First time ordering from grub hub, obviously going for delivery. After I had paid, it said that I was supposed to PICK UP. This was something that was not an option at this time. I called Grub Hub immediately, and was ultimately told the food preparation had already started so they couldn't cancel the order/give me a refund, only 20% off my next order. I called the restaurant to let them know I would not be picking up the food.
This was not going to work for me. I then proceeded to contact them on the chat on the app, and was told the same thing. "We apologize, we understand, there's nothing we can do"... And then they kept closing my chat down.
The final chat conversation ( I was NOT giving up!) The person seemed to be more understanding, but toward the end i was told the same thing. I then told them I had screen shot all those conversations and was going to post them on social media so everyone could see how awful the customer service was. I then left the chat and low and behold... 2 minutes later got a text notification that I was issued a full refund. Hallelujah!
Moral of the story, threaten them with social media shaming and you just might get your money back
Never ever ever order from them. The drivers will never deliver your food, marked it as delivered and you get no refund. So basically the driver eats your food for free while grubhub just says "I understand your frustration". I'm never ever ordering from them again and also posting about this on my social media.
Our first order from them. Was promised it would be free of delivery charge and we ordered from the local store about 2 miles from our house. Ordering from Captain D's so the fish MUST be hot. Also, the store they chose is about 12 miles away in another state and the sales tax is much higher. The driver was very nice and we tipped her well. She apologize and said she didn't understand why they did this.
They must get a higher percentage for using other store is the only reason I an have for having a driver go an extra 10 miles to pick up an order. When I initiated a "Chat" to correct it all I got in response was "Sorry, there is nothing we can do". Every response over five times was "sorry there is nothing we can do"..."we cannot cancel the order". This was 20 seconds after the order had been placed.
Might try another delivery service but never never again use "Grub Flub"!
Beware, if a delivery driver steals your food and claims they tried to deliver, you will NOT get a refund. You will get some BS "50% off next order" - Like F***ing Hell I Will Be Making Another Order! Customer service reps are jaded, don't care about customers calling in. It's utter nonsense. Worst customer service EVER. GrubHub lost a customer - I'll be using delivery.com or just picking up from local businesses.
Grubhub was at the very least extremely slow today. Maybe it's because it's Christmas Eve, but I'm still going to give a rather low rating. Today, I ordered from a restaurant 10 minutes away from my home, I didn't have any cash on me so I figured ordering online was the second best option. I understand being delayed a little bit since it's the holidays, but getting my order almost 2 hours late? Nahhhh... The guy who delivered my order was very nice, but my food arrived cold. One of them was lukewarm and the other was just cold. Both were foods meant to be hot/warm.
I might give this another chance since this could just be me getting a bad experience the first time, but I still feel rather weary about this service. 2/10 would not recommend
Tried to order delivery from a local restaurant, was told that i would have to order from one of the delivery services. GrubHub i'd used before so I put order in thru them. 55-75min estimate -- after 80 mins with no word I chatted with customer service at GH online and was told the food had not been picked up but was about to be and would be delivered in around 15 mins. Only a perfunctory apology offered and the choice to cancel. After 30 more mins I called the restaurant itself and they said the food was still sitting there, no sign of delivery. I got on with GH customer service again and more hollow apologies and this time 20% off next order -- why not this one I asked, eventually was offered $10 off a $100+ order. But again, promises were made for the food to be delivered in 15 mins (now we are over 2 hours after my order). I waited for those 15 mins, contacted GH again, and was told the food was still not with the delivery but "would be any minute"... I cancelled at that time. Our dinner had been ruined, my children were famished and we had to make something quick for them, and now it was too late for a family holiday dinner in any case.
What was amazing was that throughout I was lied to by the GH customer service, and that after many complaints I was only ever offered $10 off! If any self-respecting restaurant had messed up a delivery like that they would have delivered the food without charge with a humble apology, promising this would never happen again. GrubHub's attitude was, "too bad, we really don't care" and so I will NEVER order thru them again. I will instruct my business to never use them, and I will tell everyone I know how abysmal their service is.
As a loyal customer I will not be ordering from your company again. I feel as though your company does not display customer satisfaction. I placed an order last night which never arrived to my residence. I am utterly disappointed. The driver stole my food that I paid for and I was left hungry. On top of that Grubhub did not issue a full refund. Instead there was coupons offered to me in which I had to pay additional money to use. I do not appreciate your service and I will be placing a bad review on your behalf. I will not recommend Grubhub to any of my family, friends, or Colleagues
Do not trust this company. The poor folks at customer service are nice enough, but the company is an utter failure. It's one purpose is to deliver food. It Epically fails at this regularly. Customer service can do nothing to rectify any problem and you will have waited an hour for FOOD THAT WILL NEVER ARRIVE. Please don't ever waste your time with Grubhub
Last night, we used Grubhub for the 1st time using the link in an email we received FROM Grubhub stating, "Delicious delivery is nice. $12 off your first order of $15+ is even better.* So don't delay, order today!" Only $7 was deducted even though we used THAT code through THAT link in the email, this was our FIRST order through them and the order was over $40. When I chatted with someone on the Grubhub website just now, they were NO HELP and evidentally implied I lied about the code saying it was only a $7 value. I told her I could forward it to her - that it CLEARLY says $12 off and if it's posting wrong that is not my fault. She would not fix THEIR mistake, did not let me forward the email - NOTHING. Terrible customer service. That was our 1st and LAST experience with Grubhub.
Worst experience. Ordered around 8:30 PM and haven't received anything until 10 PM due to unassigned drivers. Eventually forced to cancel the order due to closing of restaurant. Please do invest in customer service and driving staff so that people don't go hungry. If your are in food business means your doing a good work, don't ruin it with bad service. It may seem small for one order but eventually it will show up.
Waited for the food i ordered for 1.5 hours to be told that the restaurant is closed and I will not be getting my food. I Placed an order at 6:40PM. It was supposed to arrive at 7:30. I got several messages saying that there are delays, the last one said that my food will arrive at 8:10. At 8:10 i got a phone call saying that the restaurant is closed and my food will not be coming.
I placed ant order through Grubhub for Applebee's. 2 dinner orders of ribs with sides and 2 appetizers. When my driver is in the way I get a call from Applebee's saying the driver picked up the wrong order. Long story short driver show up with somebody else's order. Applebee's has called me and said they had called the driver but the driver would not come back for correct order. I spoke with both Grubhub and Applebee's. Grubhub said there was no other driver available to pick up my order which I find incredible. Refunded my money big deal. Grubhub is absolutely no customer service and I will never use them again. Also Applebee's is half responsible for not paying attention to their to go orders. Will never again use either one
I put in my order since 6:25pm as you can see in the photos. By 8:18pm my order was still "in the works". My order was supposed to arrive by 7:33pm. I didn't get my food until close to 9:00pm. That is unacceptable! I did chat with an agent and they said they would email me a $10 code but I never received it. Last night I was going to have Grubhub another try and remembered that I had a $10 coupon code in my email. I went searching for it only to find out I never did receive the email from them. Granted it would have been past the 30 day window however, to find out it was never emailed to me was very upsetting. The agent said that it shows it was emailed to me but in actually it wasn't. I'm extremely disappointed in having to wait for over 2 hours for my food from start to finish but to find out I didn't get the $10 code was even more upsetting. Not a good way of running a business!
Didn't provide accurate times of when the food would be delivered. We were out there when it said they were and they said the food was already delivered. Contacted immediately and they refused to provide a refund even after we tried calling the driver and were waiting outside our home.
Waited an hour and a half for a salad. I look at my account and it says it's been delivered. No calls or anything from him. I contacted customer service that the driver just punched in it was delivered then probably ate it. They gave me 50 percent off my next order like I'd be using these idiots again. Will be calling my cc company to dispute. They are the worst.
Took my money and cancelled my order at the same time. Worst experience ever. Customer service also offered no help, just kept generically apologizing that I had a problem with it and trying end the chat.
Waited 6 hours for them to tell me they didn't get my order took money and all tell me sorry nothing we can do
The last couple times I have ordered from grubhub have been horrible.
They automatically cancelled a couple orders, with no notification.
Late delivery.
My biggest beef with both grubhub and doordash is that they now also add on a service fee.
My $20 bucket of KFC ended up being $30 plus tip. The service fee was more than the taxes.
If you need to add a service fee, that should be charged to the restaurant they contract with.
I won't be using grubhub any further.
I rarely ever give reviews of anything but Grubhub really needs to be put out of business as they are unable to deliver on their promise. I am a cook and the final 3rd time I used Grubhub, they were late, unapologetic and full of blame the customer. Look the food delivery business is hard but if that's your core mission and you can't execute, don't expect to stay in business very long
3 out of 3 orders I have been involved with were screwed up... and just try and call the customer service, that's an adventure in stupidity
Answer: I travel for a living and have experienced the lousy service that is Grub Hub. From Philadelphia PA to Shreveport LA and multiple other cities THIS SERVICE SUCKS. There's nothing good to say about it.
Answer: Both. But he is not alone, unfortunately. He only got exposed. Millions others are working in politically intolerant places. We have to change that.
Answer: Yes, it is normal. Original delivery times are almost never met. No drivers, Lost Drivers, Poorly trained or untrained drivers.
Answer: LOL... no kidding right! How can places take 2 hours to get food to you and not necessarily at a peak time. Good luck! Hope you were able to cancel it, but wonder if it showed up in the mean time. For this reason I no longer use a card but pay cash when I get the food. Hope you've managed to eat something by now.

Answer: Answer: Grub Hub does suck big time. No real answer. If you like cold food, delivered late and an "oh well" customer service attitude, Grub Hub is the company you should use.
Answer: They just don't care. Company motto must be "customer comes last". They simply trying to salvage whatever market share they can before they get bought out by a superior service that actually cares about customers.
Answer: Nothing. By this inaction I would say to quit using this bad business. Go with UberEats or maybe try getting your own food.
