I MADE A SIMPLE $89 DEPOSIT AND GREEN DOT NEVER POSTED IT... SO I TOLD WALMART I HAVE THE RECEIPT AND TO REFUND ME MY MONEY AND THEY COULD NOT. Purchased the card to pay for online payments for facebook promos without using my credit card. Facebook says the card is not legitimate.
Can't return card. Can't use card. Can't contact issuer. Someone should be going to prison.
The only thing good about this bank is t if e interest rates but they are so difficult to do business with the 3% interest rate is not worth it. Dont put your money here.
I had a problem because a child putting the wrong information on the internet for the card when I try to get my money back I was ran around in every direction you can imagine I finally got $35 back out of 50 which they were stating that it was used but how could it have been used when it wasn't available RIP OFF do not use this bank at all
They have taken money out of my account more than once and refuse to resolve the matter. They add additional fees but do not list it on your account records. They will find any reason to keep your money or blame it on the merchant. They will pretend they don't understand you or some dumb reason why you are missing money.
Green Card is posing as a gift card and being sold alongside the gift cards. However, unlike a gift card they will begin charging monthly fees and take all the money unless you go online and give them your cell phone and social security number, and email. Sounds like dark web to me.
We won two gift cards at a football game. Correction, we THOUGHT we had one too gift cards. What we actually got we're two $20 cards each and when we try to go spend the $20 there was only $10.05 available go figure they charge $9.95 just to start with the account. If we hadn't both one we wouldn't have twenty bucks!
This is a total scam company. I had a measly $25 gift card that someone gave me. I never used it because they make you jump through hoops to even do so by creating an online account and all this other crap. Then found out today it had a -$15.90 balance from fees! So they charged $40.90 in fees on the card while it sat unused for a couple of years! NEVER NEVER NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING! CON ARTISTS!
Today I made a $90.49 deposit in my Greendot account today to make a purchase online for the above amount. I was declined because Greendot took out $46.80 in fees, so I had to return and add the $46.80 plus the plus the fees to upload into my account twice. I cancelled the card after I made my purchase. THINK BEFORE YOU USE!
I hope everyone at green dots dies because they can't afford to eat they're worthless green dot should die what worthless $#*! makes a prepaid card that goes into over draft

I'm still not sure why someone would want this card. It should not be used as a gift card- they charge 9.95/ month and 4.95 to add money. Once purchased you can never get your money back. They take 9.95 off the top once opened. Customer service will not help you now every give you a refund. Such a waste of money
Don't buy greendot if you're just looking to give a relative like $20 or $30 for their birthday or holidays. Greendot will start taking away $5.95 per month if they just hang on to it and don't use it or register it. To register you have to give greendot your social security # and other very personal information (because the card is equivalent to having a bank account basically; it's not a gift card). The site is scammy as all get out with fake, "You've qualified for a free upgrade!" type spam. Once you register the card, they charge a $5.95 fee every month so yeah, really bad idea as a gift-card for someone. Don't do it! If you just need to cash your check, just pay walmart the 3 bucks.
It is the worse place ever! I open an account and transfered money. It was taking to long for the money to be available. I tryed to cancel the transaction but it was impossible. So i close the account. But then thensfer went through. That was a month ago. I'm still wating for my money. They don't email you or mail you. I sent them several emails and every response from them is that i will get my money in two weeks. Its been a month and im still waiting. Do not open an account! You will be so frustrated and mad!
If you are using it to refill the service on your phone not only can you not add it because of the internet, even if you can find a place with internet your still screwed cuz they send a link to your phone. And talkiing to a real person? HAHAHAHAHAHH nope. Seven times. Each time i chose another option. I chose them all. I even prenteded i didnt know what my number by typing random stuff in there so theyd come on and help. Again... NOPE! What would happen if a real problem arose? Netspend may be like 50 cents more but its worth it
I thought I was putting money on a gift card. They want way to much info about you including SSN! They want the right to hard you by email, phone or text. You cannot get in touch with anyone. I tried to chat on line and they cut me off. I'm out of $20! I'm going to Walmart mgmy to complain about them.
BUT U CAN BEST BELIEVE I find out that these people playing with my light bill money it's going to be a problem the land Lord that I rent from used to be state attorney and he is still in practice and still has his license I am pretty sure that he would jump at this chance they have stolen from me and he already done told me that I am a good tenant I am not just only will be going after the money that was fraudulently stolen from me I am going for more than that
