I have been paying the monthly fee for roadside assistance and now i need it they said they cannot find my account! Now on the side of the road with NO HELP because of them
It's not done by regular drivers anymore gas stations have their computers set up to cancel out anyone in their zip code selling gas for less than they are. It is turned into a joke
Fu gas buddy. Uber drivers relied on you. Now you want big $ to access.
Democrats, Progressives and Biden. Ruined your business model.
Your going out do business very soon, idiots
It is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to ever reach someone in customer service. If you call the toll free number on the gas buddy card it is answered by a robot and no matter what your needs/situation may be you can NEVER speak to a live person, and every message you send using their app is returned using a bot message. I updated my bank information five days ago and they still haven't linked my new account to my gas buddy card. Really, in the 21st Century where computers run everything and anything is instantly available with the push of a button. Absolutely ridiculous!
GB use to be fun. Now its members just go to get points to try to win gas. Half the prices are never correct and the members dont actually drive by the stations, they just repost old prices. Their app tracks you if you dont force it not to and force it to stop.
Terrible web page. News and blogs are older than Fark links getting "greenlit" by the mods.
No Forum page anymore
Several individuals continuously change fuel prices in Torrance Ca area to incorrect higher values almost daily.

I have an RV with an 80 gallon gas tank. After many requests GasBuddy raised my purchase limit. I let them know I was going on a trip. After my first fill-up the pit a hold on my card cause of the quantity of gas I purchased and the purchase not buying in my home town.
Their customer service folks never answer the phone so attempts to resolve the issue were a waste of time.
After the trip was over the released the hold. Clearly that was a bit too late.
I have asked to speak to a supervisor and of course I have NOT received a phone call.
I will be looking into other options to save a few pennies on each gallon of gas

At one time it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. The app on my phone stopped working about 10 months ago and despite numerous attempts to get help from customer service it is no use. I now only get solicitation email but no good use from the app any more. Too bad. It was once a very useful app not any more. Researching this on the WWW I find that I am one of many people with this problem. Hit my GasBudy Icon ad all it will do is search for the server non stop. Had it try for almost an hour once. I have just removed the app from my phone, never to use it again. Also canceled my subscription to the updates on the website. USELESS. As can be seen on the picture, that is as far as it ever gets.

Completely changed from inception! Used to be great for finding prices and logging consumption. Nothing but gimmicks now. Uninstalling as of today!
GasBuddy USED to be an awesome site--lots of current information about gas prices and other transportation topics. But then, about 3 years ago, the current owners bought it out and they COMPLETELY trashed the site. They shut down the communication between GasBuddy members. The membership can post daily news article. Originally, these articles had to be related to gas prices or other transportation-related topics. Now, they let ANY idiot post any political crap, or any other opinionated garbage. The current owners show absolutely no concern for the membership that does the work of posting current gas prices. All they are interested in now is selling advertising to convenience stores, and trying to con people into giving them access to their financial information in exchange for a very small discount on gas purchases ONLY IF you use their payment system. I still use it to check local gas prices, but, since prices these days are fairly stable, the lowest priced stations stay consistent.
The Waco, TX area GasBuddy website is dominated by people who just repost the previous price and have not actually gone to the gas station to see the current price. On Saturday, 5/2/2020 member "dbhewitt" posted prices at nearly every gas station on on the Waco, TX GasBuddy website. Many of the stations are 10-12 miles apart, yet he was able to post over 50 prices in under 30 minutes?
For nearly 2 weeks, dbhewitt posted $1.20 for regular at Rudy's BBQ Store and gas station. During this time I went to Rudy's and found the price was $1.51 but I did not post that price just to see how long dbhewitt would continue to post the wrong price. Dbhewitt continued to post the wrong price for another week until someone finally posted the correct price a few days ago. Then dbhewitt started posting the correct price.
Thats exactly how dbhewitt operates... he just reposts the previous post and if nobody changes it, he keeps reposting that same price until someone corrects it. GasBuddy does not provide any vehicle to complain about people who are abusing or cheating on the price posting rules. It used to be that posting you would be banned form the site if you deliberately posted the wrong prices. That was a good start, but some people like dbhewitt have multiple identites on GasBuddy and they just switch to identities and keep on posting the wrong prices. I strongly suspect that dbhewitt has at least 2 other active alias identities.
Finally, I refuse to post prices, and have not posted prices in well over a year because of dbhewitt and a few others who feel they must be the only person posting prices... right or wrong!
As seen by the poor reviews here, GasBuddy needs to get back to the basics that got their website on the map... and that is having members post honest prices and banning cheaters. Now GasBuddy is only interested in revenue from it Convenience Store sponsors and not interested in anything the members have to say... that's why GasBuddy has dropped the Forums, the Whiteboards and shut off all avenues for GasBuddy complaints from their website. I finally had to due a search for "GasBuddy Complaints" and only found this website and the Better Business Bureau website.
Signed up said they sent the card never got it. Tried to contact never respond. Crappy outfit don't bother waste of time. Doubt it even works.
Or you'll be ripped off to a premium extent. I've used Gasbuddy for over 6 years to find cheap gas and that's fine. Then they offered Gasbuddy Premium with savings and roadside assistance. The first time I needed roadside assistance I was told I didn't have a roadside assistance plan and that I could buy one for $149. There is no phone number to talk with anyone at Gasbuddy. Emails are returned after 2 weeks with no answers, only "can we help you further?" I have contacted my attorney to demand remuneration.
The last 2 times I have used my gas buddy card when the debit showed in my bank account it was not 5 cent per gallon. I use to be 5 cent a gallon for the past few years. WHAT HAPPENED?
Gasbuddy wake up... your spotter are just posting pricing to score points. They log in whatever the price w/o actually driving by the station and verifying pricing>
Tried to cancel membership... will not answer emails or phone call to cancel have tried many times. No response at all! Stay away
I loved gasbuddy for the longest time, and I never had any problems. Until one day I accidentally pumped a little over what I intended and when gasbuddy charged my bank account it returned the charge because my bank account went negative. Ever since this happened I have had a message saying that my gasbuddy card was deactivated due to an issue connecting to my bank account. It says to contact them if the process takes more than a day to resolve. It has been 6 months and after multiple times trying to contact them about my bank account not being connected, then my account still being charged for the premium membership when I've been unable to use my card, and then just wanting to cancel my membership, I've gotten nothing. No response. I continue to get charged every month and I don't know what to do at this point because I've done everything I can. In the photos the "gasback reward" was one if their deals where it gives you however many cents back per gallon, so I just took a picture of my receipts and the gasback applied towards my membership fee.
Thought it was OK at first and got. 05 cents off per gallon. Then it dropped to. 03. Sent e-mail asking for a explanation. Got a reply asking if I still had the problem. I got there number right there. No telephone number to call.
Got double billed once. Took weeks to get reimbursed. They don't care about their customers period. Don't deal with them. Get a cash back credit card.
Yesterday I wrote a review criticizing Gas Buddy for making their new DEAL program more difficult to locate gas prices. This morning I received an update to the app and it is now showing all gas stations and their current lower price offer. This could actually work out after all. You just tap on the offer and get there within 4 hours for your gas mark down. As an example. It will show XX gas station, the price on the marquis and then a slash through it with the now discounted price. This may work out after all.
Answer: Nobody I know has ever won. I have been a member over 9 years and I've never won. I entered 103,000 points, 103 tickets, all at once the day after St. Patrick's Day and I didn't win. So the short answer is someone must be winning these things, but you probably have better odds with a lottery scratcher. I also find it strange that often times the winners are brand new to the website with low point totals and often stop using the website after they win, kinda strange.
Answer: I see lots of people here reporting issues using GB, but my wife and I have had nothing but good luck using it all up and down the east cost. No false charges, not wrong prices, etc. we try and faithfully confirm or correct any prices off, but that rarely happens and is only a couple cents here and there when it does. Happy user here! YMMV
Answer: I just used it for the first time and I guess I didn't read enough of the fine print. I was expecting to see the price drop at the pump, but instead I needed up paying full retail price at the pump and I guess the savings is supposed to come off the back end when it hits my bank. Not sure, but I can tell you this, that was my first and last time using the card. I would rather see my savings immediately at the pump than have to wait to hopefully see them show up in my bank account. Ill just continue to use my loyalty cards. I hope this helps!
Answer: I cannot currently imagine as to why the rating is so low. My experience has been perfect in South Florida so far. GasBuddy is always accurate, works great on my android smartphone, links up well with turn by turn audible directions to the cheapest gas station. Therefore I rated this app 5 stars and I never do this unless it always makes my life easier to manage day to day.
