I bought the orange razor with the shave cream for my husband last week. He says the blades are sharp... however they pop off the handle. I tried calling *******835, but they were never open. The razor and cream cost $15.00. Lesson learned. Back to Gillette.
Was excited to buy German steel, cheaper shaving blades along with some efficient campaign. I will be short, as compared to Gillette Proglide these are not even half closer to performance due to design fault. Blade movement is only one directional as compared to two directional of Gillette. They use rubber elasticity as compared to metal used by Gillette, thus making them very stiff and will not provide closer shave and will cut your skin. They have not even provide review section on their website. Performance is not even justified at this price level. Will not buy again.
When coming from a different shaving system, it can certainly take some time to get used to. Nonetheless, we're happy that you gave us a try, Robby, yet we're sorry it didn't work out. Thank you for the helpful feedback- we'll be sure to share it with our team.
I had been a Harry's member from the very beginning. I turned my home into a Harry's home. We had several colors, for guests as well. All was well. Nice shave, esthetically pleasing product, very nice shaving cream, low-impact packaging, etc. All was well. Then they "improved" the product by adding a single very sharp blade in exactly the place where you expect it to be safe - the back edge of the blade. The part that goes up under your nose. I tried corresponding with them about this, but they said most of their customers wanted this. I can't fathom why or how, but so be it. If their new customers are more important than their old ones, I'll find another product, that's all right. It was great while it lasted.
We updated our blades based on customer feedback. Trimmer blades have long been a part of what makes a great shave, and we worked hard to make it available to our customers. That being said, we knew that it wound't please everyone, and we're so sorry about that. The good news is we own our own factory, and we're going to come out with more options soon!
Does a pretty good job of shaving, but both my wife and I have cut ourselves multiple times with the trimming blade when just shaving (not trimming). It is just poorly designed and will bite you at some point. Hopefully they can redesign them. I cant believe it got past Quality Assurance tho.
If you haven't already, please inform our CX team about this! They can get you taken care of at [email protected].
I contacted customer service concerning the poor quality of a shave with Harry's new designed blades. I tried the trial blade and two other blades delivered on a later date. All three blades cut my face and didn't get the close shave I expected. I was told by customer service to try shaving while holding the razor at a different angle. Didn't help. I have invested $40 with these blades and truly believe they are a scam. I've looked on Harry's facebook page and can't find a negative complaint posted. But, a google search of complaints on Harry's blades revealed that there are many similar complaints such as the one I mentioned. Probably, there are many more that just wrote it off as a bad experience and didn't want to waste any more of their time or money. Hopefully, Harry will recognize that there is a problem with their razor.
Hi Frank- we've sent you a private message concerning this.
I was going to give Harry's razors a second chance after buying into a set months ago and nearly running out. I figured after so many complaints, Harry would have fixed the auto-break installed into the razor head and started manufacturing sharp razors instead of the chain saws I received.
Fortunately for me, Harry decided to administer the coup de grace by pulling one of the oldest marketing ploys since P. T. Barnum started his circus...
A set of 8 was advertised for $16.00 along with a coupon for $5.00 off. At checkout the payment read $16.00 before applying the coupon. When I entered the coupon code instead of the price decreasing to $11.00 it shot up to $21.00 then down to $16.00 again. That low-down trick took the cake for me.
Bottom Line: RUN, don't walk from Harry's Razors. There's a reason why they're cheaper than Gillette. Same reason you can get Hoverboards and Galaxy 7's at firestorm prices nowadays.
Most of our coupon codes are for a free Post Shave Balm that is given when you sign up for a Free Trial, instead of $5 off. So you might have had the wrong code. Nevertheless, we're really sorry for your experience, Max. Contact our team directly at [email protected] or 888-212-6855 for any other questions or concerns.
These are the worst razors I've ever used. The blade barely stays on the handle. Drop it and the pops off. Shave and the blade pops off. Extremely annoying. I'm going back to Dollar Shave Club.
So sorry to hear this, DeLeigh. Shoot us an email at [email protected], our CX team can definitely help you out here.
Don't bother - I tried using my new Harry's razor for six weeks, but just couldn't make it work. The head has far too much flex to it and it just doesn't shave well. Back to my old Gilette...
It sounds like the flex mechanism on your razor head may have broken, Jim. Can you send us an email at [email protected]?
Great shave but very misleading its a disposable razzor which makes it misleading
Which makes it more expensive
Sorry to hear you feel mislead, Peter. The blades last 7-10 shaves on average, and at $2 per cartridge you should be saving quite a bit of money as compared to the market leader's equivalent five-blade cartridge.
By far the worst razor I've ever used! I bought this razor at Target with high hopes and was sadly very disappointed right at the start. Right out of the box the blades couldn't cut through the hair on my face. I've had Gillette razors that after a month of use have better results.
If you'd like to give us another try, please send an email to [email protected]! We can hook you up with a free 4-pack of replacement blades for you to give us another go with.
Great product and im a sucker for Marketing.
I started a subscription on harrys.com. I have very thick facial hair i have to shave everyday. I have noticed the guys complaining are the ones that have peach fuzz and are terrified of cuting themselves. I have been shaving since the 7th grade. Its awesome to have different options the other brand just got too damn expensive.
Thank you, Caliman! We're very happy to hear you are pleased.
The blades themselves appear to do a fair job but don't seem to last as long as my 50 year old double edge razor. The trimmer however is worthless at best. It needs to be double blades with a lube strip and the razor itself definitely needs a wider lube strip
Thanks so much for the feedback on the trimmer, William. We'll pass your entire message along to our R&D team. In the meantime, this article might be of some use: http://bit.ly/2eCZQ1X.
It is clear that these blades are designed to break, requiring replacement whether the blade is dull or not. The blade head will 'flop' after 10 or so shaves, making shaving extremely difficult. Normally I use a blade for 20 or so shaves, I won't be using Harry's anymore.
Thanks so much for the feedback, Pablo. Those blade hinges are definitely not designed to break, and we'd be happy to set you up with replacements. Just email us at [email protected]!
I bought mine at Target because I wanted to try it out, it was only $1 less than the usual Mach 3 that I use. I have very light facial hair and only shave 2 times a week. Both blades made it through 2 good shaves and a not so comfortable 3rd shave. After the 3rd shave it pulled my facial hair out and nicked my face. The blade leaves a patchy shave that requires you to go back and hit all the parts of the face it missed. All in all this is nothing but a high priced disposable blade with a slightly nicer handle. This blade does not and should not be compared to the likes of Mach 3 and others in this category. Save your face, save your money and pass on Harry's
We're very sorry to hear you weren't impressed with Harry's, Charlie. Switching from a three-blade system to a five-blade system can definitely take some getting used to. Hopefully we will have something more to your liking in the future!
By far the worst shave that I have ever had. The marketing and packaging are beautiful, but it doesn't make up for the poor quality blades. The blade clogs up with every pass and they are impossible to clean even with the hottest of water.
When trying to return this dangerous mess to Harry's, the customer support was not only unhelpful but down right rude. No refund was given and my Harry's shaving set went straight to the garbage.
Was your order placed online or at a Target location? If you ordered online, we can definitely get you set up with a full refund. Just send us a direct message with your email address!
As for the clogging, rinsing the blades out through the back with hot water tends to work best.
The razor doesn't work well for a technical reason. The plastic that permits the razor head to swivel is too stiff; as a result it takes too much pressure to bring the head in full contact with the skin. To solve this design flaw, one must press harder or "swivel" one's hand instead; a rather awkward and not very effective process. Since the handle can't be used with other razor heads consider the paperweight suggestion.
Response to Harry's contact.
While I'm sure your advice is well intended, it ignores the fact that the pivot (plastic) is much stiffer than your competitors, i. E. push it with your finger To expect customers to practice with your product suggests that you don't understand human nature; look at your reviews. Suggestion: Either reformulate the plastic ("softer") or make the pivot point thinner. If you make the change, let me know
The way that the blade head flexes can definitely take some getting used to. Letting the blade do most of the work on its own tends to result in the closest shave! The less pressure, the better. We hope that you'll give it a few more tries.
I have been shaving for 30+ years and have never gouged myself like I have with Harry's new blades. The superfluous precision trimmer they added frequently gashes my chin when the handle slips. This never used to happen when I used similar cartridge styles from other makers. I was a delighted Harry's customer for several years and eagerly recommended it to others. No more. I will look for a new vendor when I exhaust my current supply.
As a side note, Harry's customer service dismissed my concern saying,"... after a few more tries, you'll find that you're getting an even more comfortable shaving experience with the new blades." Basically: you don't know what you're doing. Unfortunately, they no longer make available their blades without the precision trimmer.
We would love to put you in touch with a manager on our Customer Experience team, Vincent. Can you send us a private message with your email address?
I've tried this on two different occasions, a few years apart, and the results were the same. This simply does not give anywhere near as good a shave as my Gillette or Schick razors. I am gladly paying more for a much better shave. I don't know who Harry's thinks they are fooling, but they would be wise to come out with a superior razor for $3 each which would still undercut the competition.
We're very sorry that Harry's wasn't to your liking, Harry. Though we have over 3 million happy customers, it is true that our blades do not work for everyone. We're always working on improvements and changes, so we're hopeful we will have something more to your liking at some point down the line.

The blades are a pleasant surprise. Even better is the shave foaming gel. I've put away my old shaving brush and expensive creams. You're gel is the best.
Thanks, Spencer! So happy to hear you are loving the blades and the gel.
Answer: Great question, Tony! Blade lifespan will definitely vary a bit based on your particular hair type, shave schedule, and blade care habits. While there's no exact standard for how long a cartridge will last you, we find that the average person likes to replace blades every 6-8 shaves. The idea is that our blades are durable and will last a long time, at a great price.
Answer: The new blades are not as smooth as the old ones and you cannot buy the old ones anymore.
Answer: Absolutely! There are lots of women who use our razors so we'd definitely encourage you to give them a try.
Answer: I had a problem with that when I first got them and found out that I wasn't pusing them on the handle far enough. Also if you hold too close to the blade and choke up on the handle too much your fingers tend to push the blades off. When I held back further on the handles... no worries. Since I changed those two things, I don't have that problem.
Answer: Because when they changed the design of the blade by adding the trimmer, the blade lost its smooth shaving quality, life of the blade and no burn feeling. Now it burns after the shave, blade does not last that long and all you are left with is a cheap blade. If they bring back there 1st generation blades back, I will be the first one to buy them and give back my business to Harry's for LIFE!
