The customer service is non-existent and insulting. They will close claims on their own initiative and refuse to talk to the customer. It is 100% a sellers world with zero buyer protection. I had a seller try to change the deal and claim I had to pay almost double what the auction amount was for due to his unmentioned "transaction and handling" fees. When I objected he filed a non-paying bidder claim and my account was frozen. I revieced a one sentence response saying the buyer filed a claim that resulted in my account being closed whenever I tried to explain what was going on.
Some of the reviews state I must be some kind of anti-gunner because I gave Gunbroker a negative review. These people would be in awe if they caught a glimpse of the weapons in my gun safe. Thirty guns, including 15 NFA items (SBRs and suppressors), some of them were bought on Gunbroker. I performed as much due diligence on the purchase I was screwed on as any of the others. Gunbroker allowed one of their sellers to steal from me. Gunbroker allows those thieves to sell on their website today.

I would have never guessed people wouldn't love gunbroker.com. I have purchased 20 guns there and saved a ton compared to local stores. One gun was $75 less than Walmart, new in the box. I suppose maybe it's better if people are afraid of this site. More bargains for me!
I buy only antique guns; and I've bought more than I've sold on here. The only real complaint I have is that GB has no teeth compared to ebay when it comes to buyer/seller problems. About the only recourse they seem to have is to censure an unscrupulous seller.
I wish they had something like a buyer protection plan, because this site can have a LOT of seemingly deceitful sellers. You had better KNOW what you are looking for or at, and ask a LOT of questions before bidding. Especially ask for an inspection period. That is a must when buying guns on the internet. Even then, you may find out you got snookered by a fraudulent or ignorant seller. But on the positive side, 99% of the time a seller would try to make it right with me if I caught him on some unadvertised defect. I guess because they don't want their junk back!
Never the less, I get REAL tired of having to sift through the BS when trying to buy something on here.
If GB made it tough on BS artists, maybe the deceptive listings would diminish.
But then so might all the listings and there goes their commissions.
Still, there's nothing else that I know of that compares to GB for the variety of things for sale.So the old slogan is still as true as ever- Caveat Emptor!
I have no problems at all with Gunbroker over fifty transactions. Private sellers are sometimes slower to ship than a regular gun shop would be its about the same as ebay
I've been selling and buying guns from Gunbroker for about 6 years now and in terms of the transaction, they are usually very straight forward. The problem is not with the transactions between the buyer and the seller. The problem is with the security or lack of security with your credit card information at Gunbroker.
On 2 occasions after I've provided Gunbroker with my credit card info, the info has been hacked and charges made as high as $900 for an air conditioning systems in California. I don't live in California. They had not only the credit card number but the security code as well.
The Gunbroker people are nice enough people but are in over their heads in terms of technology much less security. If you're going to do business with them, you should use one of these cards that you can put only a small amount of money in it to pay for whatever fees they need to charge.
Watch Out!
I started out looking at merchandise on this site. Saw some deals I might be interested in, and thought I should get registered.
Here begins the process. You fill out some info, agree to pay applicable fees, (you assume if and when you buy something). Then, you are informed that you need to enter credit card and gunbroker.com will charge the card $1 for verification of your email address.
So here I stop and conclude this is not legit, but prior to this, I've agreed to all applicable fees. I don't want to do business with this company. A month later I get an email with a bill for $1. I ask for the account to be closed but they will not close it until the $1 is paid.
AND GET THIS... THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT $1 TO ANYONE VIAL MAIL. THEY DEMAND YOUR CREDIT CARD #.
I'm not sure how far these nuts will go to collect the $1 or how much the intend to increase the "Balance' if I don't give them my card to run.
Just beware... I'll forward this on to my State AG office if they persist, but save yourself the grief... STAY AWAY
After several attempts to make a listing and joining the site I was unable to complete a listing for sale. Feedback was rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. Next month I received a bill for verification $2.00 Same responses after request for cancel. I feel this business will give gun owners and sport/hobby a bad name. Highly not recommended!
Five years and only 1 bad transaction. Compared to ebay this site is heaven. Every minor problem involves a refund on ebay and tutorials if you use a trademark name. And listing fees car auctions run about 60.00 a week. Gunbroker is not perfect but if you use common sense and communicate their are no problems. People just like to hear themselves whine.
3% is fee after selling on Gunbroker NO LISTING FEES! NO HOLDS ON PAYPAL! NO RESTRICTIONS ON ITEMS NATIONALITY THAT you sell.
I had nothing to say to this Web Gun business. If you want to loose money or be part of the scam, transact your business here.
I will never patronize this gun site again.
BEWARE! Number 1 Scam for Gun selling and buying!
Great place to buy (or sell) various guns and shooting accessories. Website is easy to use and I will be continuing to visit this website 3-4 times a month just to make sure I don't miss out on any good deals.
GUNBROKERCOM LLC 1690 ROBERTS BLVD NW, STE 108 KENNESAW, GA *******-7829
This is for those that want to complain in person. You might want to be nicer now.
I am providing this address since they will not give it out willingly so they can hide from real humans. GunBroker is a company of cowards that hide behind an email address after they threaten their clients with collection agencies only to extort money they dont deserve.
gunbroker.com has very poor customer service. Do NOT do business on this site. I tried to cancel my acct and they are still billing me 3 years later.
This sight sucks bad review don't do anything non pay and they cancel your account. Then you can't leave bad feedback for the scammer. Will never buy from here ever again beware. Ripped off twice
Sold a gun on here recently, I had no issues using it. I haven't bought anything though.
Stay away... even their telephone number *******164 is a scam. Dial it for yourselves. This website invites criminals to come in and sell items that don't really exist. At least GunBroker.com should validate their names on Bing or Google to determine their legibility. Ammo from deuce******* is Jason Skeens from Pikeville, KY... bing and google it... watch what pops up!
I haven't had a chance to use this site. I contacted about ten of the listed alleged FFL holders closest to me, and only received a response from one. I merely inquired about their transfer and consignment service.
The one that I received a response from stated that they were having trouble with their phone, and that is why they were not following up with me. Seriously. I think that they are operating out of a house.
I don't mind if somebody doesn't want to do business with me, but if they are listed as open for business, the least they can do is respond with an articulate message.
I know for certain that another one of the FFL dealers whom I contacted has a brick and mortar store, and so he is not working out of his home. Still, I did not obtain a response from him.
Gunbroker needs to vet the people listed as possessing FFLs, and seeking to do business. It makes the entire site appear untrustworthy when these people respond strangely or not at all. Guns and untrustworthy people, do not go together.
They rejected my regitration information, yet there is absolutely no way to reach them. I think they are a scam, and highly reccomend you don't use this site. Just read the reviews, then decide if they are a good company to do business with.
I attempted to bid on a Star Model 28 9mm pistol. Their sign-up registry said that it would cost a dollar to "verify" any NON-SECURE e-mail address. Well, I used my State of Delaware issued job e-mail. They sent back an e-mail saying we want $3 to "verify" your e-mail. I responded that it was a government issued e-mail, as "secured" as it gets. They responded with a snotty e-mail saying they didn't care, the $3 was for registry. What happened to the claimed "free" registry? And if you're charging $3 for registering, what's with the "secure" versus "unsecure" email crap in the first place? Just say "We want your money" and be done with it. I would have been willing to paid a registration fee. I WON"T pay a scam. Some of the other reviews here mentioned falsified bidding. I have watched several items that suddenly run up in price. I watched one Colt Lawman Mk. III being sold by a vendor in Fla. Go back up AT LEAST 3 times... This site seems to be the worst combination of greedy, dishonest, and stupid!
First they charged me $1 for email registration. Next time I tried to log in it said. Needed to pay $2 to verify my acount info... when I hit the next button It started to ask me credit bureau questions that couldnt have been known unless my ss# was pulled, which I never gave. I didnt answer and backed out quick as hell. 7 days later I am a victim of credit card and ID theft. Wife is pissed because we were trying to buy a house and now my credit and social are flagged.
Answer: Asking the wrong guy, will never return to that site, quite pleased with Auction Arms
Answer: One can hope the FEDS would shut them down you and every one else that uses them is in serious peril from the web site owners. They are the most unethical people you will find, In for the quick buck and non existant customer service. PLEASE try other sites to conduct your legitamite business on GB stinks.
Answer: I would absolutely look locally, ask a policeman where they would recommend you shop or google gun dealers in your area and then check the reviews. Under "no" circumstance would I suggest you do anything with GunBroker except delete, block and ignore. Run form them. Integrity does not exist here. My guns were withdrawn within a week or so of listing and now almost a year later they are still trying to access funds from my credit card. These people are not to be trusted with your personal financial information. Unless of course you enjoy drama, problems and working with people of questionable ethics.
Answer: I paid my seller within hours but he did not like the closing bid so he added a to high shipping. He relisted and sold for more $ and GB branded me a non payer.
Answer: Part of their scam
Answer: How many ways can you spell scam
