Late told me to wait until 5am when the fraud department opens to hav my blocked taken off my account did tht got no answer until 8:19 am, then was told again tht they could, my call got transferred then it went to we can send a check they hav held my $400 for 2years n still hav not got check & ppl on phone spoke broken English all of them

I got this card for my mother who does not have a bank account, was charged $10 as a fee that apparently will be recurring, and on top of that i cannot transfer money to the card as it implies i would have been able to. I contacted support to see if i could up date the information on the card to make the transfer of funds possible and they basically said "nope." which renders this card not only utterly useless but also a huge waste of my money. Do yourself a favor and buy any card BUT Green Dot.

Monthly fees

I bought a card placed 20 on it spent 5 and they took 7.95 off the SAME DAY I BOUGHT IT! I called c. S., was hung up on once, called back and they still wont give me the 7.95 back! Dont use them it is a legal scam!

Why do I have to speak to a person/customer service rep out of country? Why do they see my information such as my Social Security Number, my address? Why can't Green Dot Bank have an American support system that would benefit the product as well as give us as customer a practical way of communicating our issues? Why do we have to speak to a rep we all know lacks the proper credentials to help us? Why because of the cheap pay in India and Pakistan? Why when I try to speak to Green dot bank corporate office on the internet are there not avenue's to resolve issues? As your out of country people are there to make sure we are blocked and not given the proper tools to fix an issue? Just too many Why's but why?

I have been loyal customer over 7 years $8 month for them to close my account without warning hold my money and keep resending me new cards having to wait wks at a time then every day on phone with cooperate them not fix this still have my money is crap. I can't believe this.im calling federal bureau here is n Colorado reporting them

Deceptive Practices

My elderly mother purchased a Green Dot card for me for my birthday. She was informed it was the same as a gift card and is sold with other gift cards in the local Kroger store. Upon attempting to use the card I discovered it was only accessible if an account is set up, which required sharing confidential information including social security number, and there is a charge if there is not a minimum deposit each month. I have no need for such a card nor do I want to share confidential information with an business I am unfamiliar with. I attempted to get the issue resolved directly with the organization and, after they twice ended a chat mid conversation, they said there was nothing they could do, the money would be lost if I did not disclose private information. It is only $50 - however is a matter of principle for deceptive practices.

Warning DO NOT USE THIS BANK AS THEY ARE A LEGAL SCAM PERIOD! They have also started 2 sub banks to try and hide their dishonest practices. Gobank (closed down) and Go2bank. Green dot and Go2bank are worse banks next to Russian Banks and ill even bet Russians banks are better than these bs banks. Every employee is over seas and can hardly speak English and could care less if you understand them. Steer clear of these banks as they are the worse, ever, in every aspect of customer service. The prey on people with weak credit and people who can't get a regular bank account. These companies are preditors and have no problem ripping u off with out offering you any lube as they F you. How do they get away with it you ask? By supporting the other thieves in Washington. Rediculace 100%

I have been trying to get my tax refund, since April 2022.
I have been given the run around, been lied to, mislead and totally disrespected!
Noone has helped me. And they are refusing to give me my hard earned money... you can never speak with anyone and after 5 months, I will have to get an attorney to recoup my refund
One lawyer I spoke qith mentioned a Class Action suit against this company

Green dot doesn't protect it's customers or give you adequate answers in an Emergency! All my personal account / login passwords, pin numbers email's etc. were changed today without my consent. I've gotten hung up on 3 times by Green dot when I began to ask? S they out me on hold for very long, and then hang up!

We recently switched to QB online. Apparently, in all the terms, there is something about accepting Green Dot as the default bank account for funds to be deposited. I can't actually confirm this because I don't know where to find this permission. Further, it appears from the bank screen of our QB that it is in fact a QB account, not an outside entity (see screenshot). In any case, after nearly an hour on the phone with a QB rep last night, we were able to redirect our future deposits to our actual business bank account. Green Dot already took significant processing fees from our deposit and now we have to try to figure out how to withdraw our remaining funds and have them deposited to our business bank account. QB is unable to assist as Green Dot is an outside bank. At first glance, the debit card appears to be issued from QB and I (wrongly) assumed that it was just a QB Intuit perk but had no expectation that I would utilize it. We all get a ton of credit offers that end up in the garbage or bottom drawer somewhere. Well, if you ZOOM in on the fine light grey line on the back, and use a magnifier, you can see that this is ACTUALLY a Green Dot card in Intuit clothes. I would push for fraudulent misrepresentation but what's the point? If anyone does end up launching a class action against them, please feel free to contact me - business name is printed on card, just Google us.

I was expecting $30.00 on my card. Instead got $14.00 instead. Decided to contact the employees there, No help at all. Just done with green dot.

I reported a unauthorized transaction on my account and disputed it. Over a month later I still have not received my money back not even a provisional credit. They are past the original 10 business days a manager promised me a resolution on and refuse to provide even a provisional credit but keep forcing me to give them more time for research. I reached out to the merchant where the charge came from as well and explained that the purchase was unauthorized and they cancelled the order and refunded the money back to the bank and provided a cancellation number which I also explained and provided to the bank and they are still refusing to give me my money back. You can never talk to a supervisor right then and there they always have to do a callback and the ivr system is trash. You finally get through and the agents are also trash no one can answer your questions with a straight answer and honestly this whole bank is a joke. They are not even accredited with the BBB. Wish I would have did my research before joining this bank. Do yourself a favor stay away and just get a real bank that way your money is protected and guaranteed unlike at greendot.

Terrible company

When you are gifted a gift card you have no choice but to register this stupid card with a Social Security number and to look at all the dumb terms. Again this is supposed to be a gift card so you shouldn't have to maintain a minimum balance on any account. I believe this is a very fraudulent company. Anyway my child got this gift card and we registered because we had to And we kind of forgot about it for two years. We just looked up the account and it is in a negative balance. Basically this company just stole $60 plus more from my daughter. Again I can't stress how much of a terrible company this is. I called and canceled the account, which they did but when I asked that $60 is gone they said yes so they do nothing to try and fix it.

Worst company ever
August 30, 2022

Purchased card on a Friday, unable to activate it properly. Told to call invisible number on back of card. Chatted with a machine, told to call help number. Would only help if I log in, this is what I needed help with, refered back to chat. Told I would be contacted with in 24 hours. That was Sunday, now Tuesday morning and nothing. No way to contact real person. They have my money no way to retrieve it. Going to call NY state consumer affairs and NY stock exchange about problem with there books. Never buy one of there cards under any circumstances. Put proof on here so they can cover it up no way will talk with a real person first.
