I ordered a Mother's Day gift well in advance that was scheduled to be received the Friday before Mother's Day. On Mother's Day it had not arrived so I sent an email asking for the status. There was no one answering phones - according to the message it was due to Covid, so email was my only option. I did receive a response back saying that they were looking into it and would get back to me. 24 hours later (Monday) I had not received a response so i went online and saw that my question was marked as completed. I submitted another request for status and finally received an email today (Tuesday) that my order was delayed and that it might ship later this week. It is already 5 days late and I am first getting a notification today? This is incredibly disappointing. I understand that delays happen, especially with Covid, but why wasn't this communicated to me early on? They obviously knew 5 days ago that nothing was sent out and it was delayed. And the rep from Goldbelly obviously did not follow up on the order timely either. I love the concept of the website but unfortunately after this experience, I will no longer be a customer.
The process was easy and I reviewed a delicious cake on time. I'm very pleased.
I ordered pizza from Gino's East for my sons. They loved it. Being from the Chicago area and eating at Gino's East in the past the pizza hit the spot.
The banana cream pie was the bomb! And it was delivered on time.

Answer: They aren't necessarily a scam, but very poor customer service policies. If anything goes wrong with your order, like it did with mine, they just blocked me from their Facebook page so I couldn't leave a review. It's just luck if your order arrives and looks as you would expect and if it doesn't you are out of luck. Just contact local bakeries or restaurants and have them deliver for you, no reason to pay Goldbelly and have a third party who cares nothing about your order throw it around in the back of their truck and deliver it trashed. Goldbelly is unscrupulous and a big risk of wasted money.
