We can not get anyone with the authority to over ride their system.
On hold for 1:25 hours on one call. They just pass you around to another person, that also has no authority. While they all do make apologizes and say sorry for the inconvenience as if they are all reading this from a script. Even got kicked up to speak with the Corporate Resolutions Team.
They kept asking us for or bank account number, personal address, phone numbers, full social security number, date of birth and so on. Although they would not tell us the bank's address. Just that they not in America.
We've noticed many other people in the same situation.

We have contacted Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. We are arranging for Proof of Service to serve a law suit to Mr. Dan Henry President and Amit Parikh Executive Vice President, although the address in Pasadena is a vacant building. This Office space is available for lease. The Better Business Bureau is using a PO box as their bank address.
Their corporate resolution team wants a letter of indemnity from the payroll processing company that my employers uses to hold green dot bank harmless an agree not to sue. This is not an option they will do for us, besides our lawyer advises not to waive this right. Counsel agrees with us, that the mistake they made that is blocking access to our money in our accounts is cause for action legally.
If anyone wants to join this suit please reply. The attorney said there is no cost to you to join our suit.
I am trying to help an employee get his payroll money back from Green Dot. They told him his card was on fraud lock and since closed his account. Now, depending who you get on the phone its an identity issue or back to the fictitious deposits. His payroll has been deposited the same way since he has used Green Dot and has had no other deposits. We have spent hours calling to be hung up on or transferred again and again. They also say call corporate just to get a number that goes no where. How convenient to close his account so they can not do a reversal. Their English is very bad and hard to understand what they are saying as well as they have a hard time understanding us.
Wish I could give 0 stars. I received one of the green dot cards as a gift with $25 on it. The day after I register it, they charge an 7.95 fee wtf? I don't plan on ever reloading it or using any of there services, I only want my gift. They just stole $7.95. They should only charge their stupid monthly fee if you decide to reload it, and use it as a real card. They automatically send you another card with you name printed on it after you register it. Like I ever wanted that, I already have a bank, and they don't charge no monthly fee. I just want my $25. Smh what ever you do do not use green dot. They should never take the monthly fee out of the initital loaded amount.

This is me showing you guys how ignorant green dot is these guys are the worst I mean the most absolute worst telephone communicators they are the worst when it comes to building every relationship with every customer I will sit there and yell and scream in their freaking ears! Where is my $340 and explain to them and every detail in perfect explanation and the only response I get is thank you sir I am very sorry for that I mean dude stop telling me thank you for something I don't want to be thanked for I want you to fix the solution my money has been taken by a Company I don't even know who is and you're going to sit there and tell me thank you that's it I am done with green dot! I am so so done with green dot and when I told them that their response was thank you is there anything else I can do for you? Sure there is you can put it where the sun don't shine I'm done
These people are so dishonest. I don't understand how they are in business. I'm calling everyone in my state to find out how to get them investigating this company. Watch your money closer then ever. Someone in that company is taking money out of my account for purchases I made a week prior but paid for the week before. I watched them take the money out of my account for an Amazon order they took the money out of my account and I even got confirmation from Amazon saying they got the payment. But then 5 days later after I already received my order I just happened to be looking at my transactions and seen them take the same amount out again after I already got my order. The transaction from the first amount didn't even show up on my account but I have all the proof that they took it out. I will not stop until the federal banking authority looks into this bank. I can't get any help because no one speaks English but they have things designed like that for a reason. They leave you exhausted from the frustration of trying to get your money.
I purchased a pre paid card so I would have a card to load money on for road trips. I was told I would receive a personal card in the mail shortly after. After 3 months with no sign of a personal card I called in and had a second one sent out... That also had not arrived 6 months later... Meanwhile I am about to go out of town and I load the card up with money... Well I forgot my pin since I last used it and am informed that I am unable to change it because I dont have a personal card... I ask if they had record of the card being sent and I was put on a 15 min hold and then transfered. After giving up all my info again and explaining that I should have had 2 personal cards but neither made it despite being sent to the address on file. I ask for a supervisor... Another 15 min hold and now I get connected to the worst line I have heard since dial up. After a few minutes threw the broken English and broken phone line I determine this individual is in fact not a supervisor! At this point im very upset and tell him i need a supervisor on the line now. And he wants me to give up my info again to get connected... Now I am quite mad as he puts me on hold and the line DISCONNECTS shortly after. I then call back and try to explain the problem and asking for a supervisor AGAIN. The line that was perfectly clear before goes dead silent the moment a bring up supervisor. I keep asking if Sarah can hear me. When I said can you hear me I need a supervisor to cancel this card... SHE disconnected the line. Im done never use this company. They are charging me monthly and cant even send a card out over a 9 month period. I'm going to have to go online and manually cancel my own card. This was a nightmare.
I received a card as a gift and I can not use it. I have called customer service and they said they can only speak to the card holder. HELLO! I'm the card holder! He said I need to use this card to purchase a new card and activate it under my name. I can't use it because they will not activate it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!
Got this card to buy penny stocks but the card won't let me use my money to buy what I want. DO NOT BUY
It will not let me register the card that i just bought. It tells me that my card number is invalid.
Started using them when I started my job, I liked that their thing was you would get your direct deposit 2 days early. However I've learned not to count on it because it shows at random times no rhyme or reason. They recently started offering overdraft protection but arbitrarily suspend it on you. Customer service is a mess, you often get someone who disconnects you or really can't help - massive overseas call center I assume. I'm not thrilled and will probably switch.
Green dot has screwed me over for the very last time. They will never get another nickel of my money
Might as well throw the money you put on this card out the car window! You will get better results! I'll never recommend this card! They suck more than a two dollar hooker on the street...
Needlessly charges hidden fees and lies to users about the features of the bank account stole 45 dollars from me without warning and customer service is virtually nonexistent please avoid this bank at all costs.
These people are a nightmare. Reported fraud and they don't care all the while I can't get my Mom's money out because of the person who I reported added another card using my Mother's info and changed all info. My mom has Alzheimer's and these people are asking to speak with her when she can no longer speak... TOTAL INCOMPETENCE! I've been told so many stories including supposedly escalating my claim to the corporate level and would get a call within 48 hours... it's now a week later! Today's call, suggested they would put my incapacitated mother on a relay call to authorize... again PURE INCOMPETENCE!
On the card it tells you the only way to register your card is online so you must first have equipment and a firm understanding of electronics to use the card which I do, but every time i enter the website number is says there is no such website. So I searched for a greendot home page which i found, it also has a a register button you may press but when you press it, they take you to another page where you apply for a credit card and you must give them your credit information.
Avoid green dot unless you like being charged a fee on every purchase even online & like having a 3000 month teller withdrawal or atm withdrawal fee a MONTH which in other words like your money being dished out to you. To avoid problems avoid green dot at all cost
I been using green dot for a good while now about 5 years so they gotten plenty of money from me. I finally was able to apply for overdraft protection where I can overdraft my account up too $200
First off they don't allow you too withdraw that money and can only be used for purchases. Ok that's obviously a ploy so they can get you for 15$ every small purchase you make. So I was reluctant to try it out cause I really needed the money but I knew I was going to do grub hub that same day to pay it off
Well I made 3 transcrations totaling 140 dollars. I had to do it cause I needed gas to fill up my car. I had to pay for my phone service and get some food too. I knew I was gonna pay it all back in one day tho doing grub hub so I wasn't too worried getting charged.
That day I made 146 dollars doing grub hub and did the instant cash out so the money was right there but it just needed to be approved first cause green dot doesn't offer real time banking deposit or whatever it's called. Convenient for them right?
Because they $#*!en waited more than 24 hours to process the deposit so they can process the overdraft fees first and damn right I got hit up with 45 dollars total for overdraft fees even tho I had the money put in my account it just needed to be approvedby them.
I was hoping they would by good faith see that I made an effort to pay the money back right away and not charge me the overdraft fees. It was under 24 hours when I did the instant cash out from grub hub so they shouldn't of charged me the over draft fees! Or atleast charge me just once. They are just being greedy!
After this experience I am done with green dot. They are not a good company and will charge you bs fees whenever they have a chance! I been a customer for 5 years and this is how they repay me? Yep as soon as I get my first check deposited into my account from my new job at Amazon I will take that money and open a new bank account elsewhere.
Green dot has lost my business unless they wanna fix this then I will continue to use green dot. If not well their loss!
My account was hacked, by a person posing as an Uber agent, this agent, along with an agent from GoBank took all my money out of the GoBank acount without any problem. I followed all asked procedures regarding verification, sent all photo copies of transactions, this was sent to the refund request department, along with the "account take over" department, twice. I have been on hold up to 2 hours at a time when I request to speak to a supervisor and this is every time I call, I call at least twice a week. The agents who initially answer the customer service line, dont know anything... and when a supervisor does answer, its the same, nothing?
Always have some "excuse" as to why it has not been resolved. My case has gone over 45 days, which I was told it would take and still, there is an excuse as to why I still have not received my money of over, the amount taken is over $1420. 00. I need to know what options I have... this is too much money so easily taken from the account.
This is the worst pre paid card service known to man. I would never recommend this card to anyone! The customer service is horrible. What card company you have to text with inquiries? And then sent scripts for answers. The site half way work. I that any green dot card should be linked to your account if it is an actual account. Not. It is not an actual account. They can remove your money at any given time if you owe for a new card but you have no access to it at all. This is definitely not a regular checking account. Why put it as a checking account. They would not give me back my paycheck. My card was stolen and they said I had to wait on a new card. The new card(s) 3x never reached me. I had to pay 5$ for each card mailed to me that I NEVER received. Ha! Then I had it expedited and had to pay an additional 15$ and another $5 for ANOTHER card. Then they I asked how long is production. They has no answer. So I pay for 3-5 days by fedex for 7-9 the same as standard shipping. What a rip off!
Tried to file a scam report on their website. I hit transmit and it says "sorry we cannot process your report at his time". And That's it!
Answer: No This is a prepaid debit card that keeps your money for a few wweeks to deny access
