Disastrously mishandled situation
Have asked numerous time since January for a 100$ refund... repeatedly told check is in the mail.
It's near the end of August, still no refund on card that I told them I needed to cancel. Was told to use the balance - which would've been grand IF the pin didn't stop working.
Never again
And I'd tell anyone else to find another way

And to day no one on their side has realized there's 100$ that's not theirs sitting somewhere... the account was closed, the card doesn't work, I've contacted them several times and am told the same thing. If you do use Green Dot... get ready
You'll have to stay on top of transactions, balances, and what ever else.

Use to be good

Well I had this card for 3 years the first 2 we're good then JOE BIDEN took over and now you guys have all these fees and the worst thing that you guys are doing is definitely RIPPING PEOPLE OFF I'll explain say if you purchase something for $2.50and it overdrafts your account so your negative $-2.50 if you don't pay that within 24HRS THEY TACK ON A $15 FEE so say if you have a $200 over draft projection on your account and it just happens to be bill day say one for $3.00 and one for $5.00 well if you do NOT PAY THE $3.00 OR THE $5 THEY WILL GIVE you separate INDIVIDUAL $15 OVERDRAFT FEES SO on top the $3 and the $5! Now you gotta pay $15 fee

So not this card is horrible now it was never live this so after I pay a few bill I am cutting the card up and going with CREDIT KARMA DEBIT CARD!

If I could give them zero Stars I would my complaint with Green Dot is somehow my information was hacked on the online I called Green Dot to dispute the charges I filed with the police repor
and for somehow Some Way Green Dot said that they was closing down my account sending me a card and they were sending me a letter that I could fill out dispute charges they never sent out the letter I called them back 2 weeks later they said I have to write a letter to them and mail it and then it will take 45 days for them to dispute the charges i asked him to repeat wat

Which i did not now at the time the site was not secure i did my own investigation to find out how this could of happened my problem is he told me to take him off speaker and I told him I was recording him he said don't record him or he's going to hang up and I said no this is for my own proof because you guys all been lying to me and now I have proof of what you're saying and this is not a good bank to bank at and he hung up in my face

Worst Experience!

I needed to pay a bill fast with cash. So I went to CVS and purchased a pre paid visa... Mistake...
The bill was a small installment payment... no big deal right! WRONG... They want the FBI. CIA. Drivers License ( no problem) and then 48 hours until you can use Your Money! Now I gotta wait two weeks to be mailed a refund check! They don't put that on there packaging! It should read 48 hour CIA Background Check to pay your little 37 dollar tiny bill!... No Thank You... Disclosure is a Must!

Not good at all

This card is no good when it comes to fraud they don't protect your money and when u filed a dispute it takes 10 business plus after all those days they took 2 more weeks to verified me after I been having this card for over 5 years to give me the run around and I'm not talking about a little bit of money was taking it was 1,000 dollars. They don't work fast to help u they take their time and will have all your money jam up. And still waiting for a check in the mail after they verify u and don't relize why will u trust to send documents that's your personal business after u in a situation like this. So if u looking for a good prepaid card this one is not the one for anyone promised.

This service sucks bad. I tried logging on it wouldn't let me look at my transactions. Customer service is rude. This card sucks all the way around. You have to be very stupid if you get a Green Dot card.

Scam

This company is a total scam! I got a loadable card and they activated my card confirmed the money was there I went to use the card within an hour and the card declined I called again amd got hung up on twice and then told the money was spent and there was now a zero balance on the card not to mention somehow it got registered to someone else in that time as well. This was a brand new put of the package card that only left my hands to purchase it. There was no way. Then I filed a fraud claim and they denied me and said to contact police. I did and a lawyer because this $#*! is crazy. Oh and come to find out there is more then one class action lawsuit against them.

Green Dot is the most famous medium for scammers! It is soo easy for scammers to use this company and when you report this to the company, they do absolutely nothing. My husband was scammed for $500 and Green Dot was used to do this scamming. We called the company and there was no resolution. I will not be surprised if Green Dot is somehow associated with scammers to deceive people. Run from them

Horrible!

If you make a mistake on your name on the online registration you have no way to change it and they won't allow you to use your card online! Put $420 on a card to order online and can't even use the damn thing. Have to wait two weeks for a damn refund. Glad I didn't need the online purchase asap! You suck $#*! Greendot!

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I bought the card because the packaging says you can make international transactions for a small fee. After receiving my permanent card I tried to make an international payment and it was denied. They told me they don't allow that regardless of what the package says. It also states that the monthly fee will not be taken out until after the first use. However they took mine out immediately even though I had never used the card. I told them that the packaging is false advertisement and grounds for a law suit. I demanded the fee they took out be put back in. It took a lot of arguing and threatening to sue before they agreed to wave the monthly fee. I will still have to pay the ATM fee to get my money out though. Please do not use this company for anything. You can't even call them. If you try it says "our customer service is unavailable" no matter when you call. I had to use the chat service but even that is difficult. They end the chat before ever answering you 90% of the time!

Caveat Emptor

This insidious bank has taken 8 weeks to provide me with a credit card eBay scam refund. I have sent, resent and resent all documents they required. This is the worst bank in FDIC network. Offshore employees are ignorant, arrogant and just hand up in people. I have reported them to BBB where they have 8000 cases of complaints. Do not buy their credit cards unless you want to lose your money. I even sent a complaint to FTC on them. Stay away from these thieves.

According to the GreenDot policy they say if you return the card and close it you can get the monthly fee back. I read that to the customer service representative and she must have been very uneducated especially not even from the United States. I READ THE LITERAL CARDHOLDER AGREEMENT and she was like "oh I need to make sure this is true" would come back and tell me its not true when it was right in front of my face. Do not go with this company or give them your business. CLEARLY THEY DONT RESPECT THE CARDHOLDER AGREEMENT.

MY money.

I have literally been contacting customer service for over a YEAR to get $64.34 out of MY OWN account. Green Dot asked for ID, I provided my ID. They asked for proof of address, I provided a paycheck stub. I also (just to be extra) provided a copy of my W2 Buuuut that still was not enough. Green Dot explained to me that they can NOT release my $65.34 to ME due to not being able to provide them with a utility bill. A UTILITY BILL?! Are you serious? I have given them my social, my Drivers license, my W2, my paycheck stubs. A utility bill? So I politely asked if I could send them my car note. NOPE. They said nope! I then requested the customer service phone number and the customer service agent then ignored me for an hour. Very unprofessional. Do NOT USE GREEN DOT. IT IS A SCAM!

Not supported by agents that work for your company. Hung up on twice transferred around for an hour. I was helped in my matter before but not with these laddie's,

Grace- refused to give a ID number

With the foreign accent not much you can disguise. I truly believe was the same person!

I have been a loyal customer for years and not even worth the time and money invested. I have a lot of people I told about this Greendot. Looks like a review is necessary and fair for those whom may be looking for a much better trustworthy account holders.

Can't believe I have been with y'all for years now and y'all help once or twice then act as if it's never been done. The back room are agents that can assist with pending charges, but are told not to be directed or else. Agents look to make the share by avoiding use of the background back room specialist.

Even telling them the Emergancy situation I was in they cared less and hear them talking amongst each other. I recorded the call, so I can have proof in case of legal action when they could have assisted me like before. 07/4/22
