I order from overseas, and the website was extremely difficult to navigate, so I had to make the first of what was about to be 20 calls. I ordered Dec 8, and didn't see the delivery date was Dec 17... but I was still ok.We ordered the second most expensive basket. On dec 16 I got an email saying it was no longer available, and I had to choose another basket. I was given a number to call and they didn't answer until 1.5 hrs after. I finally got through and make a long story short had to go up by $35 to top basket. When it showed up (after hrs of trying to get this done and 1 week)... it showed up and the presentation, due to shipping was less than impressive. Bad customer service infrastructure and less than satisfactory experience. I'm going to order local next time.
Ordered a Christmas basket on 11/30/2020. It was documented as delivered but it was never received. Called H & D. On hold for a long time. Was told they would reship. Never had evidence that it reshipped and it was never received. I had paid for the basket and $29.99 for passport. They will refund the basket (we shall see) but not the passport fee. Will never order from them again. Horrible customer service. Major process problems.
I received a Xmas gift today and opened it immediately, what a disappointment, the Pears look like they came from the reduced price rack at my local grocer or worse. I called them and the wait was one and a half hours, I instead E-mailed them with photos, after several hours, no response. How do you respond in a positive way to the gift sender?
Hit and miss with Hard &David
My first order shipped as it should
2nd order is in limbo and no one will give me a date it will ship
3rd order due to ship next week got my fingers crossed.
There are better options out there.
OK UPDATE: After writing this review they offered to replace the pears and ship another batch. We will see what we get. Ordered a big box of pears from Harry and David and showed up frozen. When i ask H&D what happened they answer i get is "must be cold weather". You would think if you ship fruit to Wisconsin in December you would pack it correctly to protect for that. Support's answer is "too bad". All i can say is WOW. 12 Pears for over $50.00. Save your money and don't buy from them.
Please don't ever order from this company. A 2 hour wait time to speak to a representative on the phone is unacceptable. I tried to speak to someone for three days and have not been successful. Run away as fast as you can. On the star rating I don't see a negative star but that's what they deserve.
The Harry&David website made disappear the lower priced items I had selected. I continued with the more expensive items as they offered a free shipment deal at $29.99 for a year. Today, 12/14/20, at checkout, all delivery dates available for free shipment were promptly replaced, bringing my bill from $244.08 to over $400.00. Please avoid their scams!
I have ordered from H&D for years. I placed an order today even though they did not include offer codes with my catalougues as in the past. When I ordered several items a message came up that I would get free shipping by ordering $20. I went back and increased my order by that much. The site jumped forward and accepted and placed my order which included a substantial shipping cost. Their site does not allow cancelling or editing this entry. I called. 15 minutes on hold. I requested a call back. It never came. I Emailed them about this. No response. Now I find I could have ordered thru Amazon Prime with free shipping. Think I am done with them.
We ordered from H&D a number of times in the past. We used to advise our friends that the gifts come from orchards etc. in southern Oregon (we have a second home in Portland). In the past, the gifts came quickly and the fruits were fresh. No longer. The last two times, for whatever reasons, they were shipped from Ohio! And took forever to get to our friends. I am going to look to go elsewhere.
Received, as a gift, a box of brown, bruised pears yesterday. I'm embarrassed to tell the gifted how bad the fruit is.
I ordered three shipments on December 5. Two have been delivered. One was confirmed but nothing has happened in a week. I wrote an email inquiring what was holding them up. No Answer. I phoned the customer service number listed. I said they could put me in the cue and call me back. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. I called again and held and had to answer 16 times that "yes" I wanted hold and "yes I wanted to select #1" and then after waiting at least a half and hour someone called and I immediately answered and they HUNG UP! TERRIBLE WEB SITE> DON"T ORDER from HARRY AND DAVID
The pears and apples were spoiled when they arrived. Customer service is lousy--four times I have sent pictures of the label (order number, etc.) and spoiled fruit and keep get a request to send the order number. Look elsewhere if you want to send a reliable gift. The takeovers have ruined what was a good company years ago.
Wanted to order 50 baskets for friends and clients. Had to submit my order--they said I could submit as a Word attachment--4 times before they found it, and they found it only because I had pasted it in the text of the email. Many errors on the order and they cannot deliver until Dec 22--I submitted the order on Dec 9. Been on hold for 27 minutes to try to fix this. The first time when they did not call me back as promised when I "pressed 1" for a call back should have clued me in not to try to move forward with them. I will go back to Gourmet Baskets.
I ordered jam for my neighbor. When it arrived, 1 jar was broken. I called and customer service said they would replace the broken jar. My neighbor is 93 and shouldn't have to be cleaning up a broken mess. Glass slivers and messy jam over the other jars is not a gift, it's a headache. And at that age, agility is a factor and getting cut or slivered is a real risk. They should just have said, "we're sorry, and of course we will replace the whole gift"
This customer service is the worst I have ever come across. I love their pears but other companies have similar enough fruit and gifts, use them. This way if you need to contact their customer service you won't cringe knowing you are about to waste an hour of your life... and no matter what don't take the call back option, that is a black hole. Hopefully, if you wait long enough, you won't be hung up on or your able find someone who actually knows what they are doing. Just don't order their stuff anymore and save yourself the aggravation.
I paid extra for a delivery to occur by a date certain. The delivery did not occur. I contacted Harry and David to find out why the package was not delivered on time and when it would be delivered. The customer service representative told me it would be delivered the next day. As a courtesy she said she would refund my money. I told her I did not want the delivery cancelled. I was told it would still be delivered. Today, I called to find out that the delivery was cancelled. I know must scramble to find another present for a presentation that is to take place today. Do not count on Harry and David.
Grade A Fancy, US #1what did I pay $7 or $8 each.
Wind damage, misshapened, some soft, scars, is not my problem.
I ordered perfect pears for my important clients.
I saw no disclaimer before ordering.
I will not be paying for the pears.
I ordered the Christmas Cactus for my mother, for her to enjoy for the holidays. When it arrived, the dirt was misplaced and it had severe freeze damage. When I contacted customer service their response was to offer me a 20% coupon for my 'next purchase'! There will be NO -next purchase! Very disappointed in this company!
Dear 1800Flowers,
You have ruined the once great Harry and David. Dealing with Harry and David has become a terrible experience. The years since the 1800flowers take over of the once GREAT customer service of Harry and David, has declined into the current state and it's terrible.
Not only did they fail to deliver 4 important client gifts for the Thanksgiving holiday, they are now telling me that the 20% "make amends" apology coupons are worthless. The reps email to me about why I couldn't use them was this, "no sale items or the site wouldn't allow coupons". The items were not on sale. And when they say the website doesn't allow to apply coupon discount, why would they send me coupons I can't use? It was the Harry and David website. Why would YOUR coupon sent to offer amends for the previously terrible service, for YOUR site for a REGULAR priced item, not allow a coupon that clearly stated could be used online? It's the perfect explanation of just how bad service is at this company.
Our recent experiences from the Passport shipping not calculating correctly when we placed our order, the need to spend wasted time calling back to get the correct credit, spent wasted time in a call center in the Philippines on a terrible connection with someone that has no authority to do anything, to be dropped backed into the que, to be hung up on, the failure to deliver important gifts, only bothering to call to say there was a problem with 2 of them, we had no idea that 2 others weren't delivered on time, sending coupons that can't be used and now they are telling us, "your satisfaction is very important to us"! No it isn't. It would be laughable if it wasn't all so sad.
This has become one of the worst online customer service companies I have ever experienced and I've been shopping online for decades! Not only is H&D off our list for any future gifts, ALL 1800flowers companies are too since they provide a terrible user experience across that spectrum of their businesses.
It is time to say goodbye to a once GREAT company, R. I. P. Harry and David.
On 11/30 I ordered 4 bags of truffles. Two bags of dark chocolate and two bags of peanut butter. When I received the confirmation the order was incorrect there were no peanut butter just 4 bags of dark chocolate. I called customer service back that same night it took the customer service rep 25 minutes to make the substitution. When I received the confirmation the order still wasn't correct. I have called back 4 times since then. My order arrived 12/9 with 2 bags of dark chocolate and only one bag of peanut butter. I called to get one more bag instead the confirmation showed 5 more bags ordered. I called back to cancel those bags and simply request one bag. I have no idea what I will receive. The customer service with this company is horrendous. I have placed 6 calls and I'm still not convinced my order is correct I asked to talk with a supervisor but that request was ignored.
Answer: I'll be going to other companies NOW. Business LOST.
Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.
Answer: I wasn't able to order products because of the quality of their customer service representatives.
Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
