They use DHL shipping which is the worst shipper in the country, I have tracked a package go 200 miles West of me to turn around and go 200 miles East. Takes 10 to 12 days most of the time to get a shipment from 450 miles away. BAD
Blades are fair, i always thought German steel was supposed to be great. My guess is they import steel from China to manufacture the blades in Germany. Shaving gel is a bust, hard to rinse from blades wasting a lot of water.
I singed up for both Harry's and Dollar Shave club. Figured my wife and I would try them both and see which we like.
I didn't quite like Harry's and my wife didn't notice a difference, so we kept them both (Her's - Harrys, His - DSC) so we wouldn't get our blades mixed up.
Over time, what we have seen is how consistenly the Harry's blades are covered in rust. They sit side by side in the same shower, and the DSC blades have never became rusty.
Can't wait for the Harry's blades to run out (we were getting way more shipped than she needed before we started seeing this problem). Don't just want to throw them all away, so going to try and dry them with a towel and store in a dry spot in between shaves to see if that helps.
Rusting is always a possibility with any piece of steel, but our blades undergo testing and receive an anti-rust coating. That doesn't mean it will never happen though, so please let our help team know at [email protected].
Waited and waited till I used up all my Gillette blades, with great thoughts of saving some serious bucks on razor blades, I went into Target with my head held high. Purchaced the Green Harry's razor, an additional 4 pack of blades and the after shave balm. Couldn't wait to try my new razor out. Now, not only do I shave my face, but because of a Thyroid issue I also shave my head. My first shave with Harry's was brutal! I felt like I was shaving with a dull Gillette and it was a brand new razor and blade. Ok, maybe it was the demo blade, benefit of doubt. Couple days later, chaged the Harry's razor blade to a new one and gave it a go - only for a few strokes. OMFG, worse than the first blade, granted my skin was still irritated may had a lot to do with it but it isn't right to torture yourself to save a few bucks. Harry's Inc., spend more money on product inprovement and less on Bull$#*! advertising. This product sucks German $#*!!
We're so sorry to hear about your poor experience, Terry. If you haven't already, let our team know about this at [email protected]. We want to make sure that every single one of our customers gets properly taken care of.
I have been a Harry's user for quite a while now and actually like their products - mostly.
Customer service has been very good.
The shaving gel bothers me a lot though as it always continues to seep out after usage. Not only wasteful but messy.
They added the under the nose blade and I really do not like it. Like many others out there I thought they needed something but I actually prefer the old blades which are harder to get under the nose but they do not make such a mess at that spot either.
Still prefer this alternative to the other competition so far.
Shipping to Canada is rather pricey.
Appreciate the feedback, Benjamin. We're definitely looking to make things easier for our customers up north, it's a huge priority for us at the moment. Thanks for your patience.
As in the title - extremely uncomfortable shave that has left my skin raw. I was duped into the trial by the cool branding.
Avoid.
Edit: Mistakenly said that the plan could not be cancelled online which it can.
If you experience any rash or skin reaction we'd like to look into that- shoot us an email at [email protected].
I was quite excited to get started with Harry's and liberated from Gillette-slavery. I noticed right away that the Harry's blades did not seem as sharp as Gillette's, with more tugging on my skin while shaving and not as close a shave. Oh well, I thought, it's worth it to save some money. But as it turns out, I get a lot more shaves from my Gillette Trac-3 blade than from a Harry's blade, so it doesn't even save me money. I'm sure this all would vary depending on one's skin, but for me, I wouldn't recommend the product.
We’ve designed our blades to feature improved flexibility to help adhere to the contours of your face. While we're so sorry you don't like them, we will be sure to pass your feedback along to our product development team so we can work to improve our products over time.
I have been shaving for 45 years and used many, many different types of razors. Harry's is the best shave I have ever had. My legs have never felt so soft. And it shaves the ankles and knees beautifully.
Wow- thanks os much for sharing, Lori!
Tried this product purely because of the insanity of paying five dollars to Gillette for a replacement blade - or buying a dozen of them at BJ's for not much of a discount. It's cheap to start; but the quality is missing. The first razor pulled (on my light beard) and left some cuts. It actually got better with further use; but still not a very close shave, and hard to maneuver in tight spaces (e.g. Around my nose). Blades begin to dull pretty darn quick, and the replacements are not as cheap. Buy a Shick Hydro throwaway pack, for a much better shave and longer-lasting blade, for not much additional cost. I am done trying to replace just the blade and not the whole razor with handle, for environmental (trash) reasons. It isn't worth the hassle.
A lot of guys tells us it just can take a few shaves to adjust to the new system, because the blades are set at a slightly different angle. Playing around with the angle you hold the razor at, as well as the amount of pressure you apply while shaving, should both work to improve the shave immensely, so we hope you'll give it a few more tries! Of course, no hard feelings if not. You've got to do what you've got to do!
Harry's Customer-Experience-Rep response to my review "Poor Construction" means that after 50 yrs of shaving I need a video to re-learn how to shave? Really?! I need to learn a new shaving angle or shave so lightly that the blade barely touches my face in order to keep the cartridge from losing its rigidity! Sounds like "alternative facts" to me!
The angle of the blades within our cartridge legitimately is just different enough from what you're used to that by changing the angle you hold the razor and applying a little less pressure can actually help you make the adjustment to a new system like ours and improve the shave considerably. Having said all that, we totally understand if you'd rather just cut ties. Either way, thank you for giving us a shot.
Its only advantage is that it's cheap. The shaver is way too light., I succeeded in cutting myself - something that has not happened with Gillette shavers in 10 years. Not even comparing to the vibrating shaver. The razor is sharp and it does shave, but the feeling when shaving is poor
We've actually heard from lots of guys who get a less-than-perfect shave the first couple times, but once they adjust to the new system they really love it. In that vein, we hope you'll give us another shot and see if you're able to find that sweet-spot so you can get the same smooth and comfortable shave that so many other guys are getting with our blades. If not, though, no hard feelings, and we appreciate that you gave us a try.
I heard about Harry's on a podcast and my dad decided to check it out with the free trial. Even though I signed up for 5 months at a time, what I missed was they send the next package after 17 days! Gmail buried their email in "updates" So they will charge you and send it to you. It's not worth it unless you remember to cancel the very next day. Their customer service was appalling to l, all I wantex to do was return the items and get my money back but she offered no solutions. To top it all off my dad said the shave wasn't even that close! Ugh really a bad experience over all
Sorry to hear about your poor experience. We can't speak to Gmail's "updates" but we do send an email two days before we ship it to remind you to cancel if you wish. We'd be happy to refund you for that shipment though, just DM us your email address.
Thought I'd try this out but found the razors (German Engineering) were basically what I could buy in Lidl for significantly less so basically paying premium for nicely packaged budget supermarket blades and shaving gel delivered to your door. Not good value for money in my opinion.
Sorry to hear that you didn't get a good shave with us, Peter. We have heard from lots of guys that it can take a few shaves to adjust to a new system, but perhaps the blades just weren't for you. Thanks for the feedback and for giving us a shot.
I got these as a gift from a friend. The razor misses all the hair in the hard to reach spots. If you apply any pressure, the blades cut you. If you pass over the area more than twice, you get razor burn and it still manages to miss the hard to reach hair. Won't be trying anymore direct to you crap. Its all hype and a rip-off.

After ordering I kept receiving recurring charges and products. The website has no functionality that I could find to stop the subscription. Yes I could add products. Yes I could replace my credit card. It's very convenient for those things, so the inability to cancel an order appears to be intentional.
Definitely not- so we're incredibly sorry that you feel that way. Head to harrys.com/profile, or email our team at [email protected] to get that taken care of.
I was so excited about these but the blade angle isn't right - just doesn't work well (and from the reviews I wish I read before I bought them everyone else feels the same). Try them on your face Harry's before you overhype them onto other peoples. Terrible product but like many I was taken in by aggressive advertising that grossly overpromises but certainly under-delivers.
Sorry to hear about your so-so experience. Really sorry to hear that you didn't like the shave. Did you use it more than once? Only asking because we've found that it can actually take a few shaves to adjust to a new system (~4-5). If you hold the razor at a different angle or change the amount of pressure you apply while shaving, we think you'll find that the shave improves and then you'll no longer need to adjust.
I purchased my first Harry's (Truman) razor in January 2016 and was very pleased. However, I just bought a new Truman razor, and it now has a cheap rubberized handle. I used it for the first time today and it's like shaving with a Bic disposable razor. I'm cancelling my membership.
Sorry to hear that. We re-designed our handles to include the rubberized grip based on feedback from our customers that they wanted an easier hold. Hopefully we'll have something better for you in the future, Joe.
Well the shave I got from the free trial was so amazing I decided to order. I feel like I was sent a awesome blade for a sample then junk or at least a much lower quality blade once I paid them. They are a cheap blade and only worth using maybe 3 times. And the second and third suck just use cause I spent money on them and want to try and get something out of them. There is no way it's the same blades that I was given as a sample. And no way I would order them again without some serious insentive and proof of quality upgrade mabey a pay after I got them that way if they are the same trash I paid for this time I could send them back postage due.
We're always looking for ways to improve, so we'll be sure to pass this along to our Product Development team. We design and manufacture our blades at our own German factory and sell them directly to you. All of our blades go through the same quality control processes and we want to assure you that nothing has changed with our blades.
When I first ordered Harry's razor I only did because of the free trial. I imeaditly canceled it so I wouldn't be charged. I really got it for my wife because she goes threw razors a lot faster than I do. I did the same with dollar shave club but didn't cancel. A razor typically lasts me 3 to 6 months. I don't need to shave often and when I do my electric clippers work fairly well. So I ended up using Harry's razor because it was rite next to me and I figured why not. It was by far the best razor I have ever useed. It was so nice and comfortable it made my new Gillette for sensitive skin feel like a old worn out blade. I am always honest in my reviews because I tend to read them as much as possible and use them to help in my decisions when buying stuff. Any way you should at least give them a try.
I was expecting Harry's to be the answer for my search for the perfect blade. However fortunately I found that the disposable two blade is better than Harry's five. The presentation and design is great but the blades may not be positioned properly for a clean shave.
To each his own. Hopefully one day we'll come out with something more your style!
Had ordered harry's on promotion. Shaved twice using the blade. Hate the foam and the blade. I end up cutting myself even when i am super careful. Never happened with a Gillette.
We're always looking for ways to innovate and improve, so we're really sorry to hear this. It often really helps to experiment with the angle at which you're holding the blade and the amount of pressure you're using (too much or too little). At the end of the day though, you've got to use the blade that fits you the best. Thanks for letting us know.
I wanted to like this. I love the shape and look of the basic orange handle. But the blades just totally suck. Something changed, back when they added a blade to the top of the razor. In addition to the blades feeling rough on my face, I keep catching my jaw and the bridge of my nose with the trimmer blade that they added to the top of the razor.
I emailed them today to see if I can switch back to the previous blades. If not, I am canceling my subscription. I'd rather pay an arm an a leg and get a decent shave, than show up to work wit nicks on my face all the time. Ridiculous.
We did re-design our blades, and we're really sorry that you haven't enjoyed them. We're hoping to have more product options down the line, so we appreciate your patience. Thanks for your feedback!
Answer: Great question, Tony! Blade lifespan will definitely vary a bit based on your particular hair type, shave schedule, and blade care habits. While there's no exact standard for how long a cartridge will last you, we find that the average person likes to replace blades every 6-8 shaves. The idea is that our blades are durable and will last a long time, at a great price.
Answer: The new blades are not as smooth as the old ones and you cannot buy the old ones anymore.
Answer: Absolutely! There are lots of women who use our razors so we'd definitely encourage you to give them a try.
Answer: I had a problem with that when I first got them and found out that I wasn't pusing them on the handle far enough. Also if you hold too close to the blade and choke up on the handle too much your fingers tend to push the blades off. When I held back further on the handles... no worries. Since I changed those two things, I don't have that problem.
Answer: Because when they changed the design of the blade by adding the trimmer, the blade lost its smooth shaving quality, life of the blade and no burn feeling. Now it burns after the shave, blade does not last that long and all you are left with is a cheap blade. If they bring back there 1st generation blades back, I will be the first one to buy them and give back my business to Harry's for LIFE!

For economy shipping, it can take about 5-10 business days. Nevertheless, we take these kind of situations very seriously and share them with our distribution team.
Blade lifespan will definitely vary a bit based on your particular hair type, shave schedule, and blade care habits. While there’s no hard-and-fast standard for how long a cartridge will last you, we find that the average person likes to replace blades every 6-8 shaves.
Due to their fine steel and precision grinding, our blades are incredibly durable. Just remember to give them a good rinse, dry them off, and store them away from too much moisture - they will treat you well! And a quick note on plastic covers: definitely make sure the blades are dry before you cover them. We know covers give great protection when traveling, but suffocating the blades, even if they’re only a bit wet, can cause rust!
The idea is that our blades are durable and will last a long time, but also hopefully priced affordably enough that you won't feel bad about replacing them.
