I loaded $20 into a card, $8 were taken for the monthly maintenance fee, ok fair enough, I go to use my card that the website said I had $12 on, it wouldn't work, so I call customer service to ask why it's not working and the phone line tells me my card is NEGATIVE $6, didn't even know these card could go negative, not a true prepaid card, they are currently destroying my credit and racking up tons of money that i supposedly owe them.
If your just a regular ol joe with a low income dont use this. I couldn't use it at any atm. They gave me different stories. Nobody speaks english. Takes half an hour to speak with someone. Please dont do it just because its convenient. I've got over a thousand dollars I cannot get off this card and they cant figure out why it wont work. So I'm having to go to Walmart and do cashback and buy something for each one hundred dollars I do a cashback. Just support your local bank an pay off your debts. It will be worth it.
Horrible the *******597 automated help line require your SS#. Hey if you are stupid enough to give that out to a company that has no real people to tale to you deserve what you get. You enter card information and it tell you the card number is not valid.
Purchase this card if you like throwing your money away.
Basically worthless, can not use for anything, plus they charge you 5.00 to add on money to card. By time you are done paying fees and other charges your not able to get your purchase. Illegal
My payday is today and my job posted my payday and yet GreenDot is saying that they haven't even received it. Isn't it supposed to be two days earlier or am I going to wait forever

I strached out some of the numbers on back of card accidentally. It have been four months ago, my money is STILL tied up on this card I've given all type of my personal information thinking this is needed to get my money back, it didn't help. When I did get through to a live person they told me call WALMART. I purchased THEIR card from WALGREENS. My MONEY IS STILL TIED UP ON THIS CARD. IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY PLEASE RUN.
Worst bank ever my card was stolen and used for Redbox and online purchases I called and reported my card stolen waited 11 days just to hear they wouldn't return my funds stay far away if you value your money
This card makes it hard to register, hard to collect funds, or use funds to pay! Do not use! You are encouraged to get app on phone but it helps little. Ask for online help? Forget that! And if you call, automative answer directs you to website. Vicious circle.
Had the card 1 month had to call customer service every week they must read off a page cause they never knew what to just repeat what's on the page
I've had greendot for well over a year now and I love it. I get my direct deposits next day, sometimes same day. Low to no fees. They have a convenient easy to use app that sends the notifications I need. The couple of times I did contact customer service, the replied promptly and with detailed help. If you're looking for a great online bank, I highly recommend greendot.
Ive been trying to access my account for more than an hour these $#*!s dont even have a customer service teller and when i tried to buy something itll jus decline it $#*!ing piece of $#*! dollar tree pre paid card my $#*! shoulda known better we jus took the biggest L stg
STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD. IT IS A RIP OFF. CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO. AND A MONTHLY FEE. THEY BLEED YOU OF YOUR FUNDS! IT'S A SCAM!
Greendot is amazing as direct deposit when you don't have a bank. It helps us pay our bills, use as a debit and we are even able to store 5k on our account that's seperatefrom the card called the vault. We get to view all of our statements too, going back as long as you have had the card. Never had any issues.
So awesome So easy to use when my coworkers are waiting on there check or direct deposit I receive my money 2 days in advance
Who did they pay to write those positive reviews? I loaded funds and havent been able to use the card unless I open an account like a regular bank with total online strangers, provide social security number, etc, mwanwhile they have no form of contact except a phone recording and chatroom. It would be dumb to guive those phantom thieves personal info.

I was given a Green Dot Debit card as a thank you gift. When I attempted to register the card, in order to do so I was asked to provide a lot of person information, including my SSAN and other personal info as well as agree to allow this information be shared for marketing purposes; agree to receive marketing phone calls & emails; and agree to pay a monthly $7.95 fee unless I loaded $1000. 00 or more during the previous month. When I and the individual who gifted me this card attempted to speak with a live customer service representative on their phone system... are you kidding me, it hung up on us. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD AND GREEN DOT PERIOD. THIS IS A BULL$#*! MONEY MAKER OR THEM AND A REAL LOSER FOR THE CONSUMER... BUYER BEWARE
You should not have this big issue when they take your money at the store what you won't desposted but now you can't use it
Fantastic service for me and best customer service when I need help. Like option to earn rewards when shopping and to stash money on my account to use when I need it. Logging in is a breeze and they take security seriously. If I log in from a different device they send me a code to verify it's me!
Answer: No This is a prepaid debit card that keeps your money for a few wweeks to deny access
