I've bought three phones from Orchard. In 2016, I bought a "like new" iPhone 5s for myself and my partner. In the first week, her battery did not work very well. Orchard replaced it for free.
We used those phones for two years. In 2018, I paid $60 for a new battery. Unfortunately, my partner's click button failed. Orchard would not resell it.
My partner bought a "like new" iPhone SE and I bought one as well. I sold my used 5s through Orchard for $140.

My boyfriend recommended this site to buy myself a new phone after he bought this phone here a few months ago. It was described as being in "good condition" and pictured to have a couple deep looking scratches on the back. No big deal, I can put a case on it and cover them. The phone arrived today and looks brand new, no scratches on it at all, anywhere. Very impressed and I wouldn't hesitate to buy here again
This is the 2nd time I've sold my old phone with Orchard.
Sure you could do it yourself and make a bit more money, but you have to post it, field a bunch of texts and then meet some weirdo somewhere while worrying about being robbed. It's also inconvenient.
With Orchard you just download the app, do the testing and either have them send you a box to ship it in, or use your own. No hassle at all. It's so insanely easy and convenient.
I would (and probably will) use them when I want to sell the phone I just got.

I recently purchased an iPhone SE from Orchard. It arrived on time, it was in good shape but it had a problem with WiFi connectivity. They replaced the phone promptly with one that was again in good shape and that worked flawlessly. Everything they advertised, they delivered. Their follow-up and customer service were exceptional and bar none! Great people to buy a reconditioned phone from, period!
