My order was placed December 9th. Today is December 20th and the order has not been shipped yet! Customer service "chat" can give no information other than it will arrive by the 23rd. When I inquired about expedited shipping the agent disconnected the conversation. This happened 3 times with 3 different people. Attempted a phone call and could not get a live person to speak to. Will never purchase from them again.
UPDATE: My item arrived on December 28th. Contacted H&D again via chat regarding late delivery. They offered to send another order to my party at no charge. Delivery date by Jan 12th. We shall see.
I am a physician and every year I send holiday baskets to thank my referring physicians for their support. This year choose H&D, What a mistake
Spent over 2200.00 and found out afterwards that they spelled my name "GYM" not Jim
In addition they titled some of the gifts incorrectly.
When called they claimed that they were sending an apology letter but too little to late and I never received a copy of the letter they said they were sending
Would not recommend using them for anything, now I got to call all the receiver's of the gifts to explain what happened and I have a lot of other things I can be doing with my time in my practice
A real let down do not make the mistake that I made, stay away
The gift baskets look nice, but they arrive without a "from card". The sender is only known by a tiny little sticker that's stuck on the outside of the outer box they send it in. You can hardly notice it and it seems limited to only a few words allowed. You would never know this tiny font label even exists. It practically makes the sender unknown and very impersonal. You would think this big gift company would devise a way to include a small message card from the sender. They certainly include their own sales propaganda cards within the gift. It's really embarrassing for the sender.
Terrible service. Ordered on line, did not receive a receipt, called and on phone 45 minutes and they could not find my order. My CC was charged but they could not find me. Not sure if my order will be delivered or not now. WILL UPDATE.
Got an expensive fruit basket from family member. The pears are sweet but I can get sweet pears at the grocery store. The oranges are not sweet- actually they are a little sour. This is such a waste of money. I can get sour oranges at the grocery store.
Every Christmas, we always used to look forward to the Christmas Tower of Treats that my mother used to send us. When she passed away in 2010, I continued the tradition of sending them to my siblings. So this year, I sent my two brothers an item that appeared on their website under the promo "Buy 1 get 1 50% off. I spent over $ 100 and paid their ridiculously expensive shipping fee of $44 just to keep the family tradition alive.
Imagine my surprise when I check my credit card statement and saw that I was charged FULL PRICE for both items!
I called Harryand David customer service, which in the past has been very helpful, only to get a representative who was very sorry but could do nothing to help me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she told me that "they" were very busy with other customers. What a surprise to hear that. I'm sure they are very busy with other customers, like me, who feel that they have been ripped off by fraudulent advertising and bait and switch promotional offers. I will be reporting this to my bank as well as the PA Dept of Consumer Protection.
I will never again order anything from this disreputable company!
They obviously don't care about the customers. For all the one star reviews they receive they've made no changes on their products, customer service and egregious business practices. Why they haven't been shut down or gone bankrupt is beyond me. Avoid at all costs.
I ordered their peach and raspberry pie in November 2022, along with their Holiday Trio, for just over $100 with tax&sh. The pie arrived thawed, and the peaches within were a peachy shade of brown. The thing tasted half-cooked. Most of it went into the trash. The Trio had decent baklava, but the pineapple macadamia cake and cinnamon swirl were dense, rather flavorless, and had the consistency of playdough. 3/4 of both went into the trash. This is assembly line food advertised as gourmet. Save your money and disappointment and avoid ordering anything from them. Just read through the reviews online...
I purchased three orders totaling over $1,000. Each order was a disaster. They misspelled every order. They were impatient and rude. When I called to get information corrected they still made mistakes. They didn't tell us about promotions. When I called when promotion weren't applied they couldn't help me.
Original order item on November 16,2022 was in stock. After not hearing any notice of delivery progress, checked December 13,2022 and was told by "customer service" it would be delivered by December 16,2022 as I originally requested. Yesterday, December 16,2022, I contact them again via email. It finally turns out the the item originally ordered on November 16 - which was in stock on their web site then - was actually no longer in stock! I never got a notice from these liars and crooks that the item I ordered wasn't in stock. Had to scramble to find an alternative so the people I ordered it for as a Christmas gift can arrive by then. They "promised" me it will be delivered by the end of the day December 23. Even odds betting tells me it won't be delivered by then. I have been a long time customer of Harry & David, but after this mess, where "customer service" lied to me about the original delivery date, nobody notifying me that the item I ordered was out of stock, etc., once this delivery actually happens - hopefully before Easter - I will be closing my account with Harry & David and taking my business elsewhere. This used to be a very good company. Now...a bunch of liars and crooks! Do NOT do business with them! My orders were W*******2494 and #: W*******1030
Ordered a $160 Christmas gift basket on Dec-7 for delivery to family. Price included confirmed delivery shipping. Item was not sent during the confirmed delivery time period. Called H & D customer service center which must have been in India as "Babu" spoke unintelligible English. We did learn the gift basket ordered was out of stock until further notice. No email notice sent by company to update out of stock status or shipping delay. We cancelled the order and went with a different company. We will NEVER buy from this store again. This was our first...and last experience dealing with Harry & David. BUYER BEWARE.
My daughter sent a basket that cost her over $230. It contains a number of food items and 7 pears. It's the pears that I am shocked about. They look like rejects no one would buy. Small, blemished, dark marks, just a joke.
I have been giving Harry and David gifts for a few years actually never received one I just assumed they were good. I just reviewed a Harry and David Deluxe Breafast Tin as a Christmas Gift. Horrible Gift Bottom line the food was tasteless. I feel terrible for sending them to friends.
No one is home at Harry and David. I have emails after email that recites the same rote script, despite that I am making real complaints that need to be addressed! It is shameful and heads should roll. Stay away from this formerly respectable company.
No discounted shipping after spending almost 2000.00. Terrible customer service offered me $25.00!
This is my first time seeing Harry & David. One of my Venders stopped by with the $49.00 dollar stacked boxes. I went through all the boxes with the different treats in them. Not one of the box was empty or have full. I am eating the Premium Mixed Nuts and I'm shocked with how much is in this little pack. Like I said, I never heard of you guys but I will be ordering from you in the future to come. Everything is so good!

I have used Harry and David for Christmas fruits for many years with excellent recipient satisfaction. For the past several years, however, the quality of the pears has steadily declined. Last year about a third of my gifts arrived rotten. This year the pears are small, irregularly shaped with many brown spots. Next year I will try someone else.
We recently lost a loved one so my daughter's employer sent a sympathy basket. The food was horrific -- I mean all of it. Candy; crackers; sausages; sesame sticks; cheese, salsa, baklava. I've tasted better items purchased at a 99 Cent store. Truly appreciated the gesture, but I'd never send any of your baskets to anyone I know based solely on this disaster.
I received a box of Six Royal Riviera pears. My sister in law sent them to us, she is 82 years old and the old man is 97. This is just unacceptable for a company that seems to have a good reputation. My sister in law spent over $50 for these. I would not have picked
those pears at a local supermarket. I'll have to feed them to the iguanas,,,,,lol
H & D have contracted out customer service to people in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, they cannot understand English. They refuse to transfer me to a supervisor and play a game of putting me on hold, pretending to try to find a supervisor, coming back after a minute or so and saying no one is available.
This used to be a Five Star company. I'm not sure what happened. You can't even reach corporate.
I think 2 stars are generous. I will not even try to order from H&D ever again.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
