THIS BANK IS ABSOLUTE BULL$#*! DO NOT WAST YOUR TIME ALMOST TWO HOURS ON THE OHONE AFTER BEING HUNG UP ON AND THEN BEING TOLD I COULDNT BE TRANSFERRED I WILLBE CLOSING MY ACCOUNT.
Put a 100$ on a green dot and have spent weeks trying to get it activated. Web site did not work correctly and now I am getting text message from them telling me they need a copy of my driver's certificate. Now of these requirements are on the card or container the card came in. Funny, they took my money with out a driver certificate. I have no hope of ever seeing my money and I will tell every one to stay away from the Green Dot.
Loaded cash on new card. Initial use was ok, but tried to reload and use and the declines stacked up. Their customer service agents are $#*! clowns and there appears to be no record history so you start afresh every time. Might as well burn your money cause you aint getting it out of these asses.
Someone got in my greendot without my OTP and changed all the login details. I wouldn't even rate this app 1 star if I had the opportunity because it sucks so bad
I filed a dispute against a merchant and the merchant released the money back to green dot However its been 3 weeks since the merchant released my money and greendot has still yet to give me my money back. They are attempting to lie and even with a reference number providing proof of my money being released back to them and still no results.
Have an account through Quickbooks Online Banking which is Green Dot Bank. I transferred over $45,000 from my other bank 2 1/2 weeks ago. After 3 weeks with them, they put a hold on my account through Quickbooks Banking. No one at Quickbooks or Green Dot can tell me why. Their are up front phone representatives with the same recorded message, We are so sorry about your situation. But they do not know why it is closed, then when asked who can I talk to to find out, it is someone else in another department that will get back to me in 2 days. It has been 9 days and not a single call back. They have $45,000 of my money and they will not even write a check to give it back. It is like I am in a spy movie. Something or someone is holding the strings, and I can not find out who or why.
Do not give this company access to your money or accounts. They will do everything they can to not help you after your funds become "no longer available". It's amazing they have not been shut down.
Since I have had this poor excuse for a bank I have had so much money stolen or disappeared. When u file a dispute they claim it's a valid transaction 100% of the time. They allow people to take ur money and when u call they live to hang up on you. We need to get together and file a class action lawsuit against green dot bank. There's consumer complaints and you can go the share holders as well. Regardless if they stole 170 or they allowed fraudulent transactions for hundreds don't give up please join me.I will do the leg work for us if u want to be part of this please email me at *******@yahoo.com. 400.00 dollars was stolen from my account and I have to wait up to 45 days just to see if I can get my money back. Not at all fare. I will be taking Green Dot corporation to court.
I don't know how Green Dot provides banking services for Intuit. However, I opened a Quickbooks Online banking account, which was held at Green Dot. This first day of business in 2023, with no notice, Intuit closed the account, and still after an entire week has provided no information about why the account was closed, and why $24K in funds are being held. No explanation after talking to six different people across different groups. I thought I should at least reach out to Green Dot since one chat rep from Intuit said I should. I will tell you that I couldn't get a hold of any one at Green Dot initially by phone since the only way you can do that is to enter a debit card number. But since my account was closed, the number wasn't recognized. I had to provide feedback through their site (not an official support channel). I received an email that customer support had tried to contact me but were unable to leave a message. I called the support number in the email and got the same line. Here's the thing: my voicemail works, and I could see the hangup in my VOIP system from an unidentified 800 number. Then the support person tells me to make sure to be available since they will call me back. I provided my direct line to make sure I didn't miss a call. Which never came. That's two customer services LIES in one short day. This bank is clearly PATHOLOGICAL. I'd rather have zero customer support than negative, time-wasting lies. Avoid Green Dot at all costs!
I've been a customer since 2001 and never had a problem until now they won't allow me to access my own funds they put a block on my account and won't take my ID to open wat type of company is this I called every day since December 23rd that's how long I've been dealing with this I've had people hang up on me and they're rude as I don't know what even tell me they can't transfer to where I want to who I want to talk to smh and the corporate team that is supposed to help when everyone else can't didn't so they are garbage don't put your money with them. I asked can I move my money to my son's card they told me no because my account is locked they really suck DONT USE THEM! They aren't professional and suck... if I could go below 1 star I would.
I've been trying to get my money back. Some one took out my money and the card was in my purse. And they aloud it. Not happy. Never again will I use this company
I work for a nonprofit. Requested vendor banking information for EFT payment. Received email with GreenDot routing and account info. Quickly realized that the sender was not the vendor (masked mispelled email addresses). Called the Vendor and they verified... NOT THEIR BANK. Tried to contact GreenDot... thought they might like to know. Phone doesn't get answered, have to login to chat, to report fraud you have to enter card and CVV. What a waste of time... be vigilant!
I just got this card from Walmart at Christmas. I put $100 on the card at Walmart. It was a present for my son. Fast forward...to this day I can NOT get the card to register, nor can I get anyone on the phone! It's ridiculous. And forget on-line. The website does NOT work. I even tried to email. I guess I have lost my $100. Thanks, Green dot...you will NEVER get another dollar out of me! And I will be contacting the better business bureau.
These cards are ridiculously difficult to activate and require way too much personal information. Almost useless if given as a gift.
I bought 3 of their cards. Couldn't get it to activate. Customer service hangs up repeatedly and when I have reached a real person, they hung up twice today. 4th day and still can't get my 1300.00 back. Never again!
I purchased a Green Dot debit Visa at the end of September 2022, after realizing you had to link it to your bank account I realized it would not work for the persons I had planned to give it to because they didn't have a bank account. I contact customer service early October. Was given a case number and told I would receive a refund check in 4-6 weeks and asked to email a copy of the front and back of the card and the receipt (probably where the scam took place). I waited 6-8 weeks and received nothing. I called again, provided the case number at which point I was told that was not a good number. I went through the whole process again. This time given a new case number, a different email, and told I'd be contacted in a couple days. I was not. I called again. Each call resulted in 45 minutes to an hour or more wasted and a further run around. Finally I got an email referencing a different case number (than I was last given) which states my "fraud case" was found to have no merit and that it showed I used the card. I never filed a fraud case and certainly never never used the card. I also got a a second email stating the new case number and that there were no funds available on the card. I then called again, this time, as before I had to enter the card number and security pin before even being connected to someone, but now it wanted me to also enter my Social security number. I refused to provide them with any ss#. After contacting Visa customer service and being turned down, they gave me another Green Dot customer service number. After a couple hours of calling and run around I gave up. They told me that someone had claimed the card and funds on the card. I suspect someone in their customer service department from the information I originally provided. There said that was not possible but there was nothing they could or would do. I am out the money and not recourse to get this resolved.
I bought one recently and they took $8 for monthly fees a few days later of purchasing
This is the worst card to ever buy! I also was not able to speak to anyone without giving them my SS#. Why would they want this in order to chat with a representative

I had $40 in my acct. Getting a $226 refund. Next morning wake up to $140 more. Then they erase the transaction off history. Call them, speak to "supervisor" she Tells me there is no return for $226 submitted. So they gave me $140 of my refund, erase the proof for $226 then when I call her out on stealing $76 of my refund she drops the call takes me off hold and leaves me sitting on the line. I luckily have screenshots of this refund to be for $226. This bank robs you of your money then when you have proof to call them out on they mark your phone number to do not answer and hope it just gets resolved. Well no not okay, I will be contacting an attorney friend to see what I can do to make sure you innocent ppl like me don't get robbed by them. Honestly to many messed up problems I've encountered in the 1 month I've banked with them.
This is the WORST CARD YOU CAN USE! DO NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP I FELL INTO. You can't even spend the money sometimes because they randomly lock your accounts if they just feel like it should be locked, and their security is below subpar with people losing thousands become of Data Leaks. If you care about financial safety this is not the card for you.
