Got my brand new GE profile smart fridge & I didn't notice right away but there is a slow drip coming from the water dispenser. Of course I only really notice after my in store warranty is over (thanks best buy for 14 days) so I call GE. They outsourced a company to check it. The company has come out 3 times trying to fix. They deem it unrepairable. I then call GE back & submit a higher claim with Consumer relations. I supposedly now have a claim rep to help me and she said she would call me in 3 days with an answer. Instead I get an email saying ive been denied. So I call GE and have to wait on I get denied & they want to send the 3rd party company ou & for ME to call them. So I call and wait 1 1/2 hours because my claim agent didnt have the decency to call me back like we discussed. After finally getting a new agent, GE sent the 3rd party company out again. The repair company comes out for the 4th time and calls GE from my house. GE tells them to order a special part. The repair company comes out again to install the new part. The repair guy cannot figure it out so he calls GE. The GE support center tells the repair man that he didnt think the part was for my fridge and then hangs up on him. The repair guy calls back again and Jerry from GE told him that the part is NOT for my fridge but that it is "Normal" for my fridge to leak. WHAT?! So I call back to GE to see if they will FINALLY get me a new fridge and they tell me it looks like the 3rd party repair company came out twice because there are only 2 tickets from GE. OK so nobody told me to have them start a new "ticket" each time they came. Now I have to try to get the 3rd party to submit an invoice for each time they have been out. I have spent over 10 or more hours dealing with my defective fridge, 5 visits from the repair center and still no working fridge. I paid $3200 for this (on sale $1000 off normal price!) Wish me luck I have no idea what the next step is if I can't get individual invoices from the 3rd party.
They get the servicing done by third parties which don't care coz this is not their product when it's broken. GE also doesn't care (talked to a supervisor right now--she didn't care) Think twice. DON'T BUY THIS
In July 2021, we purchased a new GE dishwasher from Home Depot. We have our 4th service appointment this week for the exact same problem which they say is the motherboard and it has already been replaced on a prior service call. GE says, yeah this is a problem, we just don't know how to fix it. We can't give you a new one until there has been 4 service calls on the exact same problem. Me: Well stop selling a defective product. We will not be buying anymore GE appliances. I am also placing this in your customer reviews.
Bought a GE Electric Range, it had problems and was returned for another one. The 2nd one had more problems, and I was told if I paid for the difference in an upgrade I could purchase the upgrade (now I'm being told I can't do this. 1. Problem with this range is that the bottom drawer cannot be opened without sitting on the floor and grabbing it with both hands and them pulling it open (at 80 I cannot bend at the waist and pull it open, having rheumatoid arthritis in both hands and wrist joint; hard to get up off the floor). Even repairman had problems.
2.2nd problem is the oven is not heating properly. The 1st range had the same problem and after replacing a heating element would still not heat (the heating element they took out worked perfect and they told me to keep the element because there was nothing wrong with it). This 2nd electric range the timer goes off, but the heat doesn't go up to 350 until about 5 minutes later. I found this out by accident, as I usually don't put my meatloaf in when timer goes off - found when I did this food wasn't cooked; so, I bought a hang on oven temperature gage and when timer went off the gage was 300 degrees.
3. The 3rd problem is the stove is crocked, so if you try to fry anything the grease, and food move.
4. I waited till my credit card could handle an upgrade, and now I'm not being allowed to make an upgrade by paying the difference because the range still cooks, because the repairman told GE that the stove still cooks, and said it is repairable! So GE electric refuses to let me pay the difference in an upgrade! (The electric range I have is still under warranty-still new). I'm told to keep it since it still cooks, and THEY WILL REPAIR IT - I HOPE SO. (Disgusted with GE). I'm 80 don't know how to take pictures & email proof.
I purchased a general electric side by side stainless refrigerator from Home Depot in March on 2022. After a few days, I still wasn't getting more than a glass of ice in a whole day, the refrigerator makes a roaring noise occasionally like it is going to get up and race out of the house, and the freezer side door barely shuts, it just does not seal. Home Depot says they only give you 48 hours and then it is your problem. I am a pro account member at Home Depot and spend thousands of dollars a year at their store. Then, I have to try and call General Electric, which is a hold time of several hours. One time I was transferred many times, and finally the lady tole me to hang up and dial a certain number. When I hung up and went to dial, I realized it was the same number I had dialed. I have taken off work without pay and have received four service calls. They never give you a window of when they will come, for instance, afternoon or morning. The service guy ordered a new door seal and made an appointment for three months later. The part came in a week, I called the guy, left a message to please come back before the three month appointment. He never responded. I have been driving to the bar-b-q restaurant by my house a couple of times a day and they are nice enough to give me some ice in my cups. They love my dog and they are so kind to us. I am old and on a fixed income. I substitute teach to make ends meet and having to take off work has been a problem. Also, having to pay every month for a defective product is discouraging and the wrong way to treat someone. As stated, four service calls, no help from Home Depot, spending over $2,200.00 of hard earned money, and waiting almost eight months just doesn't seem right. I always thought General Electric was a good company. BUYER BEWARE
I bought a GE trash compactor 4 months ago, and it worked for a total of 24 hours.
Service from GE approved repair shop replaced a part, but it didn't fix the unit. They ordered more parts, and I've been waiting more then a month for the parts to come in and they have no idea when they will arrive. I demanded a replacement unit, and they refused. They say they'll call back, but they don't. I have to take all of the steps to determine status. Very disappointed in GE's lack of support for their products.
I decided to splurge a little on a dishwasher this year. I don't think I have been this disappointed with a purchase in my adult life. I really don't think anyone at GE has ever even used a dishwasher.
The layout of the racks makes it impossible to fill it up with dishes. Maybe 3/4.
The bottom rolling rack is a cheap, ill fitting plastic piece of s...
Platters and larger items are not going into this machine.
And the only reason to have a dishwasher (that I am aware) is to clean your dishes easily and conveniently. If that is what you are after, do not buy this dishwasher.
I am really irritated with this thing every time I use it. Today I have decided to trow it away and go back to Maytag.
Purchased a stackable washer dryer July 2020 which cost $1700 at the time. 2 yrs later, dryer stopped working. I am single and the unit is lightly used. After the 3rd visit by a repairman, it was determined it was the control panel. Told me they get the most calls for repair for GE appliances. $350 later, I'm hoping this lasts for awhile. Never again GE. Poor quality and cheaply made.
I bought a oven April 2022 it has broken 3 times and as of today I'm still waiting after 2 weeks for someone to call me so I can get the oven fixed, Horrible Customer Service
Horrible experience with GE. Our gas dryer, less than a year old, Has been broken down for 7 weeks. GE has sent a repair company out 5 times, and it's still not working. I have spent $100 at laundry mat, just drying. Their customer service is awful. I find it amusing their number is 800-GECARES. GE ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT CARE! Do not buy GE!
I bought a GE dishwasher on January 16,2022. It started to leak in August. I have had three service calls and it is still not fixed. I can not get my money back even for my extended warranty. I am going just have to pitch it because GE will not declare it a lemon. I am trying to get new flooring installed, but I can not get them in because of the leaking dishwasher.
I have always been loyal to GE. All new Kitchen less than 2 years old. Our GE Cafe Induction Cooktop turns off all the time making it difficult to simmer anything without constantly watching to see if it turns off. Frustrating. Replaced broken door shelves in the GE refrigerator twice now. My wife is always complaining that the GE oven makes it impossible to bake cakes due to fluctuations in the temp. And we get to Flooded Kitchen from a known issue with the GE Dishwasher. The failed rubber elbow on the washer pump, standing water under my cabinets. It had been leaking for a while as there is mold and damage to the cabinets that indicate its been going on a while and finally the elbow tore enough to flood from underneath the cabinets. Absolut Nightmare now!
I will never buy another GE product ever again.
I have all of my Monogram for all my appliances in my kitchen. We have all of them under extended warranties. We have asked for the repair of springs for our dishwasher and it has taken 4 visits to get the springs repaired. Jesus Ovaando Sanchez was the first repair technician and he no only scratched our wood floors pulling the appliance out, he failed to attach the springs to fix the door. The second repair guys, Emerlin Cordero was the second technician to come. He attached the springs and repaired the door but did not install the dishwasher back correctly to the cabinet. I requested from GE to correct their last visit and now we are placed on a DO NOT SERVICE LIST. Shockingly poor customer service and technian skill. They completely misinstalled the dishwasher and missed the wood when putting it back together. I've tried and spoked with Patience in customer service. If someone in GE Corporate reads this. Please help with quality of this GE repair services. I was a big fan of MONOGRAM until now. Very dissapointed.
Washer machine broke after 10 months called them and they set up a service visit, 4 visits later and 2 months later they could not fix costumer relations at GE says there's nothing they can do because service company said it was completed and they have no record of the 4 service visits to my home
Just purchased a new GE microwave (model JVM7195EK6ES) to replace my old 19 year old GE. This new one is nothing but cheap plastic. The first problem was that the template they give you does not match the wholes in the bracket. Second, the top holes are not in the same place as the old microwave. Third, on the top of the right side there is a lip about 1/4 inch higher than the left, so the cabinet door above will not shut. I will have to have both doors trimmed so it doesn't look lopsided. The last thing, there is no owners manual. If you want one, you have to call and request it. Then they will print and mail it to you.
GE bottom freezer refrigerator purchased in March 2022 already leaking R600a. We have had technician out after scheduling a week ago. This is under warranty but took us a week without any refrigerator. He did not bring R600a refrigerant so it will be another week without refrigerator to use. This is unbelievable that they are unprepared. This is $3,000 GE appliance that is already leaking. Please do not buy this as service is terrible and experience is terrible for a high end appliance. Fortunately covered by warranty but we have lost all contents and the only way to communicate is through their website.
Went to Home-depot and purchased GE gas range and it had a bad gas valve right out the box this was 7-26-22 called GE they sent a repair man out he took the gas valve out said he would call me back it's been 6 weeks have not seen or herd from him or GE I keep calling this so called repair man no answer are call back so I have a $1000 range sitting in my kitchen and I'm using a $35 toaster oven.
Have repair twice under warranty and oneore time when it was out. CX service is extremely bad. I have ban that brand on all their products
Absolutely DO NOT recommend! The stove gave an (F200) code which is showing 615 degrees basically overheating. Stove purchased 4/22/22 and on 9/4/22 we cannot use the stove. Tried calling to have the stove fixed and use the warranty but GE doesn't seem to want to fix the stove. We tried calling corporate only to have them hang up on us when we told them our hassle to try to get the stove fixed. Every time we got a hold of someone they said we would get a call in 24 hours but we haven't got a return phone call. I called Linamins appliance and he literally told me he isn't doing warranty work at this time cash customers first! This makes me wonder if GE is paying for warranty work at all!
I bought a GE dryer from Lowes 7 months ago and it is already broken. I paid for a 3 year warranty and the service company they work with in my area is booked out for 3 weeks. This is AWFUL. I have a newborn and need items washed. I purchased the 3 year warranty so that I could get things fixed fast and not have to spend more money. This is awful. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
