I received a card as a Christmas gift and before I could even use it they took $7.95 from me as a monthly fee. I didn't get the Chance to even use it before they took money from me. Don't use greendot at all. They are horrible people and just take money from you! Don't use it!

Very disappointed

I live in a personal care home where I receive assistance with living so I only receive so much money every month and sometimes I like to shop Amazon online and the last card I purchased I was unable to activate right away after hours of trying to activate it I finally got to order something for a couple family members and only one order went through the other I was told I had insufficient funds after spending less then half of what I had on the card. And I was unable to use the card again for weeks and when I did get a response of my Ballance they said I only had 2$ remaining on my card. So I tried to order a cheap ring off eBay for a dollar 99 and I never received the money back nor the order! And here I'm giving this company my SSN every time I purchase a card so who knows if anyone else is getting my SSN. What's the deal green dot how much money have you stolen or should you be called green bandits ps I do have receipts and screenshots for the appropriate time!

The worst cad every
December 22, 2021

Well first off you have to pay to put money on it and if you withdrew mony you have to pay green and the ATM. To top things off if you rent a hotel and use there card just for a down payment that gets refund to you green dot holds on to your money almost three weeks after you are refunded. Just thing how many people that they hold there money and how much interest they make bye doing that

Yeah. Don't use this company. They have hidden charges and take your money... They charge you a monthly fee after telling you that you will not be hit with any fee's. Beware of this company. Walmart needs to drop this company...

Let someone steal money off my card within one day and then refused to stop it canceled my card but now they're saying that I'll get my money by a check last time took eight months right before Christmas really nice

Steal money
December 16, 2021

Couple of months ago there was a transaction that was un-authorized put through, did a dispute and had no access to card just recieved a letter saying dispute was cleared and money was reinbust back to the card now i have been blocked and restricted to use the card. So green dot has stolen money from me now and wont release the money... this company is bad AND they dont care or can give u no straight answers on why... DONT USE GREEN DOT EVER WORST COMPANY THEY WONT GIVE U MONEY BACK CAUSE OF THERE DUMB SUSPICIONS

My stolen green dot card

Please people listen up before you consider green dot for your banking needs you need to know they do not honor their word and they do not protect your money. My wallet with all my cards and id and such was stolen and they used my card without my consent or knowledge I filed a police report and sent a the info to green dot and my dispute was denied why? I don't know how they can deny it the facts was sent to them they also tried to settle my dispute without any of the info they asked for I'm pissed and green dot sucks any ideas on what to do about this besides hiring an attorney?

The customer service representatives are rude, disrespectful, non-compliant and are paid to do a disservice to customers. It is poorly managed and disorganized. I have called multiple times for the same issue and it is still yet to be resolved. My best advice to any perspective client, is to not do business with this company under any circumstances. They should be put out of business as they are whole, and in part, a bunch of irreputable scammers.

Don't use green that I bought a green dot card to use to pay my bill on a certain day I tried they told me I need to wait to two days before I can spend $20 please do not buy their cards you will be sucking into waiting for a couple of days to use your money I never heard of nothing like this in my life please don't use greendot.com please don't use green dot money please I'm telling you you're gonna wait to use your money And they would not change it back I actually had to wait two days do use $20 stay away from green dot prepaid card I am very hurt over this

Loaded 200 dollars plus 4.95 for transaction fee. 3 months later I am asking customer service where is my Check I was told would be in the mail 2 weeks ago that was three months ago. I am told several different reasons or solutions -like go back to the 7-11 to get your refund or my favorite I just am hung up on! I'm irate with the customer service! I don't see how it is that this company still exists! Look at all the negative reviews! Let's start a class action lawsuit against greent dot because the dots of our green is definitely filling their pockets! This is a FEDERAL CRIME! Shame on you green dot. You are going down for this crap. My email is *******@gmail.com for all who are willing to sue these crooks who's with me? Drop me an email -think of how many millions of dollars they are stealing from us -you-hard workers parents students elderly little kids waiting on that card from grandma this is unacceptable and it's got to stop let's put a stop to it every day this goes on more people are ripped off think about it better let's act on it let's not write more reviews let's take this criminals down

Green dot suspious activity done by them

I received a phone call from Green Dot yesterday 1-6-2022 and this disrespectful $#*! of a man was over talking me didn't even get past my address and he's already talking s***. These card people just think were going to put up with them stealing our money and I'm so tired of it and check this out I went to look for my history of transactions before the turn of the year and of course, printed out months and they're gone trying to cover they're F ups. They had a lot of write off's on my transactions then trying to cover up their suspicious activities and blame me for the $#*! I still haven't gotten my money and really want to sue them i just need more people to get with an attorney and sue them for real I mean there has to be some attorney that wants to help us their stealing OUR money and we can't do $#*! about it well now to the federal trade commission. And yes i do have that conversation taped just as they fell they want to tape us get a recorder on you phone and the idiot hung up on me how professional rwelling me he cant hear me which was b. S

You can't get YOUR money when you want. They say You can withdraw $3000 from a bank but don't tell you it at $1000 increments so they can charge you a fee with each amount. $500 from an ATM but you also can't do that. FRAUDULENT practices at it's finest. BBB will hear about you & your fraudulent practices. DO NOT DO ANY BANKING WITH THEM?

They hold you money and give you excuses when they already have your information then they say they send your card out and don't so you only pay for items online like they get a kick back instead of letting you withdraw cash you can't receive any cash from the virtual card this is a horrible bank

Don't waste your Time!

I've never in my life been so frustrated! Firstly they ask for 400 different ways to verify your identity, once that's completed they change a monthly fee day 1, I wanted to use the card for a vending machine in my complex, they locked the card every 3 transactions, after 400 more security questions they would tell me they don't see the card being locked and to try again, the card would stay locked for a day or sometimes 3 days no one in customer service knew why, at the end I just left the last $11 on the card and threw it away. Trust me there are other pre paid cards that with no fees and less complications!

Please don't ever get a green dot card! EVER! These people take your money, act like they are resolving your issue and never do! My card was declined the day before thanksgiving an they told me they will resolve the issue in a hour to try again and still it wasn't fixed a week later I'm still not able to buy food! They are no good! NO GOOD! I wish I can give them a negative star

No closing account notice

On November 10th I went to use my debit card at 2 locations was declined. I've had a card for 4 years never had a problem until now. I called green dot was told my account was closed it had a balance of 2000. 00 They told me they notified me they were closing it. Comlete lie. I never received a notice or reason why. I was told my refund of 2000. 00 would be sent to me in 30 days but could not tell me when it would be sent. L use this card to pay bills and take care of my handicapped wife and son. Lousy holidays thanks to these non English speaking people. Steve Harvey I thought you were a good person, but to represent this company you have low standards. I hope you have a good holidays my family won't.

They keep your money
November 24, 2021

I closed my account on September 14,2021 and I have yet to get a refund check for the remaining balance in my account. I have called and called and called and called again and still no results. I have filed complaints with the Federal Reserve Bank and the Consumer Financial Corp and still no check.
