I tried to use Groupon for a lot of the things I needed or wanted for my wedding. Upon ordering, half of what I purchased was either out of stock, or unavailable. I ordered something for my fiance and was told the company that I bought it from doesn't even offer the service and they have no idea how the Groupon was on there. If they got their act together, I would continue to be a patron, but at this point it's not worth the trouble.
I bought a groupon for a hair cut and colour by REN. I had a lot of issues dealing with REN because of her lack of communication and professionalism. She canceled my appointment an hour before (only because I had texted her twice to confirm the appointment that same day). She was very unreliable and did not bother responding to my request of getting a refund. I turned to groupon hoping they would do something about this matter. I've been trying to contact them for 4 days now. Each time I go on it says they are experiencing higher than normal service volumes and they cannot assist. I sent 3 emails in the last 3 days, still no response. The online chat is not available and now the calling option isn't. Each time I have sent an email, it says they will respond within 4 hours. It has now been 4 days, and no response.
If you are thinking of getting a groupon, especially for local deals, don't expect any money back or response from any groupon representative. They will not assist you, if you have any problems whatsoever.
The thing with groupons is that the business that has the deals up, don't make much money off of it since groupon takes most of the cut. Hence, why these businesses don't care about delivering exceptional customer service. In my experiences and stories that I have heard from other people, once you tell the person you have a groupon, you automatically drop of the priority list. They no longer care much about taking care of your needs. Because in the end they don't make much money off of it, they don't care to respond or deal with anything that goes wrong or doesn't work out. And clearly, neither does groupon, since they are the ones making money off it. They really don't care if you are experiencing any problems, they will not respond.
So, if you have any issues that arise with your groupon, don't expect any help let alone your money back.

I used to love this site and always got my items in great time and they were always in perfect condition. However, I ordered some Christmas gifts near the end of October, got all but two things, which after 3 WEEKS of trying to find out what was going on, the status finally changed to "Canceled or Closed". So I tried again around Black Friday when they had another sale. Again, got everything else in the order (and even other orders after this) but two items that were similar to the original ones I wanted. I tried their live chat is is ABSOLUTE JOKE! They are only available for a literal minute each day. What the...?! So I tried to email. 3 times. No response even though they claim to respond within 24 hours. What a crock. After another 3 weeks, the item statuses change to shipment pending, whatever that means. Finally I got smart and purchased the items from a different site and lo and behold, yesterday I receive one of the items in "Shipment Pending". Now I'm wondering if i'm going to get the other item, but will never know because this dumb site doesn't say whether it has been shipped or not. I will NEVER buy from this site again! I advise everyone to do the same and pass over this site!
In the past I have made several purchases. If the item wasn't up to my standards, I could return for refund or credit (even if the item was listed as not returnable). Now, I can't get any customer service even though they guarantee a response in 24 hours. I will never buy fro them again. There is no phone number, there isn't customer service at all!
This company is the biggest scam. The first time I placed an order with them, I needed to return one item. When returning the item, I noticed that they conveniently lowered the price of the item so that they can credit me a much smaller amount. They went as far as changing my online order to show a lower price. I compared this with the order confirmation email, and sure enough, they had pulled the scam.
Emailing customer service results in NOTHING. There is no phone number to call. So I sucked up this order and told myself that it was perhaps a mistake on their end.
The next time, I had a few items in my cart. I added one more item that I really wanted, and accidentally hit the checkout button. Bam. The order was placed INSTANTLY without any confirmation, any ability to change the order, nothing. I emailed them and 8 hours later they sent me an email saying that "it was too late to cancel the order". A week later the items arrive, EXCEPT the last item I had added that I actually wanted. Now I try to return the items, and it says "the time to return them has expired". Oh, and as of December 1,2015, they conveniently CHANGED THEIR RETURN POLICY.
I'm now calling my credit card company to challenge the payment and sending their stuff back. No one responds to email, there is no phone number. This business is a total scam and rip-off.
If. They don't fix their customer service interaction in a timely manner their business model will tank. I see more bad reviews than I see good. This review is for customer service and not being able to cancel my same day purchase. WOW! They really don't want to be in contact with people. Their home website don't even have an area where you cant contact them directly, takes you in circles.
I have shopped on Ideel for years. Suddenly, you can't return items, there is no response to requests (except an email saying they pride themselves on responding in 4-24 hours. It has been over a week and still no response.) I can only conclude that they are in such bad shape that they won't be around much longer. Although I used to place at least a couple of orders a month with them, I am no longer ordering anything because it appears I won't be able to return items.
UPDATE: I complained (rather emphatically) through their customer service email and was finally issued a full refund on my credit card. Sad to see that Ideel is apparently never going to be the site it was now that Groupon purchased it, but at least they resolved my issue.
Have tried repeatedly to find a groupon for Friday and Saturday night popular dinner spots and they are not to be found!
There are times where a golden opportunity comes to buy something great! Otherwise, the other products looks crappy.
Every time I have made a purchase from Groupon my credit card # has been stolen. I am done with this site!
Sister uses it a lot with no problem. Ordered boots off this site. Took about a week to get it. Was a little worried since the tracking number they gave me didn't work (minus one star). But yay I got it. Perfect. Will use again in the future
I am very sad that a great company has gotten quite bad in the last year. The customer service is pathetic. You used to actually get a response in under 4 hours as they still advertise but now it takes several days.
Today they are advertising a 30% discount with $200+ purchase but when I place items worth $207 in my cart, I only get 20% discount! That's just wrong.
Also their live chat hours are apparently only 1 minute each day from 8:59-9 AM Mon-Fri and 10:59-11AM Sat and Sun. I tried to live chat them today at 12:50 pm and they were offline. Is this a joke?!
For anyone interested to know this, the company has been owned by Groupon since ever they changed their name from Ideeli to Ideel.

I have ordered 2 items using my store credit. The items arrived on the last day of the eligible return and became not returnable. The life chat doesn't work, e-mails are not answered. I lost my money. This company is a scam, stay away from them!
They have the WORST customer service! I am currently on hold with them, and recording says my wait will be at least an hour!
I have been trying for DAYS to process a return, but their site just keeps saying the following:
OOPS! Groupon Goods is temporarily unavailable or overloaded. Please try again in a couple minutes! Yeah right! How about trying back in a couple weeks?
What absolutely crappy service! I bought some earrings that look very nice on their website (3 different pairs), and when I got them, they are so small I don't think they'd even fit an infant. Now I can't even return them.
Sure, they state that they take returns, but that's just because they won't respond to their customers requests, so they never have to take returns or refunds.
This experience cost me $115.00. It will be my last purchase with Groupon!
I have bought Nails for my Wife and even an Ipad Keyboard. Always great deals and comes into my email box.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?

Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.

Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
