I have not used ideeli for over a year because of my disappointment with my last order where every single piece I ordered was defective (shoes were smaller than the stated size, skirt had a button missing, and the handbag had creases on it which are still there a year later). However, as I was in the middle of the move, I didn't have time to return them.

The items that I had ordered before that were also defective and I ended up returning them. I still have balance in my account in Ideeli from that transaction and I was thinking of closing my account and getting my money back. When I checked my account, I realized that the amount that's showing up in my account looks less than what I was expecting. I send them an email asking if there is a chance that they deducted the money from my account because of inactivity, which would be unethical if they did without my knowledge. I also requested them to close my account and return my money ($140). It took two more emails to finally a get a response, which was "canned" and did not answer my first question.

But here is something they said about returning my money which blew my mind. "It has been over a year that the credit was processed under your account. Unfortunately, we no longer use the system we had a year ago to refund the credits back to your credit card. " What kind of unethical business refuses to credit customers their money because of their own business practices. I am furious and just want them to return my money as well as provide an account of my money so i know why they deducted money from my balance without my knowledge.

I am giving them a chance to resolve this or I will have to share this story on social media sites. [Incident: **************]

An update: They continue to refuse to credit my amount. Here is their response, "Due to the extended period of time in which you received the credit, we're no longer able to issue these credits to you in the form of cash, as they do not exist in that fashion. "

Basically, the money that I have in Ideeli account as credit will not be refunded to me. I am being forced to spend my hard earned money buying their low quality items. Of note, they still haven't provided me with a statement about the money in my account to explain the remaining balance.

Groupon doesn't bother to check out the business before running the ads. They only care about numbers. And if a company sells a lot of vouchers it doesn't matter to them what it looks like or how it's ran. They have created a bunch of cheap people who are looking for a discount knowing they are not going to come back. I compare groupon to foodstamps because that's how customers are treated. When they call to to redeem their voucher and once the merchant hears " I have a voucher from groupon" they are treated like welfare recipients. Can't wait for the day when all of these cheap deal sites goes out of business.

Today I had reviewed another site 'nomorerack.com' because i was so disappointing experiences. And it just suddenly hit me that we only tend to review or rather complain when we have bad experiences. SO I decided to submit my reviews for those that i like too.

I have bought items from Ideeli for over 5 months now. Good deals and most importantly quality products. My experience with the customer service has been great. I like that if you pay shipping on your first purchase, you will get free shipping for the entire month.
I noticed shipments can take a while to arrive and that is the only reason i gave it 4 stars. So make sure to order items early if you are buying them for special event.

Its alright but you have to pay for EVERYTHING with separate shipping and handling. There is no combining orders or the option to continue shopping. They know what they're doing. Which is why my review is so low

I have been buying from ideeli for several years. Two years ago I had a bad customer service experience when they sent me only one item instead of two, and did not want to compensate me for a missing item. But I let it go. Boy was I wrong. In the last month ideeli managed to screw up 2 of my orders: one item was of different size than what I ordered, and other one was different color. I have had enough. It would still be fine if they were prompt responding to my issue, but I have been waiting for 2 days for them to reply to me! They did send me a confirmation that they received my question, saying they they "pledge to respond within 24 hours". What a joke! Please don't bother ordering from ideeli when there are so many website with really excellent customer service, such as myhabit or zulily.

This has been hit and miss with me but my last experience will be my last experience. Bought a oil change package for $18. Ending up costing me $82. They did not credit the Groupon properly, ended up telling me I had to have more expensive oil. Really lousy business practice that can only make enemies.

I purchased Bluetooth headphones from them. They were not cheap. I Paid good money for the product to only last 3 months. They will not stand behind the product nor assist in dealing with the manufacturing company. I feel that since they advertised them and they received the money for them that they should do everything reasonably possible to resolve this issue, not get a generic email basically saying " to bad, so sad, your screwed!"

Don't bother purchasing the 'Mystery Product'. I thought I'd give it a try and paid $10 plus shipping ($4.00). Yesterday I got this great Mystery Gift - a bottle of Paul Mitchell Conditioner for coarse/colored hair - neither of which I have. I found the same bottle at Walmart for $12.47 - IF I wanted it, which I don't. I gave it a try and was very disappointed.

Awful, disrespectful fulfillment department. As if people there are constantly under whatever influence. I won't go in depth but, believe me, it's absurd.
Billing is also very peculiar: credits don't show up weeks at a time, of course it means more profit for the owners. There are no email or other notifications for the transactions, tracking your payment/credit balance is practically impossible.
Out of stock items still shown as shipped, eligible for return items marked as NO in package slip.
Unless you are a pro in accounting don't make a habit buying at ideeli.

I have bought more than 150 coupons from Groupon. Two mounths ago I didn't have the possibility to go to a restaurant before the expiring date because in the meantime I had to go to an hotel with another coupon. So I asked to be refunded, but Groupon refused. Than I decided to sue all the others coupon and to delite me form Groupon mailing list.

Groupon Users fail to realize when they get a big discount on spa services, their therapist is only getting paid MINIMUM WAGE for that service. SO DON'T BE CHEAP when it comes to the gratuity! Most therapists and technicians provide the best experience possible for you, this is a form of advertising remember. The owners and Therapists take a big hit, hoping to gain your trust and your business. Tip on the regular price and stick to the 15 to 20% rule. If you have a gripe with the front desk, take it up with them, Don't skip the gratuity to your therapist, it is not their fault!

I have been a groupon.com customer for years and am REALLY disappointed in their customer service. I ordered men's cologne yesterday and figured out two and half hours later that I had ordered the wrong kind. I wrote them to simply change the kind (same price, it was an even trade and both were still in stock) and I was written back saying "Groupon Goods make great gifts, so if you're not able to use this item yourself, feel free to give it to a worthy recipient. Unfortunately, because it has been more than 2 hours since you made your purchase, your order has already been processed and your item has either shipped or will be in transit shortly." Which is total and utter BULL$#*! it's 24 hours later and it's still not shipped and won't be because it's a labor day weekend. BAD BAD business, NOT how you keep customers, will never buy a groupon again. All for something that would have taken a customer service person maybe 5 minutes to switch in the computer. I am left with cologne that I will be selling on ebay and the groupon is left with a lost customer.

I am actually one of the Groupon Merchants. The only goo thing that came out if it was the advertising. But I'm even now questioning if it was worth it. Groupn is unfair to both the merchant and the buyer. They mislead you on deals to get your money, and they mislead merchants who end up with a lot of angry customers because of it.

IT IS NOT THE MERCHANT'S FAULT! ~ we have NO control over the wording. Yes, we can approve it before it goes up. But a lot of the technicalities slip through the cracks & you don't notice it until its to late.

By that point, groupon refuses to fix it.

I cant say enough bad things about them & how they used me. They are a pain in the $#*! to get a hold of. They took forever to give me my money (Even through the online merchant center said that payment had been made). It was a nightmare!

When my client wanted a refund because I was booked for the day she wanted (on my deal, I had them state that appointment was required prior to purchase). Groupon told my client they were going to MAKE me give her the day she wanted. They have no authority to do that. They actually lied to my client, because they never even tried to contact me regarding the issue on her behalf.

I have a photography company. Groupon worded my deal completely wrong (You aren't allowed to word your own deal), I had to ask them to change the wording multiple times. They kept asking me to lower my price or give them a higher percentage (They ended up with 51% which left me with nothing for all the work I did). They pressure you to put a large cap on the amount of groupons you can give.

They are sly and are only looking out for how much money they get.

I can really go on. I am so mad at them. But PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did. Don't go with groupon, they are other sites that wont try and bankrupt you. And dont buy a groupon either because you will be disappointed.

~ Paige

I was very unhappy with a cooking class I purchased from Groupon. I felt the cooking class was not in fact a cooking class, but rather a cooking demo (there was very little cooking done by the people there for cooking class) I contacted customer support expressing my unhappiness. I received a response within 24 hours and was given half the value of what I paid to use on another Groupon purchase. I was very satisfied with their response and would be willing to give Groupon another try because of their response.

Horrible experience!
August 27, 2013

Horrible experience! Where do I begin. It was my first time shopping with ideeli so I made sure everything was returnable, once purchased on my confirmation email it stated 2 of the items were nonreturnable and on the printed packaging slip once my items were delivered it stated all 3 were no returnable. Ideeli took care if it and I was able to return all 3. Ideeli's return policy states 2-4 days once they receive your return for it to be processed and for you to receive your refund. Reached out to them on the 5th business day once I still hadn't received my refund, they told me to check back the next day. Checked back and they now told me it would take 5-8 days to receive my refund. On the 7th day after continuously contacting them i finally received a notification that my return was being processed and it would take 3-5 days to see the credit returned to my account. We are now looking at 10-16 business days vs the 2-4 to receive a $100+ refund. Unacceptable. They don't adhere to their written terms.

Hi Kaitlin,

Thanks very much for taking the time to leave your feedback on SiteJabber. We're very sorry you had difficulties returning an item to us. It currently takes 5-10 business days to receive a return and 3-5 business days to process it, though we hope to do so in a much quicker time frame. It then takes up to 5 business days, depending on your bank, for that credit to appear in your account. You can find more information here: http://idee.li/ideeliFAQreturntime. Within the window of 5-10 business days for shipping and another 3-5 business days for processing, we have refunded your account and are awaiting the bank's confirmation and delivery of your funds. Again, we do apologize for this delay. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to private message me so I can assist you directly.

I have been purchasing hotel stays, massages, facials, restaurant vouchers and a few other categories for a little over a year now so I thought I could submit a fair review. I would say I've used about 40 groupons over the year (I think I'm addicted).

Every groupon has worked perfectly and with the hotel stays they usually throw in some perks (a food voucher, late check out or a small gift). All places honored everything that was promised.

The vouchers are available seconds after purchase and have all the details you need. Before ANY purchase ALWAYS read the fine print because expiration dates can sneak up on you. If there's a slight question whether you will make it by the dead line, don't do it no matter how good the deal is. However, if time slipped away, don't hesitate to call the business to ask if they will still honor it even tho it's expired.

I too am a business and have used groupon to get more visitors and I ALWAYS honor groupons... even if expired. Doesn't hurt to ask!

Lastly, I highly suggest that you take a look at the companies own website BEFORE purchasing a groupon. Lets face it, some businesses are struggling & this is a last ditch effort to get the word out & win some new customers. With that said, some of these places might be in a bad section of town, a little run down or might not be your type of place. For instance, I purchased a facial at a salon and when I got there it was a place that specialized in ethnic services. Not only that but they had never offered facials before so they were "winging" it. Not a good experience at all. Another lesson learned that I'm passing on to my fellow bargain hunters. If I had only looked at their website I could have saved myself some money & a not so good experience.

So give Groupon a try!

I will not be buying anymore Groupons. Groupon does not check out the companies they post deals for. I bought an air duct cleaning coupon for $49.00. After numerous attempts I was able to schedule an appointment. The company "Fresh Air United Builders" aka "Fresh Air Duct Services" aka "United Air Cleaners" came to my house. They went into my garage. Ran a house to my furnace and turned it on. I can't see that they actually did anything. They did not clean any of the ducts in my house. Then tried to sell me a 5 year warranty package costing $699 plus two filters with an additional charge of $100 each, or, a 10 year warranty package for $1,600.00 which included the two filters and a UV light. Annual cleanings were included in the cost of both packages. Thankfully I Googled the company and saw that everything they did was a scam. Had I bought either of their packages I would had the pleasure of the company vanishing. Also, they really don't clean anything with their hose. It's just on to make it sound like they are doing something. There are complaints all over about this company going back many years. Why does Groupon continue to help this company rip people off? I am only out $49 so it could be worse, however, I have Groupon to thank for being ripped off at all. Like I said, I will never by anything from Groupon again!
