This company rips people off on prepaid cards. My son got $25 on a prepaid card as a gift. Upon activation they charged $8 fee, leaving him $17 out of $25 to use. Then he used it to download money on his Starbucks account. They charged him another $5 to use the card. He only got to use $10 out of $25 with a balance of $2 on the card leftover. Complete rip off

This is the worst prepaid card ever! I put 60 on it and got $15 in fees! Could not find free ATM! It said 7-11 but got changed 6.50 fees! No nobody answered my customer service chat! Garbage!

I received a gift debit card purchased from Walmart, I saved it until a time I needed money.
I activated it and found out someone had hacked greendot card codes and used over $80.00 on it
The card was secure and still in original protective paperwork when I activated it.
After several unsuccessful calls to their customer service I asked why they were denying reimbursement. They gave me no reason other than to say, what I saw on line myself that it had been used. I was not allowed to talk to their "investigative department" or a "dispute department" supervisor. So at this point I am without my $80. Plus monies. So sad
I am surprised that Walmart does business with this company.

After I loaded the money on the card they told me I would not be able to purchase anything online only in stores. Be aware they will ask you your social security number birth date all your information to register the car to find out if you can use it online.

Fraud

I cashed app myself 1500 on a Saturday check my card Wednesday. I have another cash app to myself for 1500 that I didn't do nor is it on or has ever been on my cash app. Now I have to wait at least 45 days for a investigation for something clearly is on there end. I have never had a problem until now. When I asked to speak to an American. I was told no Americans work for the department. Now I need my money that I may or may not get back. How do I tell my kids there vacation coming up and now we can't go

Green dot stinks

It's been the most horrible financial experience I have ever endured or even imagined. They charge fees for every transaction and then put limits on your withdrawals.if you want over $500 you are just out of luck. Fees are ridiculous.

I purchased green dot card from retail shop. Attempted to activate card. Was never able to do so! I am supposed to receive a refund check in mail in a few days for the amount loaded onto card at the time of purchase. I was told the card must have malfunction. Or something n g to that effect. Which I could see why being as there are two different expiration dates on the card

If I could rate them a zero. I would. I updated my address via the app. 30 minutes later I get an email asking for a picture of my driver license and that my account will be temporarily suspended. They just blocked it stating that they have to verify my information. Even after answering all of their questions. That incident left me without food, gas, and not being able to pay my rent. Not to mention, they hung the phone up in my face. Don't waste your time or money!

They absolutely suck! Stay away... Scam artists
Ive been trying to transfer money from one account to the other. My money dissappears but doesn'tgo to my other account. I finally get through to someone after 100 tries to get told "im sorry theres nothingi can do for you" Nobody speaks fluent English. Frustrating!

Scam Heaven

A scammer hacked my email and asked my employer to send my paycheck to a Green Dot account. I called Green Dot to see what was up and it seemed as if the reps (I tried three times after getting hung up on twice) were either completely clueless or in on the scam.

I have read all the review and I have had the same problems with the card I bought. They telling me the card has been used but I didn't activate the card. We all need to get in a Class Action Law Suit against Greendot

I bought a Greed Dot card for 40 dollars. It took me a long time to activate it because their system is set up to scam people. They make the system not recognize your card so you may think the wrong is in your side. Once I activated it, I found out they charged me 7.95 dollars for some called "MAINTENANCE FEE". I talked to someone and she got the nerve to tell me she could not reverse the fee since the system could not identify me. BS!. BE careful because this company like others are trying to make us pay for the inflation. They are very subtle in their scam so you may think they are legit, but they are BIG SCAM. DON'T DO IT, otherwise they will keep charging your card.

They hire thieves

The only reason l gave them 1 star is because they made me, they deserve 0 stars.
I bought a card for 50.00 for my grandson.
When l called to activate it the person took my information and then hung up.
I called back and they said that l had no money on the card and when l complained they said that l gave out the number and they won't help me.
The ONLY time l gave the number was to their employees.
That are a piece of $#*! company with no morals, they are thieves.

I noticed a transaction of over 1500 dollars in my account. Someone made a payment with my money through their online account using only my debit card number. After reporting it to Green Dot at their request, I filled out the dispute form and attached a copy of the police report I filed. I also reached out to the merchant who assured me of a chargeback. I logged the times, dates, and names of all conversations with this merchant and forwarded them to Green Dot. After 2 weeks, the merchant sent me an email stating the bank allowed the transaction and I should resolve it through them. The letter detailing green dots findings only stated: "The merchant made no errors and no refunds are pending." Their customer service department is a joke. They lack the ability to resolve issues or choose not to. From my experience, Green Dot is a disgrace. Your money has no security and they are fine keeping it that way.

I WAS ONLY ABLE TO USE MY CARD 2 TIMES... THEN FOR SOME REASON, I WAS NOT ABLE TO USE IT AGAIN FOR WORLDREMIT OR REMITLY. I RAN TO THE CLOSES ATM AND WAS ABLE TO RECOVER 50.00 + 3.00 FROM THE 80 I HAD AND THEN WENT TO A GAS STATION AND GASSED MY CAR FOR 27.32...
I WILL NEVER USE THIS CARD AGAIN AND TOMORROW I WILL CALL TO CANCEL THE ACCOUNT CUZ I DON'T SEE ANYTHING WHERE TO CANCEL IN THE APP

Worthless

Can't get in touch with supervisors, and there is a language barrier. They hold your money like it belongs to them. I have them under investigation for not giving me my money when I provided documents. I requested my money off the card being that I am the originator, they are denying me of that. I would not ever recommend them and please when anyone file taxes, think twice about using them! I have seen a lot of reviews with people that have a large amount on their cards they will find ways to put your account on hold and saying you need to provide them with more documents. Save some time and complain to the Federal Reserve Board!
