I am very unhappy with my GE appliances. I have a profile dual oven (electric) and range (propane), bought 2017. Within 3 years the control panel died and needed replacement. It has happened again and I am now waiting for a part to become available and additional fees for the repair. I also have a GE stacked washer dryer. Within in one month the button for the washer broke. Fortunately it was still under warranty but had to wait for the part. Now as of yesterday, the dryer button is not working. I bought this appliance in 2021. 2breakdowns in 2 years. My suggestion, stay away from GE. I will never buy another of their appliances.
This is no question but a declaration. I own many GE appliances including a GSE25GYPFCFS fridge. With this fridge, I am barred from buying water filters without the RFID chip which turns OFF all water and ice when the chip is not there. In addition, these filters are over twice the cost for the same filtration system. To top that off, I was promised free shipping with a promo code on parts and accessories that does not work. Unless this restriction is removed from my fridge where I can buy water filters without a chip, I will NEVER buy ANY GE appliance again.
This window unit died in exactly seven weeks. The fan stopped working and the technician who came out called GE but was told there are not replacement parts. The technician assured us GE would be in touch, but there is no word despite the heat wave being experienced by the entire country, and we are out $300 dollars. I see many other reviews here telling consumers how bad these products are. I agree--do not buy GE.

July 20,2023 but NO ONE came. June 22 to July 26,2023 and still NO PART and STILL NOT WORKING.

Do not buy GE appliances, I have had trouble with both cooktop in the past and now a fridge/freezer. They have very poor customer service and not willing to help the customer. Pay extra and go with a better company.
I want to give it zero, I bought a dishwasher May 1 when it arrived it didnt work, they said they could send a technicain in 3 weeks, he came and said he needed a part 3 weeks later he came back and the part was wrong, I havent I havent heard from him since he wont answer my calls or return a messaage. Called Custom service ad they said they wont deal with me because of my anger. Now its going on Aug. I think they should give me a new dishwasher sinca they ave me a broken one to begen with
Our GE dishwasher broke after only 5 months. Now if I were selling dishwashers and one failed that quickly, I'd do everything I could to make it right. Not GE. That would require a sense of shame, and they have none. They replaced the dishwasher but refused to pay installation costs. Massachusetts state law requires dishwashers to be installed and uninstalled by plumbers. They offered me $250, which was less than half what it cost to have the new one installed. I uninstalled the broken myself to keep costs down in case they tried to screw me. Otherwise, I would have been on the hook for nearly $1,000. Imagine if I was a little old lady who couldn't remove the old one herself. They were entirely unsympathetic to my protests and OUTRIGHT REFUSED to let me talk to a supervisor. I will never buy a GE product again. Another formerly great American company gone to $#*!.
I can't believe the lack of quality and durability. This microwave was used 3x per day max and within 2 years, totally died! Would never buy a GE again. Model JES1657DM1WW. What a waste of money of $175
Don't ever purchase a GE Appliance! They are poorly made. Our refrigerator has leaked condensation since Day 1 and the freezer continually frosts over on one side or both since Day 1. Sometimes half of our freezer will defrost and the other half stays partially frozen! Also, the design of GE's accessibility wheels WILL DAMAGE A VINYL PLANK FLOOR! Customer service is designed to frutrate the consumer and make you give up. We've been trying to get help since January 2023 and it's now July almost August, NO RESOLUTION! Kelly Johnson who works for the chairman of the board contacted us AFTER we complained to the state of FL. HER JOB IS TO BLOW SMOKE TO CONSUMERS AND THE STATE in order to avoid addressing the issues of a VERY, POOR PRODUCT!
Well I can honestly say how disappointed I am with my brand new dishwasher! Installed it June 2023 and yellow light and didn't work. Had to call warranty Wo#*******469 service man wonderful but product still doesn't work with new power switch.then he was told today to tear the door apart! Totally unacceptable. I escalated to Alex the manager file ******* he says the the door has to be all opened up and take apart! This is a brand new appliance! He will not replace it! This company is not even with the Better business bureau! Never ever would myself or spouse recommend this Dishwasher! Don't buy it you will have problems! Totally disgusted!

I bought a 50 pint dehumidifier from Home Depot, after a week an error code "P1", showed on the display and the machine quit working. This only happened when the pump was on. I looked in the manual and found no information about the code. After several attempts I called customer service and was told because they don't do the repairs, they don't list the error codes. Is it me, or am I wrong for not wanting to buy anything else from GE? I am a former customer service representative and the companies I've worked for knew the error codes and basic troubleshooting.
I have been dealing with a faulty GE Cafe refrigerator for more than 3 months. It's not cooling and the icemaker does not work. GE sends a technician and then they order a part. I wait for the part, then have to schedule another appointment to get it installed. The technician comes back and installs the part and tells me to wait 24 hours to see if it fixes the problem. It does not. I make another appointment to have a technician come back and do more troubleshooting. The process repeats... order parts, wait, make an appointment, get it installed, wait, schedule another troubleshooting appointment, order parts, wait, make an appointment, get it installed, wait, schedule another appointment, etc. This has been going on for 3.5 months now... and it hasn't stopped. Each time, I'm taking time out of my day (work, appointments, etc). The technician actually told me there are known issues with GE Cafe Refrigerators and that it is 90% of his service calls but GE is not willing to replace them.
According to the reviews on BBB, I'm not the only one. This company needs to be held accountable.
Horrible company and customer service. Don't buy from them. Would not recommend purchasing anything well definitely not something with much money. The normal warranty you pay for like for other companies is not the same. Really it's a bs reimbursement, meaning on top of what you've already paid for. They fight you on immediately sending a replacement, and on sending a technician. In the end to say buy another one the same value then we would send you a refund. After weeks of waiting for the service tech to come out today. He was supposed to be here between 8-12pm by 12:53 called and the tech lied and said they couldn't reach us. Yet we been here a up all morning. Prime example had this air conditioner brand new and not even a year yet. Which I only used for a month last year. Go to cut on now and it's defected keeps beeping and clicking off. Mind you now I'm finding out bad model and a lot of customers had the same issue. Yet they doing anything not to service it or replace. Horrible customer service bedside manner and just want your money!
Our top of the line GE Profile fridge lasted 13 months. It is going to take 3 weeks to get it serviced. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. When I tried to leave a review on the GE site, they said I couldn't mention customer service in my review!

I ordered 2 portable GE Air Conditioners through Walmart on June 9th. Delivery was just 21 but Amazon could deliver them by June 15. GE's tracking service didn't work. Even though I called in advance to make sure they were in-stock June 21 turned into June 24 and it's now June 27 and still no a/c units. On top of that they can't even deliver a product on time but the price dropped in the meantime and they wouldn't do anything about the price. Please buy from reputable people as both Walmart and GE were useless.
I purchased a discontinued refrigerator and after received an email with higher price. The customer service stated that it was due to my browser plugins and he could not honor the discount. I agreed to have part of the discount removed. The day I was to get delivery, I received no calls so I called customer service who informs me that the item is out of stock and expected delivery was June 20 to July 14th. Then she looks again and says she doesn't expected any delivery. This website and GE is full of BS and I would never buy any of their appliances again. They deserve zero stars!
With regret, I bought a GE Profile dishwasher. After a year of very limited use, a serious malfunction developed. It took three weeks to get a Tech Rep out and another five weeks to get the parts in. GE used to be an American business institution beyond reproach. No longer. It's now owned by the Chinese, managed by the Chinese and operated in typical Chinese fashion using low quality parts and no communication. I have $1200 invested in the GE Profile dishwasher……What junk. What a waste. What a fraud. Now you know….FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED. IF YOU BUY FROM GE, THEN YOU ARE BUYING FROM THE CHINESE AND YOU ARE SUPPORTING THE CHINESE WHO ARE UNDERMINING AMERICA AT EVERY GIVEN OPPORTUNITY.

Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
