for a gift basket to arrive in this condition. The product quality was terrible and completely damaged. The customer service as shady - you can only speak to them via email where they were 0 help at all. If you want to order a gift basket, I would recommend any other company.
Don't expect anything to be delivered, it won't be, but they'll tell you it was and give you the run around. Don't expect proper communication from them either, you have to do all the chasing. Charge back filed.
Complete scam. Ordered the gourmet chocolate strawberries with champagne and champagne glasses and I upgraded with gourmet cheese. Gift delivered was late, and they got dollar store cupcakes, a bottle of rose, no flutes, expired chocolates left over from Christmas! Don't use them!
Absolute worst gift basket ever received. Not a single item that was selected during customization was received, nor was it in the style basket selected. The SUBSTITUTED items were sub par. When you select shower gel, you should not have to "settle" for bubble bath that you have NO USE FOR. The cheeses selected were selected for a reason (working around food allergies), and you should never "have to accept" Brie cheese as a substitute that was not refrigerated correctly as it was received soupy. Not one item was correct in the order. Not one item was acceptable or to a decent standard (literally seemed like product from the dollar store…only they cost A LOT more). When the company was contacted they basically said too bad. You got what you got and there are no exchanges or refunds. Let me reiterate, this was a company that claims they will customize a basket for you, only you get whatever cheap, unwanted product they substitute, and then tell you that you are stuck. This should never be acceptable. This is atrocious customer service. It would be best to order baskets from a company that cares about ethics and customer satisfaction/service. Absolutely disappointed with the cheap products, the false advertising about it being a customized basket company, and the absolutely horrible way this company dealt with delivery of an expensive customized basket filled with NOTHING that was actually ordered!
My family ordered a 50th birthday gift basket to arrive on the day of my birthday. I was away the week before and arrived home Saturday night, five days before my birthday. It was a 90-degree heatwave. There was a box out front of my house with wine, champagne, flowers, meat, and cheese, it had been there for several days in the heat. The food was ruined, flowers were slimy and I suspect wine and champagne ruined. The note said to me from me, my name and address were the sender and the recipient. I had no idea who it was from. I subsequently discovered my family in Ireland had sent the basket for my 50th. The company was contacted several times to tell them that the contents were ruined, that they delivered before the date requested, they did not contact me per the order. They offered my family a 50% refund, refused to replace or refund. Truly disgraceful company
I ordered a housewarming gift (a fruit basket) for my daughter and was skeptical because there were some definite red flags during the ordering process. They asked me for a delivery date so thinking it was like a flower shop, I picked that same day. Then as I got to the end of the process I found out that it was going to be shipped. It said deliveries in the U.S. were free so I assumed they must be a global company and had shops everywhere. This was a bad assumption. My fruit basket was not shipped until 3 days later from the East coast (my daughter lives on the West coast). It was in transit for a week. Nothing was what I ordered, and I do mean NOTHING. Everything had been substituted and by the time it got there, most of it was damaged and rotten. I had paid extra for chocolate covered fruit and that was not included (although it would have been inedible by the time it got there anyway). The substitutes made no sense. Instead of Asian apples the substitutes were lemons and limes. Instead of a pineapple, it was a little bowl of rotten grapes. Instead of crackers to go with the cheese, cookies. Even the basket with the removable lining was substituted with a completely different basket and no lining. There was supposed to be a little cute wooden bucket that was completely omitted. When I tried calling the company, I got an automated response telling me to leave my order # and they would get back to me with an email. They never did. When I sent an email with pictures and an explanation of the problem, I got a short response telling me I wasn't entitled to a refund and that I should have read their FAQs explaining they are not responsible for the condition of the produce when it arrives. I have attached photos. One is what I was expecting and the rest is what I got. Do you think I am due a refund?
