My two experiences buying from Gearbest were very positive. My first order arrived earlier than expected and the products matched precisely their description on the website. My second order is still en route but I also expect it to arrive ealier than predicted.
I can't believe Gearbest could have so many 5 star reviews on one end and so many 1 star reviews on the other end. All one star reviews have a commom thread: not honoring warranties, not making refunds as promised, or saying item was shipped when there is no record. That has been my experience with GearBest. Very suspicious that all reviews are 5 star and glowing while all others are 1 star. Paid or company reviewers? You be the judge.
I've bought many things from Gearbest and I assure you that it's the best e-shopping store in the whole internet because it has a lot of cheap good quality items: electronics clothes and more... When something is wrong their support team reply quickly and solve the problem by refunding or sending another item. They also offer a free shipment method.
I made my first purchase from china on Gearbest, it was a smartphone, and pretty expensive one, I was worried a bit as you have to pay in advance. Luckily gearbest keeps you on track whole the time so always know where is your order at. My first order was delivered from China in 10bussines days which is pretty fast consider it has travel half the world.
As now, I am using Gearbest for over a month and I made over 5 orders, in total 11 pieces, I am really satisfied with GearBest and I can reccomend it to anyone. As Trustpilot says

Below I will describe my opinion about the Gearbest store. The first thing that struck a long time ago is a wide range of goods. Goods are packed and shipped very quickly and reliably. Has made more than 20 orders, there have been several returns (mail work is very bad), the return policy itself is very good and customer-oriented, compared to other Chinese trading platforms.
I also ordered goods from the grocery (TV) and everything went very smoothly. Without a shadow of a doubt, I recommend this store to everyone.
Beware, this site scams the majority of these customers.

This company is a straight scam. In the fine print they suggest you buy shipping insurance. If you did not your product never arrives. Then they say by policy they only refund less than half. Great business model, good pictures, take the money, refund half for over 100% profit. Do not buy from them.

Great experience with GearBest online shopping store so far I never had a problem while I purchase in GearBest store, while I buying I see the picture of product, proceed to checkout and make a clear payment, while product is arrived finally I pay for what I saw on picture and preaty great quality products, great costumer support, everything is perfect!

I got my products but one was not what they promised and one broke after a few seconds of use. They still continue to use wrong information on their website even though they admitted to me that it is not correct. Answer: Dont really matter mate, regardless, what they do if does not arrive, they will not refund, they offer to resend at your cost. Then you do Paypal dispute, they refuse to refund unless you close the case, if you close the case, Paypal will not help. In my circumstances Paypal decided in my favour and refunded, but dragged on, avoid this company in future, Bangood better

I got free shipping but the product was damaged an only fit for resting your cup on they offered a refund less the first shipping that was ment to be free or a replacement. As it cost 25 pounds to send back to resolve the matter I chose to except the replacement it came and was just as bad a tablet as the first. Take my advice and run a mile.
