I ordered a STOCK HSC for an LP style guitar 10 days ago and it still hasn't shipped. GF tells me via Email to be patient as they are busy!?!? I can understand 2-3 days but, based on what they are telling me it could be another week plus before they ship! Horrible experience foe a first time order!

I ordered 8 guitar pickups from Guitar Fetish to install into guitars, each costing around $30, and then I had to pay for shipping on top of it, making the order $271.60 total. Installing these pickups took a lot of time, as I've never done it before, and was part of ongoing projects. One of these guitars I had bought for this project didn't work so I had to return it (to a different seller), and no longer needed the pickups. I submitted a return request for them to Guitar Fetish. I was told that the return period was only 7 days (which was nowhere even near long enough for this kind of thing, as even if I had taken it in to my local guitar repair shop they would have taken 7 days to do the repair on just one guitar, so even then it would not be long enough of a return window...and who knows if they'd need more time to do this many pickups, I sure did). This was news to me as I hadn't seen this return policy anywhere on his site, but I didn't want to argue with him about it as he offered me store credit and I figured I might need more pickups for my ongoing guitar projects, so I took that offer. I then had to pay $13 to ship these two pickups back, so I ate that cost...

Then when installing other pickups I found that one didn't even work. I confirmed that it didn't work and wasn't just be installing it improperly as I took it in to my local guitar repair shop and they tested it and found that it was defective, which they wrote on a receipt for me. I then submitted a return request for this, and at first he wasn't going to accept the returrn unless I could prove to him that it was defective, and he said the receipt from the repair man wasn't enough. Then he said that he would let me return it at my own shipping expense, and would offer me store credit again, and if he tested it and found it defective then he would reimburse me for the shipping. At this point I've installed the rest of the other pickups and found that they do not even sound better, but are actually worse than the budget pickups that came on these super cheap guitars (that cost between $95 and $160). Two of these pickups have an annoying hum, so while they work and aren't defective enough for me to uninstall and try to send back, it's annoying that I've paid for a product that doesn't sound good (in addition to so many other products). Also, I'm already out over $100 due to this bad business man, and now he wants me to return this product at my own expense so that he can test it, and I'm not sure if he will actually make good on reimbursing me for shipping or not, and regardless, I've lost too much money and at this point am worried about over-drafting my account so I can't afford to spend more to send this back. I also take issue with this "return policy" of his, which seems predatory because not only is it not enough time for even a professional to do the work, but he claims it is listed at the bottom of each sales page I bought from, and I returned to them to find that he had lied, and I took screen shots to prove it. I tried filing a charge-back dispute with paypal, and he lied to them about his return policy being posted at the bottom of every page on his site, and then paypal denied it because their new policy states they only deal with charge-backs the same month the purchase was made, which again, is not enough time for a big project like this, sometimes it takes time to learn that you've been sold a defective product.

Anyways, I cannot afford to lose this $100 but I have to cut my losses at this point instead of spending more to try to return this just for store credit to get more bad products that will cost me more time and energy (as well as money for the guitar repairman), and then potentially more money to ship them back. I'm a disabled person and have to live off of $1,000 a month, so I had to save up all year for this project, only to be ripped off! And I've also read reviews that say that their pots, and any wooden guitar parts are even worse. So obviously I recommend avoiding them and not buying anything from them. They definitely are selling cheap crap parts, cheaper and crappier than the ones that come with the cheapest guitars possible (like Glarry), at a high markup and they charge too much for shipping and don't pay you for return shipping and have a predatory return policy. Don't subject yourself to being ripped off like I was.

Ordered relic tuners, bridge and string guides. The tuners didn't fit the sleeves they sent so I spent an hour modifying. The bridge and string guides were brand new, zero sign of any relicing. If my last order is any indication, I'll get an oh well, tough luck reply or no reply at all. These guys used to be top notch quality control and service. Not so any more.

Well...I build guitars. Sometimes for money but mostly for myself. I play 340 shows per year, I'm endorsed by several major companies like Seymour Duncan and EMG, as well as Quilter Amps. I've had a few guitars. These are garbage. I've ordered a few necks from them, all arrived with crazy bad fret work. The latest has a truss rod that doesn't do anything. When I asked for a replacement neck they needed "pictures of the truss rod not working" in order to provide a replacement. Give me a break. I'd have to film a whole video for them. Since I'm filming at this point, on my own dime, I think I'll just film the process and upload it to my youtube channel as well as my social media outlets.

The good: their pickups can be a great value. Some of their guitars also, like the Slick products even though I am not a fan of relic.

The not-so-good: I moved and changed my address with no pending orders. When I signed in recently to order, the site had my old street address but my new city, so it only partially retained the info. That plays into this next issue. When I ordered it applied a discount but dropped the discount when I paid. Contacted customer service, and no response nearly two weeks later. The money has already been removed from my account but nothing shipped.

I recently purchased several items from guitar fetish. Overall I found that the quality and value was quite high.

However one of the purchases that I made, a wiring harness, had several solder's break.

Two of the broken solders happened on the output jack were you plug the amp into the guitar.

I sent two emails asking for help, and had to wait almost a week for a reply. In the reply the customer service agent accused me of extending the cables because they were too short. In reality the solders had broke because they were too short and crappily done to begin with. And to make the solder I had to strip the wire further down. There wasn't room for that as the cable was almost the perfect length that I needed in the beginning.

I asked for a replacement cable and I assume that I was laughed at. So I bought my own.

Buy from guitar fetish at your own risk. 4 out of 5 times you'll get a good product That fifth time you'll have terrible customer service.

Received a guitar case either damaged or defective. Sent an email, after reading their warranty policy realized not much recourse especially when you have to pay return shipping.
Do not recommend, false savings

Ordered several Strat and Tele bodies for builds. They have all been equal or better than the Fender bodies I have worked on. Ordered a Strat neck for a low expense build. Will have to see if that is ok. Sometimes you just have to massage parts to get them to fit. Even on bodies I have made. I don't have a CDC machine so cutting and shaping the old fashioned way. My only complaint is it usually tales 4-5 days after I place an order before it is shipped. Most of my other suppliers ship with 2 days.

I bought a Pro 820 from GF. It arrived promptly and had no finish problem. The action was playable but I expected to have to set intonation and action height. The tuners and hardware, while maybe not the best, work fine and keep the guitar in tune. The main problem were the fret ends. All needed a lot of work to smooth out the sharp ends. This is something I have the tools for but took a while. Also when first plugged in it had a bad hum. I had to add a ground wire from the volume pot to the bridge. I notified them of the problems and they gave me a $20 credit. The neck pickup was not to my liking so I ordered a new neck pick up. With the plug in system it was an easy swap. The selector switch was a box type and I wanted a blade type. So I used my credit and ordered a switch from GF. After installing the switch it was very staticky when switched. I then bought an Oak 3 way switch and problem fixed. All in all a good guitar for the price. It now plays like a dream and sounds awesome.

Bought p bass pickups and electronics came broken, wire from pickup came frayed and unsoldered. Tried to return but they declined, their policy states ten days to return but it took ten days to even get here! Very disappointing

I ordered a GFS telecaster body. After I placed the order I was informed of the potential 10 business day handling time ($18 shipping) when check out was completed. They did not send tracking info till the 9th day (two weeks) after the order. The body came with several very noticeable finish flaws. I contacted customer service to inquire about a resolution but I never received a reply.

... I prolly woulda given MUCH less. Here's my experience...
I bought it expecting the World out of the XV500- right out of the box.

The guitar was basically unplayable out of the box. It musta had 1/4" action on it.

So, I took it to a "guitar setup" shop and they too were not able to do much.
So, I was about ready to chuck it when I decided to try and straighten the neck
Myself.

After over ONE FULL TURN of the trussrod adjusment the neck straightened
Out, and this instrument is now playing at almost a fantasy-level of playability.
Most "Gibiphone" guitars I've ever played aren't as nice. ESPECIALLY not at this
Price point.

BUT... It took a LOT of tweaking to get there... Not "monetary" tweaking, but figuring
Out how seat the tailpiece and bridge and apply trussrod tension-- All the things that go
Into a "bench" setup.

I think there should be SOME sort of notice to the buyer that this instrument MAY
Need a full setup, but that may just be my experience... Personally I'd rather
Keep the pricepoint and tweak it... As it's sold as a "tweaker's" guitar anyway.

I ordered the hh pickguard, the switch is not functioning well, the bridge humbucker is very low powered, very low volume, on the plus side, the neck humbucker sounds very good, as long as you do not play at higher volumes, I really would not recomend this product, but if everything had worked properly, it would be a nice deal.

The address crashed during a purchase so when I clicked refresh the address info section autofilled a wrong address but order was placed already. Within one second I quickly emailed their orders department telling them about this issue thinking it was no problem as they stated that they take 3-10 business days to ship. To my horror I woke up to an email that completely disregarded my issue and that they have shipped my order anyway with the wrong address. I have since never heard back from them despite sending them multiple emails.

I had a Strat project that I intended for HH pickups. I bought a GF loaded pickguard.@$40 plus shipping. Didn't get around to the install during the 1st 10 days. Installed and pickguard had a warp plus the pickups, especially the neck, we're bass heavey and muddy. Cost $16 to return for an in store only credit. Once the credits spent I'm done with them.

Been buying things off GF for some time, a decade at least and never been burned in way whatsoever, cases, parts, tools, whatever. I hit them up on the holidays for th discounts usually ends up free shipping for me.

Been reading a LOT of rubbish by members clearly not being honest, GF discloses pretty much everything you need to know, they let you know you are taking a risk on items that may be risky, anything else is defective they take it back, I could read too far, but the dood with the fret sprout after spending $$$ on fret work? Huh?

Then its "unplayable" cuz the neck is twisted? Who wouldn't send it back if its supposed to be straight?

They are honest about all their products, and frankly you might be surprised with some of their product, pickups especially, sub $100 sets of real good pups is rare anymore.

I was skeptical but now I know you get more than what you pay for their pickups.

I've gotten very good hardware as well, they disclose it all, their quick connect is a hoot for sub $100 sets, find quick connect for that price?

Clearly someo these commenters are shills, and not very good ones at that, people getting bent up guitars supposed to be straight but don't return them?

You can remove the neck secure it and return it in a smaller box, budget should be any more than $30 from anywhere in the states. Lotta hog warsh $100 to ship where are you japan? Shoulda bought something closer to home, even though I highly doubt they are sending out any guitars with twisted or bent necks, and anyone thinks they can buy budget guitars that don't need setups think again, not from the USA.

I've only heard GOOD things about their slick guitars from MANY good players, always seems the novice is butthurt cuz he doesn't want to learn how to set up a guitar then pays a shady luthier to do a half $#*! job. Sheesh man, somany youtube vids walk you through this stuff, even how to straighten twisted necks fcs.

IMHO if you want to but form GFS you will be taken care, of, be aware of shipping, their wood products that are seconds so forth you take a gamble, any guitars like Slick whatever that aren't right talk top them, work it out, they can send you a shipping label if its that bad, I really don't think they are sending out bent up guitars, why? So they can pay to have it shipped back?

These guys aren't fly by night, not even close, stop with the nonsense already. Good lord, they have good prices for good budget mods, pickups are worthy I've bought and played many sets. I like em specially the blues and vintage winds..

Bought a XGP neck and body. Neck was said to be able to fit the body perfectly, and the same claim was made for the body. Sadly, the neck pocket was not routed large enough to allow the neck to be set. It could not go in and the width of the neck was clearly too wide for the body's neck pocket. When I reached out to Guitarfetish about the parts not fitting together they basically told me it was close enough and to sand it till it fit. Have not had this problem with Allparts or Mighty Mite so I call BS and recommend against buying from Guitarfetish. Poor quality, no service.

Bought an unfinished neck. In order to make a warranty claim and receive a refund, I had to notify them within 10 days. Of course, when you're building a guitar, you're not always going to be ready to assemble in 10 days.

So, after that, you get 60 days to get store credit. I assembled within 60 days. Of course, to see if the neck was playable, I had to drill into the neck to mount it to the body, and drill into the headstock to install tuners.

What I found was that the nut was poorly cut. Strings were so high that they bent the notes sharp just fretting a D chord (or any other). The neck was actually bent backward, so I put 1/4 turn in the truss rod and the neck bent wildly in the other direction. So, I walked the truss rod back a few millimeters at a time until it looked acceptable. It never was. I've set up guitars many, many times and have never had issues like this.

So, thinking I got a bad one, I decided to return it. But, I had already drilled more than 10 holes into it to mount the tuners and mount the neck to the body.

Guitar Fetish's return policy states,"We will gladly issue Store Credit for all items returned within 60 days as long as they are returned with all original packaging and have not been modified or altered in any way."

So, the catch 22. You don't know if the neck is defective unless you alter it, and once you alter it, you can't return it.

That's really all you need to know. If you're thinking about using Guitar Fetish, just flush your money down the toilet, because you still won't have a working neck, but at least you'll save time and effort.
