The descriptions and drawings of the part made the selection easy to confirm that the part would be the correct one.
I didn't know that the "Type 2" hearth pad is not meant to be installed over carpet. The instructions say to remove our (freshly installed) carpet and pad, and install the hearth pad and our old parlor stove on the bare floor. But we don't want to do that, because want to be able to remove the parlor stove in the summer if we want. I hope we can lay down a piece of plywood the size of the hearth pad, and install the hearth pad on that, and then the parlor stove on top of it.

Ames mini action hoe, about $13 incl shipping, 16" long, is the best tool I have ever found, by far, for weeding and cutting through dirt to make channels for water. It is so well-made that this time I got three, fearing it might go out of production. Afraid I might lose the one I have, not afraid it would break.
