On a Sunday I wanted to make a purchase and after picking up the card to find out it was useless for the purpose I bought it for. So I tried to hook it up to my bank account to find out it wouldn't link... I messaged them to find out their help was even more useless... just a piece of $#*!.

Plenty of app errors, time delays (20 mins long b4 screen refresh, have to exit app to do next step. NOT THE RIGHT ACCEPTABLE WAY TO BANKING.

Customer Service = Empty Lip Service & Ignorant Service

Today app displayed zero 0.00 vault balance. PC computer of account had it right. In a modern mIobile world this is damaging to customers of GD!

App can log you off in the middle of a vault transfer which fails to complete the trx! No notice that your being autologged off. No incomplete msg.

When reinstalling app on cell the first screen shows zero balances for checking and vault! Absurd banking behavior! Should be sued to sell accounts to a more responsible bank.

Green Dot sinking in errors. Not a serious bank anymore!

I opened a green dot bank account by buying a $50 green dot bank card and some wound up with a $39 fraudulent charge and $3 transaction fee and was notified of the suspect charge by green dot and. When I verified that I hadn't made the change in question they canceled my card and said they would send me a new card then told me I'd have to call to dispute the charges I called and was placed on hold close to 2 hours and had to call several times before finally getting a hold of anyone. And now I have to wait at least 10 working days to investigate the claim and they will let me know something afterwards. If all I had to my name was $50 green dot just left me with $3 and I never even got to use the card once. I. Feel so betrayed. Apparently this is what modern day customer service looks like. If you can't walk into a bank at least you should be able to get a real person on the phone.

I have had the worst experience of my life with these people. I feel they are a scam and trying to keep my tax refund. They said I had to send front and back copy of my ID, I did that and it's still not good enough because my drivers license has a crease in it from being in my pocket. Now iv got to spend another 30 dollars and wait weeks on my new ID to get here and try again. This is bull$#*! and I'm completely livid about it, I feel like this company is a thief because all they have done is take my tax refund away from me and kept it. I ought to b able to press charges on them for stealing. If you have any other options would use it and not deal with these thiefes at all. They suck and they steal your mo

I purchased a prepaid card. $1.95 activation charge at the counter. I put $20 on this said card to pay a bill. I go to activate card and it registers me for a new card, which I DO NOT want. Go to pay my bill and a declined transaction comes up because this scam company took $7.95 for an activation fee. Then this piece of $#*! tells me it says they charge it on the card. I would not recommend this green dot card to my worst enemy or even a homeless person. They rip you off and take your money. How are you going to charge someone a maintenance fee for a card that does not even have your name on it? I wouldn't even give this company 1 star

The worst! Run!

Green Dot is holding my money hostage. They have hijacked my account and locked my card and I feel like they are stealing my money! I've had a case open with Walmart Money Card for a month and now my card is expired. I initially called to find out where my new card was. No one can answer any questions and I'm constantly sending my information to the email that they send me to respond to. It is not resolved and hasn't been for a month. They keep telling me to wait two business days for a month for each time i've submitted my information. I reported my card stolen to get another card. I am not sure if I will ever use them again. Very inconvenient and their customer service is very unprofessional. Prior to this I didn't have an issue with them. If it can be resolved I'm good with green dot. If not, i don't think I'll ever use this bank and company again and I will advise anyone I know (or do not know) not to deal with them. This started with me updating my home address... A month later and nothing! Now, I am enduring an undue financial hardship because of them. My advice for anyone looking to use this company is, even if you're desperate, RUN!

I had my state tax refund check stolen and an account opened in early April of 2023. We waited and contacted our accountant who informed us of a bank account being opened under my last first name.
We called the State of Illinois Controller's office who said our hands are tide legally we cannot reverse the money from the Bank.
The Bank (on line only) no states we are sorry but the account is closed and the money (our money) will only be refunded by the originator (the agency who originally sent the check to them (Greendotbank.com).
We sent the documents and asked them to freeze the fraudulent account. They then said after 2 days of verification and processing we would get our money less a small fee.
Now they claim that we need to go back to the state.
So they are keeping OUR money even though we did and submitted all the paperwork to close it out!
Your wait times on hold are close to 30-45 minutes only to "loose" a call and have to start all over. If you are looking for a welll-run reputable BANK this isn't the one! Do Not use them!

Terrible company to do business with. They do not stand behind their customers. I asked for a review on transactions that I did not make when my phone was stolen and used to purchase goods I put into appeals, and the outcome was the same. I would not have this card if Apple Pay did not give me rewards on it, take your money out and don't waste your time with them. Terrible terrible!

Am telling you two guys broke into my house tied me up and stolen everything I had just about it I stayed tied up from 3/16/2021 to 03/20/2021 I was deployed on 03/22/2021 so two years later when I got back home I found out that when I called greendot and reported my card stolen on 03/20/2021 they didn't do anything well tonight they messaged me and said I made the transaction well greendot you $#*!ed up because my lawyer has the camera footage of every move the guys did and trust me I don't think I was in them video ok I have a police report that was filed I mean my thing is you have not had time to do anything you lied you are so living wet back son of a $#*!s so people please stay away from this bank greendot

SCAM COMPANY

First online purchase I am scammed! Call 10 minutes after it occurs and am told 'the charge is pending, so I have to wait 11days to file claim. Call in 11 days and am told to give account of what occurred. Do that then I'm told I have to contact Walmart because I got the card through them. Only option is the 'Chat', where I am thrown back to Green Dot, who says I have to go through Walmart 'CHAT' who gives me the number to Green Dot 'CHAT' who gives me number to Walmart. Neither of them want to be bothered, I still have the $7.95 unopened package that cost me $60+. Both companies are pieces of shi_. I'm canceling the'CARD' and will never shop at Walmart again. I know they don't care about my spending of approximately $ 7000. A year but I guarantee they will feel the departure of the rest of my family and friends! GOODBYE GREENDOT, GOODBYE WALMART….YOU'RE BOTH THIEVES AND DON'T DESERVE TO BREATHE AIR. GREENDOT SUPPORTS BLM IN THE WORST WAY….BY SHOWING CUSTOMERS ONLY YOUR SKIN COLOR MATTERS….NOT THE PERSON YOU ARE. YOU DISGUST AMERICA!

Was scammed

My 78 year old mom was scammed went to a 7-11 and the supervisor behind the counter activated for greendot cards for 500$ each for my 78 old mom. No money was on the cards tried to check the balance said it needed a social security number which the 7-11 worker activated I cant reach anyone from greendot and 7-11 headquarters I filled a claim 2 weeks ago no response I cant even talk to a live person from greendot *******@hotmail.com please help.

To i discovered and unauthorized purchase on my walmart debit card. I contacted them through chat and even after i told them i could not use the phone due to severe hearing problems they told me to call them. A year or so ago i had an unauthorized purchase on my debit card and filed a complaint online. Apparently this is no longer done, poor customer service. I again told the person on chat that i could not call and way if was informed i have told you how to file a complaint. This is poor customer service and a lack of compassion for those who have disabilities. I am 73 years old and retired military and only use my phone for text all other communitions are done by email. Apparently they don't care. Will be dropping this debit card as soon as this matter is resolved.

Fees! Fees! Fees! Do you like fees? You'll get plenty of them with this card.

* $1.95 to buy.
* $7.95 monthly fee.
* $3.00 transaction fee on TOP of the $3.50 fee at the PARTICIPATING ATMS. Yes, you will pay $6.50 to withdraw from an ATM.
* A maximum withdraw of $300 per transaction, yet you're allowed to withdraw $500 in a day. The limited withdraw is yet another way to extract fees.
* $.50 to check your balance at an ATM.
* A $5.95 fee to put more cash on the card.
* A $2.50 to $5.00 fee to CLOSE the account.

I'm sure I missed some too. I got this card as payment. Couldn't withdraw the money right away because I needed to order a personal card. Is this supposed to be security or something when I can just sign up with the card number that someone else bought and get a card in my name? What's the point? Got hit with a "monthly" fee after having the card for less than a week. I tried withdrawing the cash from an ATM to close the account, but of course that requires you to get a voucher, take it to Walmart, and pay yet another fee. Even if I could've, two transactions totaling around $350 would have cost me $13 to withdraw, $14 if I got receipts. Oh yeah, and there is NO outgoing bank to bank transfer. They're happy to let you transfer money in, but you can forget the reverse. So, if you like paying an exorbitant amount of money to use your money, by all means, get one of these.

BullSh**, greendot is lost and they don't communicate, dispute dpt, to CS back to Dispute cuz they don't know wat is going on, Im waiting 4 a check reimbursement from them Mailed out 4/14, and they can't seem to find it in the system through my account info, beating around the Bush or Are they just IGNORANT or playing dumb?
35$, I don't GAF IF ITS 1$ OR $I00 want the money due to me, GREENDOT CARDS ARE A RUTHLESS SCAM EXTRA FEES, EXTRA NONSENSE. REPORT THIS COMPANY! BBB BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, they think they R smart on the phone,, GREENDOT IS HORRIBLE!

First of all good luck understanding anyone, the language barrier is bad (no offense to anyone) and they are quick to hang up on you or pass the buck to another associate without help. I was using this card as a emergency only stash. Big mistake! My car broke down out of state and I needed little extra cash. I try the card and it don't work, they verify my info and I gave them my new address since I never moved 3 months prior but haven't used the card since activation. They decide to update my info and that put some sort of block on my account and now I cannot access any of my money! I need to prove I'm me but it's far more intense than when I apply for the card. I currently have a paper Iowa drivers license that is approved for the DOT and all other state regulations, but not good enough to get my emergency funds from good ole high and mighty Green "national security" Dot. Now I need to wait a month for my real ID before I can even start the process of getting my cash back. They really don't care so I'm giving this review like I don't care. They are horrible people to work with!
