We monitor reviews for authenticity
The order was received with a confirmation email that it would arrive on the day selected, then customer service said it would be one day late and then it actually arrived two days late. As a care package, the delivery timeline is imperative. Customer service offered no solutions. This website won't even allow a rating than a 4 to be posted, I tried to post at a 1 and 2 and it won't post.
WE were gifted an orchid for our 42nd anniversary on June 18th. The flowers were either fallen off or wilted and falling. We sent them a letter (email) with photos taken 2 days later. We have had multiple replies from them, all saying that the flowers are VIBRANT AND INTACT. I have differing opinions so far from the orchid societies of Ottawa, Southern Ontario, Massachusetts and Orlando. Their customer interaction is zero and their replies were always self serving. I would never, ever use this company. We cannot show proof of purchase since this orchid was gifted to us by our family.
Please AVOID THEM if you want to save your money! They are the WORST I have ever met! Don't care about customer service, packing carefully their hampers and therefore they arrive destroyed. And guess what?! They will not return your money or deliver what was broken because they ask for thousands of photos and proofs.
Despite reading countless negative reviews, I decided to give Hazeltons the benefit of the doubt and placed an order on Tuesday for delivery on Sunday. Unfortunately, as of 6:30 PM on Sunday, my order still hasn't arrived. I've been home all day, waiting patiently, but it's nowhere to be seen. How does this make any sense, Hazeltons? If you're struggling to fulfill orders on time, perhaps it's time to hire more delivery drivers or improve your logistics.
Frustrated, I called your customer service team to cancel the order, only to be told it couldn't be canceled because it was "in transit." Really? After all this waiting, that's the response I get? This experience has been beyond disappointing.
To anyone considering ordering from Hazeltons, I strongly urge you to reconsider. Save yourself the hassle, frustration, and wasted time. This company clearly doesn't value its customers or understand how to run a reliable service. Avoid them at all costs.
I received a cake from my children for Father's Day 2024. When I received the package, I did not know what the contents were of the inside box. I received it on Friday, Jun 14th. I opened the outer box on Friday, but I waited to open the box inside the box until Father's Day June 16th, 2024 as the card attached to the inside box said Happy Father's Day.
There was nothing on the shipping box, the inside box, or the card attached to the inside box, that you have to report any damage to them within 24 hours of receiving it. I was the recipient of the cake, which when I received it, I did not know it was a cake, so I did not know that I had to check the contents for damage.
The company will not stand behind their product. I certainly would not recommend Hazelton's to anyone. A card on the package saying to check for and report any damage within 24 hours of receipt would have resolved this issue, now they will not stand behind their damaged product. Very poor support on their part in my opinion.
Appalling! Con artists. They had the nerve to send out a gift that was
Actually cheaper than the one I'd selected. When challenged they
Said that in the fine print it specifies they are allowed to substitute
Surely if they substitute they should refund the customer for the price
Difference (nearly $20) they said they would only give credit on future
Orders. They have the audacity to think! Would ever use such a lying unethical company again. I hope people see my review and steer clear of this dodgy outfit.
I sent my grandma a gift basket of fruits, balloons and a card. She received old spotty fruits, without the balloon, without the card I ordered with our heartfelt message. To make things worse, their customer service DOES NOT CARE about customers. They just want to make money.
They advertise "MONEY BACK GUARANTEE" but this is a compete lie!
There is a reason this business does not have google reviews. Their baskets either do not arrive at all or arrive with missing items in a bedraggled condition weeks late. They do not accept complaints or refunds, and are not BBB accredited. Buying a basket = equivalent to flushing your money down a toilet.
Don't waste your money with these guys, and judging from all the other complaints I'm reading, I'm not the only one who had a terrible experience with Hazelton's. I ordered a gift basket with several upgrades to shipped to my grandchildren for Christmas. I got written confirmation that it would be delivered by December 23rd. The gift didn't show up until January 4th, twelve days after it was supposed to arrive. The box was battered and some of the contents broken. When I found out what happened, I contacted customer service, sent pictures, and asked them to replace the damaged goods. They refused. In fact, they are unwilling to do anything at all to remedy the situation. Nothing. Not only am I disappointed and angry, I'm also stunned ---- stunned that a small business competing for customers in the highly competitive online marketplace wouldn't do everything in their power to retain a paying customer.
I can't begin to calculate how much repeat business they walked away from because of how they dealt with this situation. I do all of my gift buying online to the tune of several thousands of dollars a year however, I will never spend another nickel with Hazelton's. This was the worst customer experience I've ever had.
I ordered a bouquet of flowers- fragrant freesia and a bottle of French Veuve Clicquot Rose.
A bouquet of few carnations, roses and few other plants was delivered -not one freesia while the quality of the bouquet was very poor; a bottle of Bollinger instead of the rose champagne was also delivered. The company makes substitutions, does not contact the customer - and the substitutions are NOT comparable to what it is ordered. I would have not approved either of them for what I wanted delivered. I do not recommend this company, I will not purchase ever from them again. They do not deserve my business and I do not think their substitution practices are fair.I attached the pics of the flowers what I ordered and what was actually received. The company makes substitutions, does not contact the customer - and the substitutions are NOT comparable to what it is ordered. I would have not approved either of them for what I wanted delivered. I do not recommend this company, I will not purchase ever from them again. They do not deserve my business.
Ordered 2 baskets before Christmas, now January 4 and they still haven't be delivered. No CS follow up
We ordered a Canadian bro crate ($100+ and received a completely different shipment).
After several emails, we received the following which basically states that they can send whatever they want, regardless of your order from Miko at Hazleton:
" We're sorry to learn that you are not satisfied with the products delivered. We do take careful steps to ensure that all orders exceed expectations. However, as per our substitution policy stipulated in our terms and conditions, at times substitutions may be necessary to fulfill orders in a timely manner, especially in the event that an order is time-sensitive and intended for a special occasion.
Substitutions are actually quite common within the gifting and gift basket industry, as products are constantly changing on an ongoing basis after product details and photos have been published. Some items may be temporarily unavailable due to various reasons beyond our immediate control, under which circumstances we reserve the right to substitute such items with similar products of equal or greater value to ensure that orders are delivered in a timely manner without incurring further delays. Degrees of substitution may vary. In some rare instances, the entire contents of an order may be substituted.
Due to the high volume of orders being processed, we are not always able to contact customers ahead to advise them of substitutions. By placing an order you accepted our terms and conditions, and thus agreed that the order may consist of products that differ from the original product description. Furthermore, you agreed that you are not entitled to refunds or compensation under such circumstances, as per our refund policies: "NOT AS DESCRIBED & SUBSTITUTIONS - Where a package is 'not as described on our website' and/or we have substituted item(s) in a gift/gift basket that are in compliance with our 'substitution "
We had ordered a gift basket for Christmas and instead of the jelly bean dispenser, they sent a $#*!ty popcorn bowl… and when we asked for a refund they refused. They have horrible customer service and we are now disputing the charges with our credit card company.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I ordered this cake as a Christmas Gift. The picture following is how it arrived. I would think if you have delivery of a cake on your gift page there would be a way to send it
Other that just putting the cake in a box and expecting it to arrive whole. This is an absolute disgrace and sent without any forethought. I would like compensation for this. Also I want a proper gift sent in it's place.

Hi Cheryl,
We have received the images provided, upon thorough review of which we have decided that the condition in which the items arrived does not warrant for a full refund.
We understand that the way in which the products were jostled in transit may not have allowed for the most ideal presentation/appearance upon delivery of the order but based on the images contents of the items themselves were indeed protected by their exterior packaging, which the recipient can still use/consume if they wish to do so.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Cromwell (CSR)

THIS CAKE WAS OFFERED FOR DISPLAY AT A CHRISTMAS DINNER. A 50% REFUND WAS OFFERED. I DON'T FIND THAT ACCEPTABLE.
I paid ALOT of money and preselected all the items for my Christmas basket for my parents. When they received it - both bottles of alcohol were wrong and the meat/pate was missing. I contacted them and sent pictures. I requested that they resend the correct alcohol and the missing pate/meat. They refused advising that substitutions happen and that they are not liable for any different items. But I PAID extra to preselect the items - otherwise what's the point of allowing people to select? They sent my parents Chardonnay (which they hate) and Spiced Rum (which they hate even more). And the meat/pate missing. They offered $35.99 back after my 3 attempts to get this worked out. That amount does not even come close to the amount I paid for those two bottles that I did not select and they want me to pay for. I requested either they send my parents the correct two bottles and missing pate/meat (or refund me the value of those particular items). They denied BOTH these options. Needless to say, I am now disputing the entire basket and will NEVER order through them again. And will be sharing this horrible experience with others.
This business is a total scam. I ordered a double chocolate pecan pie, they delivered a generic pumpkin pie you can get at a supermarket for five dollars.
When I contacted customer service, they said in their terms of service when I purchased the product that I agreed to their terms of service and that they can substitute for something else. This is a scam, false advertising and fraudulent business practice.
Do not do business with this company because you will get something different than what you ordered.
I ordered a gift basket including a birthday pie for my son. The pie arrived completely smashed. When I spoke to the head of customer service I was told that it was my fault for ordering perishables and that I should have read the fine print. As " a gesture of goodwill " they offered to refund half of the price of the pie. I was appalled and embarrassed that a gift would arrive in such a condition. I wanted a replacement pie not a refund. I will never order from them or recommend them to anyone. As a matter of fact I would say steer clear of this company whose job it is to ship perishable and they don't know how to do their one job.
I ordered flowers for my mother's 92nd birthday and paid for the 1 day shipping. It is now 2 days later and still no delivery. Customer service told me to wait 1 - 2 more days. Why would I pay all that money for flowers that are 4 days old? I don't even think there really are flowers being delivered. When I contacted them by email they didn't reply and the customer service rep was rude on the online chat. Steer clear!
ZERO stars would be much more appropriate! Quality is atrocious! My daughter thought the chocolate covered strawberries were very sweet candies …not strawberries at all! Delivery times are an absolute farce. A complete and utter waste of money! What a scam!
